The new UHD set from Warner Home Video of the acclaimed HBO fantasy drama is a thing of beauty, especially in this limited edition steelbook set. The packaging on Season Eight is a bit frustrating (did you guys run out of multidisc trays?), but overall the steelbooks look great, as does the outer case that houses them. As for the series, what can I say that hasn't been said yet? Yes, the last two seasons aren't up to the level of the first six and yes, you have to wonder what they were thinking when they came up with some of the conclusion to the story arcs of the main characters. But even diminished seasons of "Game of Thrones" are still better than most other shows are during their height of creativity. The transfers are fantastic, looking and sounding better than ever. Free of the horrible compression issues that plagued the series during its run on HBO, the episodes really shine in 4K. And if you have the time for them, most of the extensive selection of supplemental material from the previous home video release are here as well. It's a pricey set, but it is well worth it -especially if you can find it on sale- for diehard fans of the series. Winter is coming, you might as well have something worthwhile to watch.

Crown yourself with the penultimate 4k steelbook set of Gots, one of the most compelling television shows ever to grace our tubes. My steelbook set does not have a single dent on it due to how best buy shipped this to the stores- it was still in the brown shipper box with foam padding when I picked it up at my local best buy. If your a game of thrones fan (ya the final season was not good but the bar was set too high and the writers failed them) then this is the end all be all of sets to own. You wont find a better one out there ever especially with 4k being the end of the line for physical media. The individual steelbooks are gorgeous, the outer casing is a little reserved but classy and displays wonderfully. The video quality is stellar, much better the quality we got from hbo. Dolby vision really pops on these transfers, the detail will blow your mind- gone are the crushed blacks and drab colors.- its like watching gots for the forst time all over again. This steelbook set is definitely a set made for a king. Just dont have it shipped unless you don't mind dents on the outer casing because they definitely wont be packaged like they when shipped directly to the stores.

The top of the case that holds the SteelBooks is bowed due to shipping. I have to remove Seasons 2+3 in order to get Season 1 out because the bow made Season 1 hard to pull out. Not happy paying $239.99 and having Season 8 discs stacked on top of each other and the digital copy being HDX and NOT in UHD as their ad stated.

Got it shipped.. Came in perfect shape. With all the disc. Half way through the series watching on the 4k disc, and have no skipping issues. Best this show has ever looked an the steelbooks are nice but could of been more, i think they cheaped out on it. My Biggest complaint and why id deduct a star is that the last season has stacked disc. Every Season has the disc separated but then they stack the last season.. why? And that it does not come with 4k code.

Bought this for my dad. He absolutely loves it! Might have to get one for my self.

The packaging was high-quality. The only negative at all was no digital code was inside as stated. But the digital code for GOT is HD and not 4K for some reason and since I already had HD digital code from an earlier purchase of GOT on blu-ray disks, I let it slide. For the stiff price of the package the digital code should have been for UHD. As I said, that was the only negative. Seeing GOT - the whole series - in 4K with Dolby Atmos was a total joy. I binged the entire series and I liked the show (and understood it better) more than the first time through. Incredible production.

The Dolby Atmos audio tracks on these discs sound improved over the Blu ray versions. The picture quality, although not true 4k, is amazingly good with little to no black crush in darker scenes and this is without using Dolby Vision. If your 4k player and TV both support Dolby Vision, give it a shot and maybe you'll like what you see. For me, my Panasonic player does HDR, pixel Tone mapping and I'm letting it do all the fancy stuff to generate the best picture on a LG OLED panel. All the subtle color details of wardrobes & sets looks stunning. The CGI of the dragons really comes to life too. The disc menu system is less cluttered and now allows quicker access to the content compared to the prior Blu ray releases. This box set is pricey due to the individual steel box cases and the limited production storage unit ... so if you want to save some money, pick up the non-steel box set in the more traditional black plastic, 4k covers, It's worth it if you have the equipment to do it justice!

I have an older GOT set of blu rays that comprised all of the seasons except the final one. So I was glad to not only finally get the final season (which everyone complained about, although I don't know why since they pretty much foretold this ending since the beginning) but to get everything in such shocking clarity and crispness. I am running these on an OLED TV with a Blu Ray player that supports Dolby Vision, and it's the best I've ever seen it look. I never did watch it live when it was on, I started into it after the fact and was usually a season or two behind when it was still on the air. So I've always seen streaming, files, or my old Blu Rays that were not this high of a quality. I love the steelbook boxes, so much better than the normal cardboard or plastic things most sets use. If you are a fan of the show, and want t see it in the best possible format to date, this is a fantastic set to do it with.

