I could never get the software to update and the new maps to load

Been using this since mid pandemic when the federal stimulus checks went out. The first issue I had with it was when the screen became unresponsive after a year or two. I think it had something to do with having something on it in the glove compartment. I recommend buying the pouch holder for it. Luckily, I had warranty & got a new one. I don't put things on it anymore although I have had temporary screen unresponsiveness but it's very rare. Other than than, it's works perfectly. I few complaints though: 1. The traffic feature doesn't seem to always work & I'm not sure if it's actually doing anything at all sometimes since there is no symbol indicating if it's getting traffic information. I've been in on the highway in rush hour traffic & the Arrival time doesn't always recognize the traffic & will tell you 20 min rather than 45 min. I never read that issue with Tom Tom 2. Something I remember you could do with Tom Tom was the customization of voices & vehicle images. You could have whatever car image you wanted through the computer program for it & you could have whatever voice. You could have KITT or Snoop Dog. This doesn't let you do that. 3. The Garmin Travel app doesn't let you send addresses to you GPS unless your smartphone is connected the the internet. If you don't have Wifi or data you can't use it.

I have tried several other brands which did not provide the same options as the Garmin. I love that it connects to my phone using Bluetooth and makes the calls much easier to hear.

Love this updated version. It really helps to see the actual road instead of just green/pink lines. Less grievance on a wife watching her husband drive.

This farming is great my mom uses it for all her travels. She has an older car really can’t use her GPS on her phone.

It was easy to use and read. The price on Black Friday was a decibing factor.

Works very well for the money. I bought it for a trip to St. Louis. It took me to where I wanted to be. Much less stress, when you have a heads up on what lane to be in.

Everything needed was found in the box. My wife followed the steps to get it running. Used once or twice so far, seems to work fine.

I bought Garmin Drivesmart 55 & traffic GPS. In several month I wanted to update it. It start up to update, but when I came back in 4 hours I saw black screen only. I bought 32GB memory card (microSDHC), installed it in. Same. Only sometimes my GPS flashing, trying to start up. But don't work. When I was needed, this GPS directed me again and again to Rt30 West, where during last 4 hours all lines was closed because of accident in 2019 year. No button to bypass. My phone battery was discharged. So I got big problems.

Bought this one a day ago. I tried to test it and it drives me crazy when directing me to my office. My office is near a highway and I need to exit the highway to get to my office. But this GPS never asks me to get off the highway when I should! It asks me to keep driving on the highway until it is close to my office BUT there is NO EXIT from the highway! What a joke this GPS is making!

If cell phones are water resistant for $700.00 this item should be. I ride atv snowmobiles and good working gps helps. Its gonna get wet. For this price is it worth it? Or better of with your cell phone and down load an app for trails that cost maybe $50.00. Going into deep back country where theres no cell tower it might be worth the money. But if you get it wet then what. Better have some survival skills.
