I finally got over my disappointment at the series ending...I waited so long to see the "Ice Spiders, Big as Dogs" and saw not a one. Nonetheless...I have all the rest on BluRay.... so it was time to complete the set....Overall rating for the entire series...10....this season great...to a point... It's OK...I'll get over it eventually and will then be able to enjoy it all, start to finish.

I was a late bloomer to the whole GOT universe, but as they say, better late than never. Regardless of the negativity, I really enjoyed this season. Yeah, a few things could have been better, but all in all, they brought everything to a nice closure. The long night and as the city crumbles, was amazing. Since they are not redoing the season, not a bad option to just buy it.

Beloved Game of Thrones speeds to an ending

The presentation here is great, as it usually is with HBO shows, and for those who own all 7 previous seasons, it will probably be hard to pass up owning this one, even if you don’t like the ending. Yes, this season is troubled, to say the least, but for those who invested 8 years watching the lives (and sometimes deaths) of the Starks and other Westeros characters unfold, it will be hard not to want to see it through to the very end. First, I have to say that the ending itself deserves reconsidering. The show became famous for thwarting expectations and killing off sacred characters, even as early as the first season, so it shouldn’t be a dealbreaker for true fans that the character you may have been rooting for didn’t end up on the Iron Throne (avoiding spoilers as much as possible here). Game of Thrones has been serving up hard-to-swallow pills all along, and the last episode is probably no exception—but I hope fans won’t throw out the whole series if they’re dissatisfied (personally, I was not). The biggest problem by far, and I don’t know how many would disagree, is that this season feels really, really rushed. When the series started, it was about 10 episodes per season, then it dropped in recent seasons down to 8—this one is only 6. They add about 20 minutes to most episodes and expect it should make up the difference, but it really doesn’t. For 7 years, the series has crawled toward the finish line, then in the last season they choose to sprint. It’s jarring, or it was for me. The invasion of the White Walkers that has taken up so much focus in the last two seasons, and has been threatened since the first, is concluded in three episodes here, and while I found that third episode (“The Long Night”) the peak of the season, it still feels like it’s suddenly finished. Many people were irritated or even outraged by the character arc of Daenerys, and while I believed it, I can’t argue with anyone who felt betrayed. I think the show creators were hoping for surprise and instead they triggered fury. It would have been better if the signals had been planted further back in the show’s history. But whether this last season ruined Game of Thrones for you or just left you a bit disappointed, that’s your decision. Or maybe you’re one of those rare fans who liked how it all turned out—but I’m not putting money on that. I read all the available books and enjoyed the series from the first season, though it started to feel like the returns were diminishing around Season 5. My guess is this is pretty similar to the ending George R. R. Martin planned, but it will be a long while before anyone can say for sure. I look forward to watching the whole series again at a future point and reevaluating Season 8. I doubt I will change my mind about the flaws, but anyone who followed the adventures of Arya, Jon, Sansa, Daenerys, and Tyrion for years, there had to be some ending—even if it wasn’t what we hoped for.

By now, everybody knows how Game of Thrones ends, with many viewers complaining about that ending. For me, the ending seemed completely justified and motivated with pretty much everybody getting what they deserved. It was a great series with lots of character portrayal (and not just violence) and character development. This final season continued those virtues.

Love this series. It's definitely Adult material. Nudity, Language, etc. But tells many stories within the series. Love, drama, fighting, comedy, all in one. Love the time period, imagination and it leaves you wanting more! If you haven't watched this Series...give it a chance...I didn't think I would either...but it's definitely now one of I'm Favorites.

This is definitely NOT the best season but I couldn't pass up the 4k steelbook. I was really disappointed with the ending of one of my favorite TV series but all good things must come to an end. And thanks to Best Buy for the price match from Amazon. I would recommend only if you are a fan of it but other than that....don't get it. I still love the series though.

I own all previous DVD sets of Game of Thrones so just had to complete my eight season collection. Lots of different opinions about the ending to this fantastic and popular show but I thought it was good. I’m going to miss seeing a new season coming out but will always enjoy re watching this entire series. Great TV and a DVD set worth owning.

