This scale is seemingly worthless for purposes of measuring body composition. I had been using it for a couple years without questioning those features until I got a DEXA scan last month. Lo and behold, my muscle mass is actually twice as much as this Index S2 scale stated. In fact, the DEXA results were nearly identical to readings I was getting from an old Withings Body+ scale I had lying around. One of the nice things about the Garmin scale is that you can input results from a DEXA scan and presumably a person’s readings will be accurate going forward. Again, not the case. My fat and muscle mass readings have remain virtually unchanged while my body has shown significant recomposition after starting a GLP-1 agonist and intense exercise program. The Withings scale, on the other hand, shows my continuing improvements in its results. I’m normally a big fan of Garmin’s products. I bought the new Fenix 8 as soon as it was available, for example, and wear it every day. But they need to completely rework the algorithms in this Index S2 scale. If you want to spend hundreds just to get your weight then more power to you. But if you’re looking for any other info from it, I’d recommend a scale from a different manufacturer.

We really like the scale and have been using for about a year now. Easy to use and logs all your stats in the Garmin App. The only flaw we have is it takes awhile to load to weigh screen. Other than that it works well.

Garmin tech suite is very convenient. This scale keeps track of everything. No real cons here. While I have yet to get much use out of the weather feature, or a couple of the other ones, it is nice to have them. Definitely worth the money in my opinion. Very easy to use. I don't see myself buying a new scale any time soon.

It was slightly challenging to setup, but now it’s a great scale. It connects to Garmin, which connects to my other health apps for easy syncing.

This scale was easy to setup. The primary reason I got it was to auto connect to my other Garmin products. It is easy to use and auto syncs with my account. If you don't need Garmin, I don't know it would be worth the extra cost.

Overall I enjoy the scale and all of the metrics it provides. It is very sensitive and turns on easily. I’m not sure how accurate the BF% is on it because it is way off from what I get with an Inbody weigh in at my local supplement shop. However I am very pleased with this scale.

The scale itself is sleek and looks good. Unfortunately, the accuracy thing is a gimmick.
I am currently losing weight, and this is why I bought this thing. Unfortunately, i can't trust the results from the scale. This morning, i got on the scale and I weighed 206lbs, which is not what I was expecting, but body weight fluctuates, I understand that. So, I waited for it to reset and no more than 30 seconds later, I weighed 201lbs... so which one is it? I don't know.
This is not uncommon for me to have to do.
And I know what you're thinking, the floor has to be the problem... NOPE. Tried different floors, my bathroom, my office, my kitchen and even the concrete backyard.
I placed a 35lb KettleBell on top to see and of course it did not read anywhere near 35LB.
I was getting more reliable results from my $25 renpho... at least it was consistent. I would like to take this thing back, but i can't.
It is a really terrible position because I joined the Garmin ecosystem for its reputable accuracy, but in the end it is just a gimmick. $200 fitness watch and $200 scale... i felt less swindled with my cheap fitbit and renpho scale.