This box is tremendous for its breadth of viewable material alone. Viewed on a large 4k oled is breathtaking. The only downside to my buying experience was the packaging. This was shipped to me with bubble wrap surrounding only three sides of the product so of course, the unprotected side had a dent in the corner. A disappointment there.

I got this box set on a deep discount sale. Think they were having troubles moving them after that last season. It looks GREAT in 4K. But you can't fix a decreased quality in writing. The box art looks really great, with each season steelbook featuring artwork depicting an iconic item from each. My only gripe is that while this is a 4K set, the digital version codes are only for HD.

Show looks wonderful on 4K!! Unfortunately. Disc 1, Season 2 will not play at all---keep gettting a message that disc is defective even after wiping with soft cloth---will return for exchange at store, hopefully.

This is a very nice set and I’m lucky to have had little damage to the outer case, no damage to steelbooks and no missing discs. My one issue with this set is the way the discs are stacked in season 8. The season 8 steelbook crams in 3 4K discs and 3 Blu-ray special features discs. Every disc should have its own slot like all the other discs in seasons 1-7.

Game of Thrones is my favorite series. I had the series already in my movie collection, but it was a mix of dvd, and blue ray formats. Actually came across this set looking for something else, and it was on sale. No brainer for me since I wanted to upgrade the series to a 4k format, but haven't been able to do. Very happy on the purchase. Love the box the whole series comes in, the steelbook cases are great for each season, making the eye appeal great, and the viewing experience is jaw dropping. Not the most expensive set available, but in my opinion the best way to upgrade this series to 4K, and getting a nice compact way to display it. Very happy with the purchase, and getting it on sale.

Not easy to find one that is in good cosmetic condition. I must say the people who work at Best Buy really don't care much about collectors buying this item. Most sale associates would just rudely say "They are all the same" and hand you one that is heavily dented (can you believe for a steelbook to get dented?)

This is one of my top TV series and the picture and audit is way better than what you get on HBO Max. Be though for the look out for missing discs. In my first shipment, I did not have any discs for one of the seasons. For another one of the seasons, the first shipment did not have 1 of the four discs in that season. The second shipment of this set had each of the discs.

I love the show, until the late seasons... No problem there. But Best Buy reeeeaaaalllly needs to upgrade their shipping method. They're officially notorious for this now. No packing material, just my collector's edition box set loose in a giant box, slamming around during shipping. A few dents in the outer casing. Please take more care when shipping my expensive box sets!

The collection came in perfect condition, with no dents or missing disks. The display case is beautiful and embossed with dragons on 3 sides and a beautiful GoT title on the top. Each season metal case is snug in its slot so might tight a little more pulling to get them out, the foam should relax overtime to make removing the seasons easier. Each season case is stunning in its own right. The digital code for the complete series is just one code. (Wish others would do that) The audio is stunning in Dolby Atmos (once I connected via HDMI) The Image quality is beyond stunning and awe-inspiring. Using a 65 inch Samsung Q90T perfect combo for sure.

Very happy to get the steel book version of this show. The only issue I had with it was mine did not come with the digital code for some reason. But in my personal case I already had the digital version. Still taking off a star for that though because someone else probably would have been a little more frustrated.

The individual cases for this collection are very nice, but the case they are housed in leaves much to be desired. It's too plain and can't tell what it even is when on the shelf with the rest of my movie and tv collection. As such I'm keeping just the cases on the shelf and dumped the box into a closet. Sort of wish I got the standard 4K boxset.

Decided on exclusive Best Buy Steelbook set as I didn’t care for the standard set’s stacked discs. steelbook designs are lackluster, expected more for exclusive set. first set I purchased had a defective Season 1 disc 2, no menu option to select & play episodes. Season 2 of same set was missing all the discs! Local Best Buy allowed me to check the exchange set in store to ensure all discs were included. Tested discs at home, so far so good. Hoping they don’t freeze up or skip later viewing complete episodes. It’s a hit or miss with these sets. Unfortunately Season 8 has stacked discs & difficult to remove. I recommend opening your set at store to ensure all discs are included to save a repeat trip & immediately test all discs (14 day return policy). The 4K itself is definitely worth it, excellent picture & sound quality, including Season 8’s The Long Night episode! This is the way Game of Thrones was meant to be viewed!
