Really fun throwback to have in your hands to play the original super Mario. Pretty reasonable price and plays good. Has a built in clock to see the time. Plays different scenes when the clock is on.

This is a nice collectible piece of fun. This unit has both the original Mario Brothers and Mario Brothers 2. Though this unit as a whole is a fun collectible, I also have to point out the gameplay deficiencies. The sound doesn't sound like the original NES game though it doesn't lag like the NES classic. Another thing is that there is graphic errors that show up on this unit that did not show up on the original NES game or the NES classic. I would say the emulation on this unit is actually a bit worse than the NES classic, though I'm pretty sure people are buying this for more of a collectible factor than actual function. The controls are actually fairly decent and functional as I got to world 8-2 on this unit which is pretty good considering how tiny this unit and its controls are. The screen is pretty decent and doesn't look blurry like some other emulation machines. For most people it would be an average rating, but for those that grew up with Nintendo I would say it's good. The range is more around 2-4 depending on how partial you are to Nintendo, your nitpickiness for proper emulation and sound, and how something controls.

More than a novelty.

I thought this was going to be more of a novelty toy and collector item, but I can't stop playing it. The controls are great and there is no lag that I can tell. The sprites look very sharp on the small screen. Colors are more vibrant than the NES classic version, which may not be accurate but looks pleasing on the small screen. The only thing I wish for would be an alarm function for the clock. The clock is a novelty but it does come in handy to see how much I stayed up past my bedtime.
Probably not worth the money for everyone, but I think it's really neat and I've gotten more playtime out of trying to beat world 8 than many other full priced games I've bought.

This is for fans and collectors mainly. I like the two included Mario games. I grew up with the first game and have played the lost levels so I'm very familiar with them. They are kinda hard to play on this due to it's small size however, it's doable. The screen is clear and vibrant also has options to lower volume which sounds good considering its a very small speaker and brightness to conserve power. Which is charged via a usb-c cable that comes with it. Overall pretty neat if you like this kind of stuff.

Nostalgic twice over!

I grew up borrowing Game & Watches from friends and played Super Mario Bros. with our first Nintendo System. This device had me nostalgic twice over in a single device. I guess Nintendo fans would purchase this as a collector's item (as I did). It doesn't offer much gaming wise. Build quality is good, sound can be loud (and annoying in Watch mode). Controls are small and uncomfortable after playing long hours. The screen is really small though -- but better compared to playing Lode Runner on an iPod Nano screen. If only Nintendo would offer uploading of other 8-bit games then this device would be a steal for its price.

Nintendo channels it's legacy with a perfect stocking stuffer. You can be assured of high quality product here along with amazing packaging. It comes with 3 games and has manual options for volume and screen brightness. It also uses USB-C for recharging the unit and has a battery indicator on the screen. The clock itself has Easter eggs that many Nintendo fans will enjoy. In addition, there is a secret on the clocks menu, where if you hold the A button, you will be taken to the "Drawing Mario Song", from Flipnote Studio 2010. The only thing missing was the kickstand like the original G&W had. Highly recommended and a good get for collectors.

Love it, super charming and really fun to play Mario on. It's really cool to see these kinds of throwbacks, and it's refreshing to play on a device that does very few things. There's so much that can distract you on a modern PC or console, this is like having your first gameboy and only having a small handful of games to play. No internet, no updates, no settings, it's great.
The tiny updates to the games (like being able to jump back to the last world you were on & start with unlimited lives) are really great, and it's pretty fun to be able to take it out at any time and instantly be playing mario.

If you're a long time Nintendo fan then this is a GREAT addition to your collection! The display is so colorful and bright for something so small, it's pretty incredible especially since it's so small. It's also got some great sound, I think it's mono but it's really good, they must've put in a decent speaker they would use in a smartphone.
Just a warning there is NO way to add more games, the USB C port on the device only connects it to power and has no direct data lines to the SoC. But hey I'm more than happy to use this console for what it is.

I grew up playing with the Game & Watch games so this little system is definitely a wonderful hit of nostalgia. Being a Nintendo product, it is definitely high quality and looks exactly like the old G&W systems. There are fun little Easter eggs and I am glad they included the true Super Mario Bros. 2 game.
I feel it is a little pricey at $49.99 as I believe it is more appropriate at $39.99, but that is just my opinion. I was so happy when this was announced and I don't regret purchasing it. This little system looks so good next to my old G&W games.

Better than expected. It's the real game with good sound and great picture. Very fun to play. Everybody should own one.
The people complaining that they can't see the screen must be blind. I can see the screen easily from 20 feet away and read the clock.
The price is reasonable for that you get. The battery life seems to be pretty good. You can save your game play and also get infinite life's with a simple code. You can warp to any world after you beat it, by, simply holding down B at the main menu.

Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. exactly what it says on the box, a small LCD game system that plays an excellent version of the original Super Mario Bros. The screen is tiny, but just large enough to be able to play well, and the buttons have excellent response. The overall unit is solid and has a high quality, metalic feel to it. In addition to the original game, you also get the Japanese sequel (Lost Levels), a Mario version of the Game & Watch classic "Ball", and a fun clock feature which has animations of Mario interacting with his foes.
There are plenty of other ways to experience Super Mario Bros. and its sequels on a larger screen, so this won't appeal to everyone, but Mario fans will get a kick out of it, at least for a little while. At the very least it's a fun collectable to break out every so often.

Great for collectors. It is not even a casual gamer item to me. It does have some novelty value. I'll add it to my desk as a fun clock and a conversation starter but nothing else. It will probably go back to its box eventually. Not a limited item neither so it might not be good as an investment if that's what you're looking for. An all-around well-built nostalgic item, with great battery life, and a historic piece in Nintendo's console development process.

I have really liked using this as a small game console to help pass the time, and as someone who likes this era of Nintendo games/ history, it is a great collectors item. A bit pricey at full price, but if you can snag it on sale I think it is a fun little time killer. I was quite surprised at how high quality the screen was on it, and it can go for a long time without charging. All in all if you like Mario you will enjoy this
