    Works Pretty Well

I purchased the GTM-60 because it is supposed to give more detailed and up to date traffic information than the power supply cable that originally came with my DriveSmart 60 LMT. It certainly works receiving traffic information but I'm not sure at all it's any better than the cable which came free with my device. It's also supposed to receive weather information but except for one time in the month I've used it, the weather page on my Garmin has been blank One suggestion if you buy this, do not pay any attention to the instructions which say you have to register the GTM-60 on the Garmin website for it to start working. The web page it listed had no place to register it, I called Garmin and waited on hold for over 30 minutes to be told, "Oh, I don't know why they still have that 'register thing' in the instructions. You don't have to do that, it'll just work fine without it." She was right, so just toss the instruction leaflet in the waste basket and simply plug it into your unit.

Must have if you are an old school GPS user , and don't want to sync your phone for traffic . Very basic , doesn't update very quickly . A little pricey. Works just like the old ones did. Luckily I read reviews on the GPS I was buying , because they don't tell you that you have to have the special cord for traffic if you don't want to sync your phone to it .

I didnt have much confidence when buying this product but surprisingly works fine with my Garmin Drivesmart 51 NA LMT-S which I got 5 yrs back in Best buy. Happy with the product and I recommend for someone looking for basic traffic receiver.

I have a Garmin Drive Smart 51 model and i was using my phones data for traffic updates and conditions and it was working pretty good for a year and a half, but then my gps would start freezing and i didn't know what the problem was. I first thought that the device might need un update so i downloaded the updates at the time but it still kept freezing so then i reset it but that didn't work either! And then it hit me its the phone conection cuz when i turned off the Bluetooth conection and disconnected from the Garmin Smart phone link the device worked smooth no more freezing! But doing that unfortunately caused the device not to have traffic information! So i decided to buy the traffic receiver/charging cable, and im glad i did NO MORE FREEZING!!! Only downside is you obviously dont get all the features you would get if you had the data conection! But a must have just in case you don't have your phone for whatever reason......

I purchased this item for a Garmin Drive Smart 65 LMT-S. This item provides lifetime traffic data without needing to connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth. When using this cable, it sends HD traffic data (where available) to any compatible Garmin GPS that is connected. When HD Traffic is not available, it sends the regular traffic data to the GPS. There are no service fees and it works for the lifetime of your GPS. I have not had any problems with it. But, you must note, not all areas have traffic data available, especially small towns in the midwest and west. I highly recommend this cable if it is compatible with your Garmin GPS device. It is great on long trips and doesn't tie up your phone. I liked it so much, I bought one for my parents to use with their Garmin GPS.

I have the Garmin Drive Assist 50LMT and love it. Went to buy it again as a gift for someone. The 51LMT is the replacement for it. After giving it as a gift, the recipient told me there was not any traffic notifications. I found out I had to buy the receiver for this model to show the traffic. You cannot get the traffic on the 51LMT without the traffic receiver cord. I purchased it and they told me it now works well. Wished I would have known earlier.

Works as designed so that don't have to use a cellphone. With it, don't tie up cell phone or draw on its data plan though supposedly that may not allow as up to date traffic results. Gripe is that this cord should come with phone or at least not be so expensive to buy as accessory.

It was recommended to me that when I purchase my new GPS I should also make sure to get this cord, so that I don't have to constantly download from my computer or phone. Works like a charm! Great investment

    RF Cable for GPS

First let me say, I'm not happy with Garmin for forcing you to buy an additional cable for $75+ in order to get traffic without using a smart phone and your data plan. That being said, it works pretty good, but isn't totally consistent. I really wanted to have traffic and this is the only choice for me, since I don't use a smart phone, away from the house. So it's adequate, but not fabulous.

The Garmin Traffic receiver works by letting you know when a traffic situation is up ahead. It does not show live traffic, just a traffic situation (problem, accident). We use this with our Garmin Drive Smart 51 LMT-S. Both the Garmin GTM 60 Traffic receiver and Garmin Drive Smart are quality products.

this cord is needed for live traffic feeds, if you do not want your cell phone on all the time while traveling. It picks up fm signals for its info, so it really works greatt in larger cities, out in the country not so much.

In a few situations we were already too far into the traffic problems to do anything about alternate routing or to have enough advance warning to not have to do some heavy braking to join into the backups. Then some times we were warned of congestions that had already cleared up. Most of the time it was worth having it added to the basic GPS traffic function.

Aloha. I bought this traffic/power cable to be used to recveive live traffic updates instead of using my cell phone as a traffic reveiver. I tested it and so far it seems to be working fine, we'll have to see when I use it in California. Sincerely, Mike.

I bought this for my Garmin Drive Assist 51 GPS device. In the Washington DC area traffic is a mess all the time, and this seems to know the best way to get from A to B. There are alternatives to this, such as a subscription through Garmin, but this item supposedly has the shortest interval between updates, which is what I wanted.
