Great Value for 512MB DDR2 Video Card

Tremendously suprised by the card. Figured that you get what you pay for with a cheap card. Not so! This card exceeded all my expectations. Upgraded from a GeForce 6200 256MB PCI to the Galaxy 8400 512MB PCI-e card. What a difference. It plays video smoothly with no burps. Web page browsing is VERY fast loading. Even the text on the screen is clear (despite earlier reviews). Look, you can pay more if you need all the bells and whistles and so forth. I do game a little and I do some video editing. If you are a middle of the road user like me, then this card might be for you. If you are a power freak then move on. BTW, this card did not need any additional cabling or power supply upgrades unlike the more expensive cards. I would suggest updating the drivers with the CD provided - did seem to make a difference. Galaxy is a familiar brand to many gamers, but it is certainly not one of the best-known. Founded in 1994, Galaxy Technology manufactures video cards, motherboards, and TV tuners. Galaxy's video cards exclusively feature NVIDIA GeForce GPUs, and their motherboards exclusively feature NVIDIA nForce core logic. My PC is a Pentium Dual Core e2200, 4GB, 320GB EIDE WD HDD. I can't say enough that I really feel good about this card and think that I really got a great bargain.

i bought a computer to play games but i found that its only flaw was that its graphics card was bad. this is perfect for casual gamers, with its low price and easy to install. this can run lots of games like rome total war, dawn of war and combat arms flawlessly. it cant play the newest, most demanding titles like empire total war or supreme commander, but its perfect for anyone who dosen't know much about computers or dosen't want to spend a lot of money to play games.

    All around alright GPU

Its an OK GPU for the price. I mean you get perfect preformance with max graphics on games like: Star Wars battlefront I, Star wars republic commando, Starwars battlefront II had a little lag. but thats cause I have a rather large screen res. it handles Crysis on low with a 900 by 600 res. so not really a GPU for more modern games. with extreamly good graphics. I got this card because I had a 300 Wat power supply. but if you have a better Power suply its worth it to get a better card.

Needed to replace a GeForce 7600 GS so we bought this on sale. Great price and very easy to install. 10 minutes total. Ran right away. No problems at all. This is not a high performance gamer but it works fine on COD4, Far Cry and others.

All in all it is a very good card...for the casual gamer that I am. Every now and then the video "skips" a bit, not real bad or very often, just enough to notice. The game I play most is CoD4 and it's the only game that the skipping happens. I am very happy with the card. It installed really easy, even for an old man like me.

The card zapped my MB. Customer Service told me to contact the manufacturer of my power supply. But the card had a burnt smell to it. My computer worked fine for 4 years without any problem until I installed their card. And they tried to blame it on my power supply without knowing anything at all about my computer. The power spec for the card was 300W minimum, Mypower supply was rated at 305W. We exchanged a number of emails, but to no avail. Their email told me to call customer service. Their customer service to me to send an email. So the lesson is. They probably have good customer service. That is, until you need it.

Returned this product twice to Best Buy just in case the first was bad, but still had major performance problems in games and apps. I guess a good price doesn't mean good performance. Instead I bought the PNY version and it's worked fine since.

Card does great when rendering graphics, even runs Fallen Earth smoothly. The problem with this thing is that text on the desktop, word processors and in web pages appears fuzzy even after installing NVidia's latest drivers.

    Graphics card not as advertised

Graphics card was advertised as PCI Express x1. Graphics card actually was PCI Express x16 which would not fit my motherboard. I ordered it on line for pickup at the store. I picked it up and brought it home where I opened it. It was not what was ordered. I had to pack it up and return it to the store. It was time consuming and it cost me about $20 in gas to pick it up and return it.
