Great for collectors. It is not even a casual gamer item to me. It does have some novelty value. I'll add it to my desk as a fun clock and a conversation starter but nothing else. It will probably go back to its box eventually. Not a limited item neither so it might not be good as an investment if that's what you're looking for. An all-around well-built nostalgic item, with great battery life, and a historic piece in Nintendo's console development process.

this “game and watch: super mario bros” console has a combination of classic design from “game and watch” and nintendo famicom, red casing, golden metal plate, black d-pad, grey option buttons, as well as red round game buttons; also, this console has exactly the same size as classic “game and watch”, nintendo fans must love it! it includes the “ball” game, which was the very first game of “game and watch”, but the character in this version became mario! so it’s a combination of “ball” (1980) and “mario the juggler” game (1991) the “ball” game plays with only 2 buttons (left/right), i could either control it with the d-pad (left/right) or a/b buttons, or even combination of d-pad/a/b buttons there are also 2 super mario bros game included, however i found i’m too old to play mario bros in such tiny 2.5 inches screen, so i sticked only to the “ball” game, i believe “game and watch” console is only good for “game and watch” games, or else it would be a pain in playing much detailed game with it, no way enjoyable to me i was going to use it as a desktop clock when i ordered it, i even prepared a console stand for it! however, i just found it would turn off automatically after 3 minutes idle, unless i plug in the usb-c cable, i was quite disappointed about it, i don’t want a wired clock! it’s quite enjoyable to watch the clock screen running, good way to kill time in watching mario/luigi run around the screen, i found i could create more enemies to make mario/luigi busy by pressing game control buttons, it’s very funny, you should try it there may be surprises when minute changes, also it will show different goodbye screens before it sleeps £49.99 is not cheap for a simple game console like this, but it’s definitely a collective memory of those post-70s/80s kids

I have really liked using this as a small game console to help pass the time, and as someone who likes this era of Nintendo games/ history, it is a great collectors item. A bit pricey at full price, but if you can snag it on sale I think it is a fun little time killer. I was quite surprised at how high quality the screen was on it, and it can go for a long time without charging. All in all if you like Mario you will enjoy this

More fun than I thought it would be. Cool low tech/high tech item. Low tech being not connected, only has a couple games, etc. but a very high tech little package. Great for you if you are an old schooler and don't need 1000's of games, etc. I was on the fence for a long time and finally accumulated enough points to get this mostly for free. Worth it if you have rewards points to burn. $50 may be on the high side though.

Great! It's pretty tiny, but is perfect to go into a pocket if you need something to pass the time someplace (like if you're in line for something). It's also a cool 35th anniversary Mario collectible! My only gripe is that if you want to see the initial screen that comes up when you turn it on (a cool custom Mario art), you have to reset the device. Other than that, pretty cool!

An neat little thing. Feels premium, with a solid build and packaging that oozes charm. The games are stretched to 4:3 and that can't be adjusted, which I don't like, but the picture quality itself is good enough that it's not an issue at all. It's nice and crisp. But it should be noted that it's a collectible first and a way to play games second. It doesn't hold its value if you look at it as a portable gaming console, but as a novelty for Mario enthusiasts it's great. The lack of a stand is a bit disappointing as well but it's a minor issue all things considered.

For anybody who loves retro gaming, the original NES, or Mario Bros, this item is perfect. This handheld device contains Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels, along with an addictive low tech game. The picture is great, and it can fit in your pocket. Being rechargable also helps. Just to note, this is not a Gameboy, nor does it allow for additional games.

This little thing is AWESOME!! The emulation is spot-on for Super Mario and Mario 2. Ball has become a household favorite with my son and I competing for high scores. It's really compact, sturdy, and very well made. You can't beat this little gem. And the fact that it takes me back in time to being a kid and wanting a game and watch for Christmas... is a plus as well!

A trip down memeory lane with a modern twist. This is based on the old game and watch series, but now comes with the original Super Mario Bros and the lost levels. The old cup and ball game is included too. The games are classics so you know what you're getting and this thing is really small. Fun that first in your pocket. A great Nintendo collectible.

Great nostalgia video game with a good display. Mostly use the original SMB because I never got used to SMB2, but still good to have, and Ball game is not as fun as it might have used to be. Control is nice and close to original. 2 things I don't like as much: 1. the buttons are soft-touch like old style calculators and seem to get sticky or collect fuzz after a while. I don't know, would prefer NES type buttons. 2. The opening for the speaker is on the left side and tends to be obstructed by your finger in which case you lose sound.

This is a really cool collector's item! Keep in mind, though, that that is exactly what it is: a collector's item. It definitely plays Super Mario Bros. well! But if you just wanna play Mario, there are many cheaper ways. But as a piece of Nintendo history for fanatics and collectors, this thing is awesome, well-built, and plays well!

It’s surprisingly well made for what it is. And a great call back to the days of the original game and watches. The Mario games and Ball are still fun, and the Time clock is very cool. Would love to just plug this thing in and leave it somewhere as a clock. It’s a great collectors piece for Mario’s 35th anniversary.

A great piece of nostalgia. If you are looking for a collector's item, the box looks fantastic and should stay in great shape on a shelf. If you're looking for a fun gadget to play and display, this is it! While nothing 'special' in the sense of nothing new from Nintendo, it is a neat little system.

As someone who had an original game and watch back in the 80's, this was an impulse nostalgia purchase. Granted that the game and watch that I had originally received as a child was the dual screen Donkey Kong one, it's still great to see Nintendo release this. Gone is the monochrome screen that my original one had. This is a fully colored screen, and similar controls to the original. The pad itself looks like an old school NES (Nintendo Entertainment System - 1980's) controller. There are some quality of life improvements such as volume, brightness, battery indicator, and it charges via a USB-C cable. The packaging is great! The games included are the original Super Mario Bros, the Lost Levels, and Ball, which is a very old school looking juggling game. All in all, I love the effort Nintendo put into releasing something so retro. The build quality is definitely there. The colors of the small handheld pop, and it's definitely worth picking up for people who grew up with game and watches, and for those who just love retro games.
