This is a great espresso maker. Makes perfect shots with plenty of crema. Very easy to use and cleanup is a breeze. The turbo frother was a little difficult for me to use so I just nuke the milk for a hot latte or pour it over ice for an iced latte. It uses premeasured, pretamped, capsules for ease of use and perfect results every time. Gaggia has teamed up with illy, who makes some darn good coffee, to make the capsules. They cost about .70 cents each which is double what espresso beans would cost, but the ease of use and the great results are well worth it. It seames to be constructed very well. Nothing has broke in the first month of it life. If you are looking for a simple maker or a great beginner machine that makes awesome espresso, look no further, this is your maker.

Fist I have to say that illy coffee is excellent. Along with the machine I purchased the dark and medium roast capsules. Both are very good, I prefer the medium for espresso and the dark for cappuccino's. The machine worked exactly as it was advertised. It is easy to use and makes absolutely NO MESS. You can make a very good froth for cappuccino's. The operation was easy and it took about 20 seconds to get the machine to steam temperature. There are lights on the buttons that tell you when it is at temperature for brewing and steaming. The drip tray can move up and down to adjust for your cup size, 3" and 4". The capsule goes into the top and the mechanics of the machine work smooth. When you put the capsule in it pushes the last capsule you used back and it drops into a used capsule container. I would highly recommend the illy coffee (all of their coffee) and machine.
