Best show on TV and price for steelbook was great happy to now own

Season 6 of Game of Thrones is the first season without "a net" in the published works of George R.R. Martin. While Martin helped greatly with the plot, there was no book for fans to follow from. Big things are happening in the world of Game of Thrones. Evil is rising in the far north. The dead are brought back to life (in a good way!). The wicked are gaining more and more power. The epic confrontations are happening left and right. And the battle to end all battles is coming!

Hate the packaging; no disc should ever be sitting directly on top of another. This can lead to unnecessary disc scratching. That aside, what a season, especially episode 10 (without much question, the very best episode of the series)!! The special features alone are worth the upgrade to Blu-ray!! Every commentary is highly entertaining, the Legends & Lore- astounding, the in-episode guides are super helpful when not knowing a specific character... Get it!! Don't Miss out!!

The discs themselves are great just like previous seasons of the show. Great quality picture and sound with a bunch of extras including some really nice animated histories this year in a slightly different style than previous years. The exclusive packaging was kind of disappointing and not as cool as the house sigils Best Buy has had for every other season. It is basically a clear plastic outer package containing a magnet for Braavos with the steelbook inside. The steelbook is nice but its a pain to get everything out and back in the package if you want to keep everything together. It also doesn't really match the previous releases at all on your shelf, the spine of the regular release would probably go better The package itself is thinner and takes up much less shelf space than previous seasons though which some might see as a plus. I would have preferred to have another house sigil though or a repeat of one like Greyjoy that was only used for season 2.

This show is still very good but it is getting weary in some places. The steelbook sucks though, the magnet is cheap and slides down and the discs have to be stacked on each other

At the suggestion of others, including our kids, we started off on the G.O.T. series a couple years ago, by buying the dvd season collections. We finished Season 5 just as Season 6 was airing. So we have had to wait until this season was released on dvd. While we have not watched it yet (will be a Christmas break binge-watch), if it is anywhere near the last 5 seasons, it will end up a must-see.

For the first 5 seasons, I purchased the Best Buy exclusive House Sigil covers for the blu-ray sets. However, for some reason, Best Buy did not offer the House Sigil covers for the sixth season. As a result, I purchased the steelbook edition, which represented different locations of the series. This season represents the City of Braavos with a Braavos coin magnet. The steelbook is in a matching decorative plastic outer case that holds the magnet in place so it doesn't scratch the steelbook. The outer plastic case is thick and hopefully harder to crack. Overall, this is a quality steelbook and a welcome edition to any collection... hopefully they'll offer the sigil covers for the remaining seasons.

As always, Game of Thrones never ceases to disappoint. There is an option to put this series on VUDU and always have on your phone/laptop/Ipad. We always have hard copies in case the internet goes out or if VUDU goes out of business. ( doubt they will, but it's a nice insurance to have ). Recommended for the Game of Thrones Fans.

The steel box version included a collectible coin and was a nice bonus. The Season 6 box set is the latest installment of this excellant HBO Series. I bingewatched the the whole season the day after I bought it. The packaging is cool and well worth the purchase price. I highly recommend the series for anyone who likes the novels.

The Game of Thrones will go down as one of the best cable TV series ever to hit the airwaves. A collectors item for sure and one that you'll be watching again and again over the years. Second to none with the drama, suspense and overall story line of this made for cable extravaganza. Be advised this is an adult rated series.

From the first episode, this season takes the story from the previous one and builds it up towards the final episode. The characters continue to develop, and the major character deaths help the plot move to the shows final two seasons. Definitely a must-watch for Game of Throne fans everywhere!

Game of Thrones is an HBO juggernaut and season 6 shows you why. This season is a little different than past seasons because now the TV watchers are now caught up with the Book readers and it's anyone's guess as to what happens next! This is a must own for GoT fans. Can't wait for season 7!

This is a fantastic box even if it is a bit pricier than the standard edition. I am a bit disappointed that the sigil covers are no longer available but this box is a bit easier to store. It's smaller and easier to open. For the series, season 6 has been the best season yet!

This steel book version comes with a collectors magnet, as well as an electronic version. The solid case makes it very attractive on my shelf. The Blu-Ray picture is just breath taking. A must have for any avid collector of this series or a breathtaking gift.

GoT Season 6 is a clear step up from its previous season which itself was a cut above seasons 3 and 4, in my opinion. These steel book collector's editions are good in quality and the audio and video are both top notch. I'd recommend this to any GoT fan.

So glad to see this steelbook line continue to release as I have seasons 1-5 in the same collectible packaging. This was a decent season in the game of thrones TV series. Felt like quite a bit of filler and set-up for the big showdowns and finale coming up.

The sixth season brings a lot of unanswered questions to a end. The "Game of Thrones" series has been one of the most entertaining programs produced by HBO ever . I recommend this sixth season to buy, and the rest of them, it will never become boring.

Just as I do every year I bought this newest season of GOT because when I find a show or movie of such quality I must have a hard copy. I watched the season as it aired and watched it again once on bluray and it was just as good as I remembered.

What a season ! I'm not sure where to begin. Dolby Atmos audio rocks! On the fence about upgrading, DO IT. I couldn't stop watching this had to binge on it. Best buy has an exclusive sale of season 5-6 steelbooks. If its on sale run and get it.

If you are a fan of the series you probably already own all 6 seasons on Blu Ray but if you are a hardcore fan you'll want the Steelbooks as well. The Magnets with Each Season Feature a Crest for each house in Westeros lore. Great Collectible!
