I have used Garmin GPS units for years. I purchased a new Jeep Grand Cherokee which has a built in GPS Garmin unit, but I like the units that are mounted on the windshield, always have. I like using the GPS mph as a double check on my speed. I've always found Garmins to be very accurate this one is by far the best... it even puts my house actually in the correct location!

We just got back from a four week trip on the road using our new Garmin. It was wonderful to use, so helpful and gives you a choice of two routes to your destination. We love it!

This garmin is great! Lots of new features comparwd to an old Nuvi. Screen is bright and it is big enough. The advanced warnings for speedzones and speed limit changes are nice. Had a TomTom for a while but definitely prefer the features of the Garmin.

Great product. helps with direction when phone has no signal. Even in dead zones the Garmin GPS never fails. Bluetooth and voice commands make directions turn by turn easy to navigate.

Awesome product. Purchased this navigation System to replace the use of my phone’s map app, specially in areas where my phone had poor reception and wouldn’t update the directions. This system has worked great to solve that problem

This was a replacement for an older Garmin model that had begun to have trouble holding a charge. So far, this newer unit seems to work quite well. I have not tried all the functions yet, but we have only had a for a few short months.

The design of this unit is very good. The software changes need some explanation, but nothing that hours in the the user's manual would not resolve. The advertising of the unit was not complete, as it did not let the user know that there was a power cord of each type included with the GPS nor the fact that there was a windshield holder for the unit, but that is not part of this product evaluation. It would have saved this user from unnecessary purchases of a power cord and dashboard holder. The price is high for what you get, but the quality initially is warranted. The limiting of the number of voices seems shallow, but the clarity of the voice is satisfactory. This is a 80 dollar device that they are selling for over $250.00. Is it worth the extra, only the buyer can decide. As for me, I need it, so I won't send it back, but this will be my last one by Garmin.

This is the fourth Garmin for me. I like them so well I have given them as gifts. I like it so much better than the one in the vehicle as I can carry in my purse when walking in SF or other large cities and can readily find the address I am looking for.

But it's been great for the several trips I've had to make--one was for COVID Testing about 45 miles away. I purchased this unit since I switched back to a dumb phone. My phone was having issues with data (1 bar) and finding GPS signal, so I figured it's best to get a dedicated unit. The unit has nice auditory instructions and sounds prompts for turning, and it finds GPS signal pretty quickly. Take the time to save the addresses as favorites for future trips or common places that you go to. This is my second Garmin unit, and I'm very happy with this purchase.

I upgraded from a model I’ve owned for about 5 years and it’s perfect. Recently used it on a road trip out west and used the Bluetooth feature to locate addresses without taking my hands off of the wheel. The screen is easily visible no matter the time of day.

My new Garmin - DriveSmart 55 & Traffic - 5.5" GPS with Built-In Bluetooth is GREAT. I use to use my Cell Phone Maps to get me from place to place, Now I use my Garmin. I find it much easier to use and the large screen makes it easy to read. GREAT PRODUCT.

first the positives: the screen is gorgeous and high resolution, and the interface is more responsive than our 5 year old one, and it comes with lifetime map updates. but there were too many negatives to keep it: it still isn't super responsive to the touch compared to any iOS or android device. this model is light and thin, but the standalone battery life is only 1 hour (when new) compared to 3-4 hours on older generation devices. we ended up returning it because we can use our phones via Carplay 99% of the time, and for the occasional road trip where we may lose cell signal, we'll rely on our several year old one. while the Drivesmark 55 is superior to our older Nuvi model, we can't justify keeping this one, even at the great $150 black friday price. if it were $100, we probably would have kept it.

Very nice GPS: nice size screen, nice resolution, nice sensitivity to touch (many automobile GPS screens require a rather hard press), nice range of audio volume, nice menu system (especially for someone familiar with a Garmin GPS). The frequent map updates are also a very nice feature.

I was using my cell phone for navigation prior to purchasing the Garmin and I was finding it hard to focus on my phone and the road at the same time. The Garmin allows me to focus on driving and receive navigation at the same time. A life saver!
