I bought this so I could complete the collection to the series and I find it was well worth it. It's a great movie for any Otaku or fan of the Full Metal Alchemist series.

I usually don't like movies based off of tv anime but this story is really good. I went to a special screening and enjoyed it.

Best buy dropped the ball, and I didn't get the item, but I have seen the anime on an anime app and it is one of the best if you're into anime.

Fast-paced FMA movie

Never been a "huge" Full Metal Alchemist fan, but I've seen many episodes on Cartoon Network over the years from the original series as well as Brotherhood. The series have plenty of action, tons of characters, and the plot is awesome. Always enjoyed what I saw so when I heard about this movie coming out this year, I was bent on getting to see it.
I'll try to avoid any spoilers even though the description on the back of the box spoils part of it. Basic premise of the story is that the old nation of Milos has been oppressed by two different nations in the past few hundred years and is caught in between the two. Naturally, oppression leads to rebellion and uprising. A rebel group hatches a plot to overthrough the government by attempting to harness the sacred power of magma in the surrounding lands. Add the Elric brothers into any mix and the trouble keeps piling on. Ed and Al head to the far west chasing an escaped convict who has unusual transmutation circles on his hands that they have never seen. Thinking this may provide a clue to getting their original bodies back, they head towards Milos to seek answers.
Greatly enjoyed the movie. Voice-acting was awesome as usual for this series. Actually prefer the English voices...scary! Tons of extras thrown in. Lots of trailers, movie promos, and comedic shorts. Even has a "making of" and commentary from the English cast. Movie is just under 2 hours long which is great. I hate it when they're under 90 minutes...
For only $15-$20, I'd say this movie is a must-own for any anime fan; especially if you like the FMA series or anything fantasy/action oriented. Also, first box-set of FMA Brotherhood #first 33 episodes# just released today along with the movie. Should scoop that one up if you haven't as well!

Great Story as a Filler

From what I heard, this story was a filler. However, after remembering that this story did make it to many small business theaters across the country, I decided to order this movie in Blu-ray form.
This movie really does have interesting plots. It takes place in an area thought to be criminals, but rather, people who wanted independence. I won't go any further than this when describing the story because I would spoil the movie.
If this movie were playing in a theatre next to me, I would have certainly paid to watch it. I can now tell, after watching it in Blu-ray form, why a theatre in Texas got big turnouts for this movie.
While this movie has a good storyline, keep in mind that it is not part of the manga series. This may disappoint the manga fans, but I am sure that even those who read the manga for missed areas will enjoy this movie,

Good movie, but wish it was connected to the anime

It's a good movie that has almost nothing to do with the anime. Really wish it would have continued the anime instead. Other than that, it's alright. I liked how they made a love-interest for a character which gives the fan a chance to question a "what if this were to happen?" kind of scenario. Really liked the colors, style, and animation used in this movie which, to me, gave it an almost refreshing take on Fullmetal Alchemist giving us a different take on how the anime could have looked. In the end, it was quite enjoyable.
