Awesome watch! Great buy! This watch has more features than I really need. I especially like the hiking feature and navigation feature. I had an fenix 3 sapphire and this watch is definitely a big step up from the old one! Garmin has a great thing going with their smart watches!

Great watch. The GPS Capabilities is what sold me along with the clear and sharp looking screen. I really enjoy this watch and it’s durable to keep up with my active lifestyle. The heart rate isn’t the best but that’s not as important for me. Battery life is insane! I love that I can wear it for a week and not have to charge it.

I’m basing this review off of the fact that I was able to purchase this watch on sale for $599. Before reading further if you want the flashlight (torch) or upgraded optical heart rate monitor and ecg then you should step up to the pro models as they will never be on this wath. As well if you need 42mm or 51mm then move directly to the pro. For everyone else this watch has identical features to the pro versions from a software perspective. This watch is also priced identical to the forerunner 965 and beats that watch in every category and is a much better build quality. The 965 will give you a larger screen and better user interface and it is lighter but made of plastic with a titanium bezel (solid watch). Features for the price it is tough to beat and I struggle to see how the flashlight and ecg make up the $200 price difference. Garmin will also be supporting this watch for many years. Make the ourchase you will not tegret it. Lastly, even though this is not the latest OHR it preforms equal to the latest generation. GPS with this watch and most other Garmins in the last 2 years lead the industry for their accuracy.

I could not stand running out of battery by 5 pm. If tou use gps workouts with aplle watch you will run out of battery before end of day. I love this watch. Its bright beautiful and has 16 days of battery with gesture on. I love it. The titanium makes the watch much lighter than one would think. I will never go back to apple.

I'll start off by saying that I really like this watch and think it's a great addition to my collection. However, the only reason I'm giving it a 4 star is because I think the price is to steep. Realistically, I feel it should priced between $700-$800 at most. Previously, I've own a Garmin Fenix 3 HR and I had it for a few years now. I loved that watch for the most part. Long battery, durability, etc. Comparing that to the Epix 2, at first I wasn't sure if I liked the Epix on first impressions. It felt smaller b/c the bezel was smaller than that of the Fenix 3. However, after wearing it for a few weeks now, I love my new Epix! The screen is beautiful and the watch is very lightweight compared to my old one. The reason my opinion changed about the appearance is because Garmin struck a nice balance with the Epix. Not only does it give you a sporty look that you can wear with active wear, etc, the watch also looks slick enough to wear with casual or business attire as well. Battery life is awesome. Always on gives you 6 days, but if you turn that off you get a solid 16 days. I like the sleep tracker altho I can tell its not 100 percent accurate. I'm not sure how it tracks your sleep, but a part me believe it may detect if you are awake more or less by you walking around. I know one night i had a rough time sleeping and woke up multiple times only to stare at the ceiling for 15min at a time... The watch didn't catch that. However, it does try to track the time you spent in light sleep, deep sleep, and REM. Also, I like the "sleep mode" feature the watch has. It allows you to set a time frame for a number of hours that you typically sleep. During that time frame, the watch goes into a sleep state and the display is not as bright etc. so you aren't blinded by the display brightness if you do wear your watch to bed and I do believe that features mutes some notifications. Also, if you are into some of the fancier features like Garmin Pay, be sure to do a google to check the current list of banks that supports Garmin Pay feature. I was little disappointed to find out that the main bank institutions that I use didn't support Garmin Pay, so that was little disappointing, but not a big deal breaker. Last, but not least, I compared this watch to the highest model they had for the Apple 7 GPS Nike edition and I returned the Apple. If money isn't a issue and you have a little extra to spend, buy this watch, you won't regret it!! However, if you can exercise patience, wait for it to go on sale for 100.00 less...I paid full price and have no regrets, but Garmin needs to bring the price down a bit...

Long time Garmin user here dating back to the Fenix 3, and Edge 500 devices for cycling. The EPIX 2 is an absolute beast. This is a a fantastic fitness / activity focused wearable, and provides a plethora of data. I chose this over the Fenix 7 series for the screen, and love it. I have absolutely no issues in direct sunlight, and it's bright and clear in the dark with sharp contrast. GPS accuracy is fantastic, battery life is amazing (nearly 2 weeks right now on a charge) sleep data is improved, so is HRV and readiness. I've tried other smart watches such as Galaxy Watch Pro etc, and they cannot compete on fitness tracking at all. If you are looking for the ultimate sports tracking watch, this or the Fenix line is the ticket.

I'm loving the Epix Gen 2! I've owned a Fenix 5 Sapphire, a Venu 2, an Instinct 2 Solar, and now the Epix Gen 2. I've liked all of them, but the Epix Gen 2 is by far my favorite! The screen is beautiful, the GPS is quick and accurate, and the battery life is decent. I get 3-4 days on a single charge if I'm using the GPS for 1-2 hours per day. If I don't use the GPS, I get about 7 days on a full charge. Definitely a great piece of gear!