Game of Thrones, Season 8, Steel Book edition is an awesome buy and completes my collection. No doubt the Game of Thrones will go down as one of the greatest TV dramas ever made. Brilliant story line, great acting, drama, tragedy and suspense, with failures, successes and unbelievable action scenes. It is entertainment, extraordinaire.

The battle scene was overdone and filming was too dark, seems like season 8 was just thrown together. Also all of the "nubs" that hold the disks in place in the case were broken and Best Buy store policy would not make an exchange so now my disks are in individual jewel cases to avoid getting scratched. I should have just watched this on On-Demand

Because of the internationally reported issues with compression artifacts rendering mush of The Long Dark Night episode impossible to see clearly, I opted for the 4K bluray to eliminate such artifacts. And it turned out to be the right decision. I got to see the episode clearly for the first time. This is how the fimal season should be viewed!

The first 5 episodes are really good, but the last episode is disappointing. I should probably recommend that the film maker must have an alternate ending when it released on the Blu-ray/DVD disc given the fact that during HBO viewing of the last episode was not great for the fans. Anyway, it's still recommended for entertainment purposes.

Well we made it to the final season of HBO Game of Thrones, now I know there are a lot of people who disliked it a lot. I actually didn't hate it like some. The Hound and Mountain was awesome. The picture quality on the 4k is amazingly different then watching it live on HBO. Recommended for all Game of Thrones fans.

The entire series was amazing! Every segment was a stepping stone to a different ending? The question always was, which one benefited the most people’s with the greatest chance of future success? It was no surprise that the conclusion was not on anyone’s radar. Certainly not mine But a great story is it’s own reward.

Last season... I wish it wasn't ending as this was such a good series. If you liked the earlier seasons then you should like this as well. I hope that they do some follow-up of spin off with the remaining cast... even if they have to wait a few years to let them "age" into some new drama/action/suspense!!!

While it certainly isn't the final season we wanted, it's the final season we got. It most certainly could've given more answers to plots and stories from previous seasons, but it ties things up for the most part. Now let's bring on the spin-offs!

Everyone has complained about the final season of GOT. Nope. It didn't end as we would have wanted it to but after 8 seasons the cast and crew should be a congratulated. There are some seriously fantastic episodes (The Long Night) that should not be missed as well as the fantastic documentary The Last Watch.

A few weeks ago I went and purchased what I thought was the complete set of game of thrones... lol. Not realizing the set only included seasons 1 thru 7. Not to worry. Now I bought the season 8 of game of thrones and going to binge watch all the blu rays over the christmas holidays. Life is good.

Game of Thrones Season 8 - a bit of a mixed bag

The final season in the GOT saga. Let's jump in; Pros; 1. Good quality audio and video, compared to the aired version that was criticized for being to dark, the Blu Ray version is just right 2. Lots of character plots and definitely a large amount of both physical and CGI work in the sets and FX. 3. Some surprises, i'll let those be a surprise 4. Each disk has some bonus content, make of it what you will, some is great and brings more to the game, others bonus features, not so much, so a mixed bag of bonuses Cons; 1. Short, with only 6 episodes it hardly qualifies as a "Season", more like a mini-series 2. Really cheap packaging, unlike the previous seasons that typically came in nice boxes with covers and extras, and those weren't even the limited edition ones, making the season 8 seem short, rushed, poorly presented and for any collector, a disappointment to the end of the collection. 3. I am guessing this is why they rolled out all these different $250-$350 dollar "Complete 8 season sets", and to a huge collector like myself, i am growing tired of this, constant repackaging of series. it brings to mind the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, were it seemed like every other year some "new" remastered version came out vying for your money, same goes for the Fast and Furious series, Terminator, Star Wars and a host of others. I find this to be a despicable way of repacking the almost identical material and charging a premium price for it, so you may see a lot of season 1 thru 7 series collections or individual seasons pop up on ebay and other sites for those who want to get the newest complete 8 season set without having another particle set laying around taking up space, on a positive note, this gives people who dont want to spend a fortune a great way to get the series second hand, so a bit of a silver lining. and with that, i say its worth getting regardless of being a collector or just someone that wants to SEE the last season.

All true fans are aware of some of the issues with the storyline for the final season. But this is without a doubt once of the best HBO series. If you have all of the other seasons - you have got to complete your collection with the 8th and final season. This is a series that will be missed.
