I decided on and purchased this Garmin Dash Cam 55 and I am very happy with its performance. I had the Geek Squad install it and its working flawlessly. It's a tiny little thing with good picture taking ability. There's a large selection of dash cams available, if you're buying one make sure you take the time to read about them.

Continually shuts down due to overheating

Other reviewers are correct, this dashcam is extremely hot to the touch when operating and shuts down every 10 minutes or so. During an overcast day that was 65 degrees out, this camera maxed out my laser thermometer gun in excess of 100F (degrees).This results in me trying to restart it and being distracted while driving. Kind of pointless to have a dash cam that doesn’t record. I love all the features and video quality. This is a good idea by Garmin with poor execution.

Works great even through the summer

The early bugs seemed to be fixed and the product so far has been working without issue for me. I like the lane departure warnings and they work reliably.