A huge upgrade from my Phoenix 5. Not just the screen, but the software too. This model has much more on screen helpers that make navigating the options much smoother. I changed the full time on screen to off, and my battery life jumped to 16 days.. I took a star off because it does not have a work out option for just working out at the gym.. the free weight option forces you to adapt to the sets and reps entering screens, which I do not like.. Please add this option. I also wanted to post a review on the garmin site after getting an e-mail from them thanking me for registering my product.. it did not show up on there system and I was not able to post a review. but with those minor issues, I am very happy with this new device. The new slightly slimmer band is also much more comfortable, and the watch itself feels more natural to wear. The watch faces can also be customized on the watch which is very cool. So, you can stick to the basics or really make it fit your needs.. very happy with this watch.

Just a great watch! Precise and accurate GPS reception, infinite configurations for almost any sport you want, lightweight and comfortable to wear, wonderful AMOLED display, and decent battery life. Coming from the Apple watch, the only thing I miss is to be able to unlock my iPhone or my MacBook Pro using the watch, other than that, it is a much better option.

A versatile smartwatch with advanced health, sports and activity metrics that shame other brands, including Apple. I chose this over AWU2, Suunto, Coros and Garmin Fenix. The 20+ day battery life has been terrific, the AMOLED display does not disappoint neither at night nor in daylight and the combination of buttons and touchscreen navigation certainly makes this a convenient workout and lifestyle partner. The true advantage of the watch though is the Garmin Connect app that provides health and activity analytics that are unparalleled and come at no additional cost - a departure from other platforms like Apple, where you would need to purchase several standalone apps to get the same level of insight.

Great battery life with every activity that i could find myself using. Amazing metrics and spot on gps accuracy. It is a bit bigger and heavier than some other fitness watches but that also makes it more rugged and presumably protects the gorgeous screen better

This is the best smartwatch I’ve ever owned. I came from a Tag Heuer Connected 3, Connected Modular before that, and several FitBits in there too (oh, and a Fenix 6X Pro Solar for awhile). The manual controls are great, the display is fantastic, and the software is beyond what I could have hoped for. I bought a black-steel band to go with it, which is now my standard. If I have to give it one negative, it would be that it doesn’t work with apps like WatchMaker or Facer. There are face options, sure, but not nearly as many as Wear OS. I find myself not caring about this though… the built in faces are great, and there are tons more in the Garmin app. I may update after I get a chance to use the golf software, but all around this thing is fantastic. PS, batter in normal mode is going 6+ days,

Difficult to set up. The whole map thing is overkill. I imagine that it is important to anyone that relies on it, but it seems as if the maps never fully get installed, unless I am missing something. Once you disconnect from charging, it take quite a few seconds for the maps, I guess, to update before you see your watchface and then strap on the watch. The thing automatically dims in low light, brightens up in a lit room. When fully bright, the screen is actually quite beautiful. I just wish that you could control if you want it to dim. Is it legible, sure, but I would still like to decide how bright I want to keep it and not just have it automatically dim. When initially setting it up, it feels, and it pretty much did, as if it takes forever to setup. Vibration motor is a big deal to me. Most people, especially online reviewers, NEVER mention this. I need to feel that jolt on my wrist so I don't miss a notification. Can you feel it? Sure. But I wish it were stronger. I had a Vivoactive 4 that allowed you to adjust the intensity and at high, it was strong. The strongest vibration of any Garmin watch. The watch is big, but it does not feel heavy. It does activate rather fast when you turn it toward you and that is pretty good. Email notifications still do not come to the watch as fast as I would like. I specifically use Gmail. Texts come to the watch quicky though. The email thing has always been an issue with Garmin watches. You do get the email, but it is a couple, three, four seconds right after it hits your phone. Battery like is ridiculously good. On this alone, the watch is worth it. NOTHING on the market has EVER matched Garmin in the watch department. I don't use always on screen. It looks very skimpy to begin with as it relates to the information you get on any given watchface. I don't find anything appealing about using always on display. It activates quite fast when you turn the watch toward you anyway. Heart rate sensor is pretty darn accurate. I don't obsess over this part, but as with battery life, the heart rate sensor, in my opinion, is the best amongst ALL devices that try to compete with Garmin. Steps are quite accurate, and calorie count seems to also be on point. I have NEVER had an issue with calories, steps, and heart rate on any Garmin device. Maybe on the Fenix 3, but that was a long time ago. I have to be honest, Garmin produces the best fitness watches I have ever worn. On battery alone, it is priceless. However, do I feel that these devices are just too expensive? YES. They get updated quite regularly which is great, and customer support is top notch out of Kansas. But do I feel that they are far too expensive? Again, YES. The Epix is a nice watch, but I would not buy it again if I were to contemplate getting anything similar to it in the future.

Bottom line, I love this watch. I love the information that it gives me. The battery lasts about 11 days! That is way better the the Apple Watch. Although pricey, I wouldn’t want anything else. I wear it to bed and it provides detailed sleep data. The heart monitor is remarkably accurate as I have worn a chest strap at the same time and the results were within one beat of each other. It provides a lot of workout guidance. GPS is strong, but I have not yet gone hiking with it as I am a warm weather hiker.
