We thought it was time for an update. I ran down to our local Best Buy and picked up this model. We noticed the difference right away. It almost immediately found satellites and finding routes to our destinations was very quick. We like the brightness of the screen, the split screen lane assist along other features.

My son entered all the pertinent step by step directions and made it so easy for them. They made it down there without a hitch. Thank you.

Disappointing purchase!

I have had cheaper Garmin GPS that worked much better. For one, it frequently takes 5-15 minutes "searching for satellites" on a clear day. Secondly it will many times show that I am on a different road or driving through a field maybe 50 yards parallel to my actual location. Third, the map updates are so far behind the times. New roads that have been in existence for 2 years or more are still not showing. If the new roads are my best route and it routes me on only older roads in its database, then what's the use of a GPS? Otherwise, the display is big and bright and it seems to be solidly made.
