Tried to factory reset and now can't re-add the scale. So, it is just a $10 scale that I paid $161 for. DO NOT BUY!

Device repeatedly lost sync, returned for Withings

Posted .Hi IrvinLegend, Thank you for reviewing the Index Smart Scale. If the scale is not reporting the correct weight we would recommend that you lift the scale off the ground until the weight displayed is zero. This will calibrate the scale and we would expect it to provide an accurate weight value. The other thing we would recommend is to use the carpet risers that came in the box. If the scale is placed on a carpeted surface the weight value may not display correctly. The included carpet risers will help. If still getting an inaccurate weight after trying these suggestions, please send an email to [email protected] for further assistance. -JFH
Performs as advertised

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that I did have a few minor hiccups with the initial setup. I'm confident Garmin will smooth out the process.

Great product but hard to set up multiple users

The initial setup to pair and set up wifi was simple. However, adding a second user was not straight forward at all. The first user had to invite the other users and that was not well explained. I spent about 30 minutes in something that could have been 5 with proper instructions. The scale works great with my other Garmin equipment.

Very Consistent

Each morning I weighed anywhere from 5 to 12 times because the results were inconsistent. Today I decided to get the Garmin Index and see if it was any better. After 10 measurements within 30 minutes, I have to say it is wonderfully consistent. I moved the scale, weighed by myself, and weighed holding our cat. Because the Garmin only keeps the last reading of the day, I went to our computer to record the results after each weighing. There was no fluctuation at all. Every measurement was exactly the same (which is why I picked up the cat - I wanted to make sure I wasn't just looking at the same results each time.)

The scale is good looking, easy to set up, and very easy to read. It is WiFi connected (and easy to set up, even with my 2.4ghz and 5ghz combined wireless network), and it automatically uploads to my Garmin Connect profile. If you're using Garmin fitness products, I highly recommend it!

The Garmin Connect app froze during setup and it was downhill from there. Tried to remove the app, the details, the device and still cannot complete the setup. I *think* I got as far as connecting to Wi-Fi but still showed the 'wrench' and the support page doesn't mention that combination, only wrench and blinking bluetooth icon. I am tech savvy and having issues with this product.
