My nine year old wanted a kindle fire, we got her this notebook instead. With the 4GB and 500 GB hard drive at this price we made out like a fat cat !

has windows 8 and don't really show you how to use it. had to have someonelse show me

This is my first time purchasing a laptop and it came out to be pretty awesome! Great sound, quality, and screen size. Anyhow the laptop is great!!!

Bought as a package for our teenage duaghter. It is plaenty of computer for HS and should take her through college. Plenty of speed and memory.

This is my favorite computer. The price is very low. I love this computer. I work with this laptop, everything is full of my desire.

Nice computer. Touch pad is very sensitive, and will flip you from one window to the next without even trying!

Bought this computer as a gift for Christmas. The computer stopped working after the 2nd week of use. Thge keys would not work and when we used a usb keyboard it would still lockup. We took the laptop back to Best Buy to have it replaced but couldnt due to it was a bundle purchase which was discontinued. The remaining choice we had was to send it for repair. The repair center at Geek squad said they found water damage. I personally monitored that laptop and it never had any spills. We were left with a useless 470& purchase due to the fact that the Best Buy repair center wanted to charge 400& for the repair. ALMOST AS MUCH AS THE COMPUTER WAS PURCHASED FOR. We received no help.

It's a good laptop did come in handy but the battery dies so fast ever since we first charged it.

this unit had been used, password set, every bit of paperwork removed from box, resealed very carefully and returned to store. Factory uses a serpentine cut on tape, buyer used a straight cut, had to look real close to see the tape on tape but the staight cut is what really gave it away. could not get past user name on screen. when i returned it the b b employee treated me like a criminal, did not beleive me but did return my money, then I bought a different model and am very pleased. ALWAYS open the box at the store and look for internal packaging, it will save you lots of grief.

Bought this computer set for my mother for Christmas. Windows 8 had a huge issue staying connected to the router. In googling this issue it seems to be a very common problem with windows 8. Less than 30 days from my mother using this computer it started the "dreaded repair loop". (also seems to be a common issue). No matter what you do, restart, ctrl alt delete, shut down etc it just keeps looping back to the repair loop. I will say Best Buy was great about the return. No questions asked, just refunded my money which I purchased a toshiba computer.

Computer is nice just dont find windows 8 user freindly.

I told more than one salesperson that there I lived (rural area) only had access to dial up internet. They all assured me it was compatible with windows 8 - it was not. This I learned after several flusterating hours of trying. I was told by the support 800 number and the geek store squad after purchase. Was able to return it to the store for a full refund. Customer service at return desk very nice.

Most people would knock this computer because of Windows 8. Windows 8 is based upon a touch interface in which this computer is not. Yes windows 8 does run clunky and awkward with a mouse and keyboard input. But this is a solid operating system running on a solid computer. I am certified by Microsoft in Operating Systems and currently working on a double baccuelture degree in computers. For the people who want to bash this computer due to the operating system. Is not right. Us windows 8 on a touch screen, and you will understand how functional it actually it is...And like I said before good laptop for the price and very stable operating system.

Bought in late August, brought it home and it took 20 minutes to load up google. Download Chrome, maybe it will be faster but NOPE. Tried to do a speedtest, and you know what, the WiFi was so bad, IT WOULDN'T EVEN LOAD! Maybe it is my internet connection, do a test with another, older, laptop in the same room, and it has off the charts speed. Take it to starbucks to use their WiFi, didn't work. So I send it back to HP, and a MONTH later they send it back, WITHOUT DOING A THING TO IT BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. So if you need a laptop that doesn't get on the internet, buy this. Will never buy from HP again.
