Frozen Planet is fantastic and a great video for those of us who will never have the opportunity to see first hand these incredible creatures.

I've been watching episodes with my son during our mom & monkey time. He's almost 13yo and caught part of the show on tv at his dad's house. Having heard of others who caught it on tv, I bought this when Best Buy had it on sale. We have enjoyed watching several episodes so far. My heart aches for what the mommy animals go thru as their cycle of life, but it's very educational. Kudos to the BBC for putting this together. I can't wait to get more of their specials on DVD (I still haven't watched all of our Planet Earth series on DVD)

Our family used this documentary while we homeschooled the 4th grade. My son was studying Antarctica in Geography and the animals that lived at both the North and South Poles. In Literature, he was reading Mr. Popper’s Penguins, so we found this documentary to be the icing on the cake! It is so thorough and informative but keeps your attention so that you watch every second. I highly suggest this for any family who wants to see these animals up close in their own habitat!
