I purchased three of these dash cams in total because of the reliability. I have one that replaced the cobra sc200 in my wife's vehicle, I have one mounted in my 2018 Dodge Ram, and I also have one installed in my work vehicle a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia. The Simplicity in use is great, the connectability to your cell phone is somewhat stable. The app is extremely easy to use and Records directly to the cloud if connected to your phone. The cameras were well worth the price.

I chose the Garmin 47 Dash Cam because it had the features that I wanted at a good price. Besides the history of Garmin in navigation spectrum, it was easy to pick them. I’m impressed with this little dash cam. I like the feature that tells you that the traffic is moving, lane departure and collision warnings, as well as the parking guard that detects movement while parked. ! Installation was straight forward. However, I did use a constant power adapter that is connected to my OBD port. All in all, great purchase!

Bought this on Black Friday price , needed a reliable dashcam and this fit the bill. Read a lot of reviews with other brands but garmin always stick to me for reliability . Very easy to mount and configure to your phone . Though you need to download the garmin connect and garmin drive app to view everything from the dashcam.

Good dash cam. I like incident detection, traffic is moving, too close to other cars, and parked mode. There are a lot of features that work really good and a lot of settings such as turning down the sensitivity of the incident detection or if you find it annoying you can disable it all together. I have it plugged into my usb port and as soon as I get in my car it boots up, when you’ve been sitting for awhile or park it has a built in battery and automatically goes into parking. Only thing I dislike about this dash cam is that their app is useless. It’s impossible to get it to connect and many other people have commented on this. Luckily it has a micro SD card an if I need to review footage I can just pull it out.

This dash cam is beyond useless. I have only gotten it to connect to my phone a single time out of countless attempts. I enter my hotspot password and it says authenticating for an excessively long time before just saying “enter password again” rinse and repeat. The videos i need saved will not show up in the gallery on the cam itself and wont show up in the app til it connects to wifi which i cannot do. Why on earth you cant just do this with bluetooth is lightyears beyond me. So i take the sd card inside put in my laptop and nothing saved to it either. Not a single function of this camera works. This camera functions worse than a $20 unbranded chinese dash cam but costs 8x more because it has a name on it. Stay away from this product, it is utter trash.

Solid Garmin Dash Cam

Does a good job of its primary duty, recording what it's pointed at. 140 degree field of vision seems adequate, judge for yourself from the pics. Overall if you like Garmin products, this one seems up to their usual standards.
I'm still exploring its features and how to use them, but here is my feelings so far:
- Parking guard just seems way too sensitive and just shutting a door triggers it, which seems to then trigger multiple app notifications.
- Lane assist has been triggering at odd times, perhaps due not quite proper aiming. After looking at some videos, I have re-aimed it and hopefully those go away.
- I am still evaluating voice commands. When I tried it for the Travelapse feature, it seemed to record it, but I don't recall any cues coming from the device and didn't know it even worked until I reviewed the footage by plugging it into my PC.
- Perhaps I have too many Bluetooth connections on my phone, but when set to give music connection a priority, the app's full functionality doesn't seem to be there

The camera is pretty good. But the iOS app won’t pair with devices any more (everything is up to date) which means the wireless functions are pointless. And the chargers either never work or fail after a month or so (i have lots of these garmins). Fix it Garmin :( , or we’ll have to return all our recent purchases.

Takes no time to setup, runs great and always works. Being able to store videos on my phone right away is a huge help.
It’s already paid for itself in more ways than one, I’m now considering an extra rear view dash cam. Garmin is a 10/10.

Seems to be a decent product. Had it for a month. Lets see how well it holds up to the Texss summer heat. The only gripe I have is that it doesn't pair with my Drivesmart 55, bummer. If someone would've told me that it doesn't pair with any of the drivesmart products, I would've just gotten the next tier down dashcam because the built in screen is useless.

Much better option than a fleet safety dash cam.

Purchased this dash cam after buying a few other ones from Amazon. Ended up with this one and putting in our fleet trucks. It's simple to set up and a much cheaper option than the fleet safety cameras that are on the market. Best thing is that you do not have to sign a contract. Happy with it overall. We've had to pull footage for some incidents on the road and the footage is very clear.
