"From Here to Eternity", 1953, is a well-executed adaptation of the war novel written by James Jones (The Thin Red Line, Some Came Running) directed by Fred Zinneman (High Noon, A Man For All Seasons). This classic truly did earn its many Oscar nominations and holds up remarkably well today. (something I don't find true for every past Oscar nominee/winner!) With this Blu-ray, Sony gives us a transfer so excellent that I only wish they'd do HD catalog upgrades more often! There are so many gems just waiting to be revived in all their cinematic glory. The cast in general give strong performances all around, with Frank Sinatra demonstrating yet again that not only could he sing, but also act! Montgomery Clift also has a dependably great role. The bonus features actually felt a little lacking in comparison to the quality of the film itself. What is there is good, though. All in all, I'm very happy with this Blu-ray and with the fantastic price I got it for at Best Buy, so I really have nothing to complain about!

Excellent transfer of one of the best films of all time. Burt Lancaster and Frank Sinatra were at their cinematic best.

Great Classic to own on BD and the price was great. There is a reason this movie has withstood the test of time.

This movie is an essential. Sinatra's Oscar winner and comeback and then some. And for such a low price, too!

I liked this movie I watched old movies all the time when I was a ion tv but haven't seen this one on for a long time. Thought it was worth it to buy so that. I could watch it any time I wanted and now my dad can watch it when he comes over too

Outstandingly enjoyable filled with lots of action
