This is a very, very good show. Many people wonder what's different from this and the original show, and it's a HUGE difference.The beginning of both t.v shows are pretty much the same, but it completely changes after around the second season. This dvd is more faithful to the manga, which has a completely different turn of events than the first t.v show, not to mention that the manga is much better. This will definatly have more action and a better plot, AND its in blue ray! Personally, i would wait until they come out with the complete first season, because it will cost alot less to buy it like that.

For those who watched through the entire first series, you know exactly what you'll get. This is the same story (for the first half) until it breaks off into something much better. It's far more action-packed with crisper animation and all the good old voice actors we know and love (except Alphonse, because he grew up). For those who have never heard of or seen Fullmetal, absolutely check it out. Anime fans will treasure this forever and rewatch it time and time again. For everyone else, give it a shot and I'm confident you will not be disappointed. It's dark, beautiful, brilliantly written, and filled with simply awesome action.

Fullmetal Alchemist recieved a great following from the original series. This telling plays true to the manga storyline and is even better. If you are a fan of the first series definately watch this one too it's very different and a great show.
