so the GSP works great love the recording function anyone who purchase this I would recommend calling your car insurance and see if they have a program for dash cams some insurance company's will give you a discount on your monthly bill if you have a dash cam, I did however return mine but I intend on repurchasing the product (mine had a defective screen)

This Garmin DriveAssist is very good at capturing video when moving. The mount stays in place. Only thing I miss is when my previous Garmin provided the temperature reading, which this Garmin DriveAssist does not. I suppose the camera compensates for that feature instead.

I have used many gps units in the past and wanted to get a newer model for this years trips. Real nice new features can add several items using this units Bluetooth features. Added the backup camera. Good clear pictures on screen. Only thing I miss is on older units the device told me about what time I could get there and how many miles I had left. This unit will not show miles left just tome you should get there.

works well, I really wish Garmin would allow you to shut off school zone alerts, they are kinda annoying. Otherwise, works like it should.

I have purchase many Garmin products, from GPSs to fitness bands, seventeen in all. The products are well made and work nicely, but the software is generally not great. The hardware is fine and you can expect to get many years out of their GPSs. Batteries and chargers are usually the weak points. This is my first dash cam and I hope it provides some protection against unsafe drivers.

Gps works perfectly. Live traffic lags behind what Google maps shows. Forward camera works well but must be manually saved. Bluetooth hands free phone calls are difficult to hear.

It goes far away of my expectation, Just days before I bought by mistake a Magellan and regret it, as soon I realized my error did not wait to buy this Garmin, excellent product. The fact of camera recording all the time and detailing every sign, traffic light, curve ahead, forward collision, along with traffic updates... you can not ask for more!!

I bought this for work and travel... and it gives much better turn by turn directions and lane assist in crazy complicated interstate situations!! Built in bluetooth keeps eyes on the road and shows your final destination on a live camera as you approach!! And the dash cam is great in case you are ever in an accident that someone else causes!!

I've owned a lot of Garmin gps and I think this one is the best so far. This one records all the crazy drivers and gives you directions to your location. The screen is the brightest and clearest one yet. Sun glare hasn't been a problem with this unit. Love the free map updates you have to pay your car dealer to update your cars built in gps.

this GPS unit comes with a dash cam built in which was a very nice add on. it was a little bit pricey but with features like unlimited map updates, the camera, lane assist and proximity warnings, it is a pretty cool tool for long road trips. it even alerts you if you are driving off the road because it can see the lines.

I bought one of Garmin's first GPSs along time ago and I say that about it and the one's leading up to this one." If you are happy with being right and helpful to you 98% of the time, you will be very, very happy with this GPS, but if you want 100% of the time, you will not be that happy" Garmin keeps improving their products and has a telephone number you can call for help if you need it. Bad part, you will have to down load the user's manuel from their web site for full details on how to use all the stuff this can do The 50LMT Drive Assist is their last year's model so it is a little cheaper than the new 51LMT DriveAssist but to my way of thinking, is actually better. You need a wire cord to down load maps, etc on the old model where the new one is wireless but this means it takes longer to down load files. Garmin also has it where you can down load your saved places to your computer so if your GPS is stolen or lost, when you buy a new one, you can down your information to your new GPS. Did I mention that this model also records while you are driving, can be used for hands free cell phone use, and many others ways to help you drive safely.

the camera works well on this gps but it is really slow to find addresses. the other garmins i have owned (most recently the nuvi 3590) will find address that i enter in a few seconds. the maps are the same on both units but the driveassist model will often take 30 to 45 seconds to find an address. thats not too bad if you are only entering a few destinations a day, but if you are doing much more than that it gets really annoying. garmin tech support was not able to help with this problem. they said that because of the camera the gps is much slower than other models.

Now at Night it is not the best but it works good when your driving with your headlights on. During the day I get a great video. I love how I dont have to worry about my card filing up. It just records over the oldest first. You can save certain videos where they wont erase from the card. I use it all the time on my truck.

My wife calls this unit her little narc. Forward facing camera automatically records when you start the vehicle. Collision avoidance, lane departure, and speeding will get you a series of beeps reminding you to pay attention. Automatically saves data when you are in an accident. It also does directions really well too...
