Love the durability and battery life on this watch I like the connectivity it has with my phone and the companion phone app. I enjoy it having multiple exercises that it can track.

Had a tactical, with the prior version and it was the best, had almost a 14-30hrs of battery. This version is a step back, battery life that lasts about 7days. I took it on a hike and after about 6hours it would just restart, over and over again. I’ve had the watch for about 40 days and going to return and get the previous model, for sure
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I upgraded from the Instinct 1 so was used to the original interface as most of the basics are the same. The added features are really cool where they’ve brought some of the training summary info from the more expensive Fenix range. The flashlight I thought was a gimmic has actually been an awesome feature I use way more than I thought I would! Solar charge is a cool feature, typically getting a few weeks per charge and I run every other day.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend. He’s a firefighter and it was the perfect garmin for him. He loves the flashlight feature and the fact that it’s a sturdy watch he doesn’t have to worry about it possibly breaking on any calls. It’s still stylish to wear outside of work and the sleep tracker has been very helpful.

Coming from a Samsung Watch 4, the Garmin Instinct 3 has been a fantastic upgrade. I absolutely love this watch for its lightweight design, long battery life, and excellent tracking features.
Pros:
Lightweight & Comfortable: Feels great on the wrist, even during long hours of wear.
Great Battery Life: I've been using this watch in smartwatch mode for four days, and it still has 85% battery left—amazing compared to my previous watch.
Crisp Display: Good visibility. I've been using the watch with 20% backlight and have no problem viewing it in sunlight or the dark.
Good Sampling Rate: Tracks activities accurately with minimal delay.
Sleep Tracking: Provides detailed and insightful sleep data.
Torch: A very handy feature.
Connectivity with Mobile: I've been using this watch with my Samsung S24, and it syncs perfectly.
Cons:
Update Process Could Be Better: The watch needed a reset to free up space for the update via Garmin Express, which was disappointing given its price.

Absolutely love this watch. All the functions and then some of other smart watches. PLUS it has 20 days of battery when using all functions. Of course you could go into battery saving mode and add more days. Moving from Apple Watch to this was a great move! What other watches have a powerful torch light built in?

The Instinct 3 Solar 45mm adds the indispensable flashlight that was missing from the Instinct 2 Solar 45mm, a portable light that is surprisingly handy once you have experienced its utility. The black and white MIP on the 3 Solar has the same resolution as the 2 Solar but is night and day more contrasty and legible. The 3 sports a beautiful display panel.
GPS is on par with the Fenix lineup and includes most of the advanced training metrics. What's not to love? The muted twilight color is uniquely fresh and stands out from the sea of black watches.

Amazing watch! I use it to track pretty much everything from sleep, to workouts, water consumption, literally everything! Long battery life and very accurate workout tracking. Great customization within the app!

Hands down one of the best watches I have owned. I have taken it on a few backpacking trips and the GPS is extremely reliable. As well as the battery life. I used GPS while hiking around for 4 days and still had 16 days of battery life by the end of it.
The amount of features is great but my top 3 are the GPS for hiking, great battery life (especially with solar), and of course the built in flashlight.
This watch is a tank!

I love the watch! Huge upgrade over my Samsung watch. The solar charging is a great feature! I only have to charge it once ever couple of weeks. The Samsung watch had to be charged every day!

Great watch, incredible battery life. The solar charging exceeded my expectations. I took it with me on a 7-day backpacking trip and used it on the highest battery drain GPS mode the entire time I was moving. I finished the trip with almost 50% battery life left.

This was a birthday present to myself. I upgraded from an original Garmin Instinct, which I enjoyed for a couple of years. This Garmin is loaded with features that I will never use, but using it for training and running 5K and 10Ks, it is an improvement. Initial setup is done with a QR code and setting up basic functions like quiet time are a snap. I have already done many training runs and a few races and have found it to be accurate. Linking to GPS is instantaneous. The best feature (so far) is the audio giving me run time at each mile. I think this has made me run a little faster. Another feature is the watch giving suggestions prior to starting an activity. It's easy to back out of that screen, but good to know before starting a race. Although the screen is the same size as my original Instinct, I have found it a little easier to read this one, even when not wearing glasses. I am nearsighted and have a cataract forming in one eye (Medicare just kicked in, so that will be addressed soon.) This is a good looking watch as well as functional.
