Best Sports watch ever. Definitely spend the extra $$ to get the sapphire glass. So customizable and has features I'm still exploring. I bought it through Best Buy because of their replacement warranty. Not just for elite athletes--great for anyone who wants to gather fitness data and show improvement.

So far this is the best athletic watch on the market. It is very full featured with setings. Garmin again makes another solid product.

I am loving this watch thus far. I have been using it steadily for just under a month. The battery life is great; on average with low GPS usage I can get a little over a week out of one charge. The ability to track multiple types of activities is just what I needed as I am active in many. I have found the Garmin forums helpful in understanding small quirks I have found in the programming and understanding some of the features better. I have not used all the capabilities yet, but look forward to exploring them in the future.

I haven't had the time to explore all of the possibilities this thing has...which seems to be plenty. I like that it has a heart rate monitor that somehow reads my pulse from the back of my hand. Seems to work very well under normal conditions, however once I start sweating it isn't very accurate...full on sprints and heart rate doesn't rise per the watch. :( Heart rate monitoring without chest strap was one of the main draws to this watch for me, but sadly it seems that for accurate reading while working out, I will be forced to get the optional chest strap. Great daily driver for the person who works in the field and has an active lifestyle.

      Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your review and sorry to hear about your issue with the heart rate not reading correctly when your doing an activity. Below is an article on how to improve the accuracy of the optical heart rate sensor.

This watch is quite rugged! Wrist heart rate works well as long as you aren't pumping your arms. It works best to use the chest HR strap if you will be using the watch while *indoor* rock climbing, doing power yoga, etc...

This watch is amazing! A little big for my wrist so I ended up having to return. Amazing product and company, just wish it was made for those of us whom are lacking in the wrist girth.

I love this watch. It's easy to use. It has ever feature I was looking for. Always on display, sunlight readable, week long battery life, changeable watch faces, changeable bands. And it fits my tiny wrists.

My husband has the Fenix 3 and I have long envied it, except for the size. I even bought an Apple Watch in the meantime, always wishing the Fenix would just be a little smaller. Well, my wish has been granted and I could not be more pleased. The Fenix 5s is the perfect size, the Champange And Grey suede is a fabulous color, and the capabilities of the Garmin Fenix continue to be top Notch!
