Great looking, well packaged, easy to set up, links with my wifi and works great! A must have for dieters and athletes.

Scale works better than my previous Index; shows all of the metrics every time I use it. However, every other day or so only the weight and BMI (calculated from the weight) are recorded in my Garmin app on my phone. The Wi-Fi connection is obviously good enough to get the weight and BMI transmitted; the other measurements should be recorded as well!

The scale does what I expected. I step on it, it calls me fat using multiple fields to prove it's point; and then uses the Internet to tattle on me to my phone via the Garmin connect app so that I receive sporadic notification reminders to help me make skinnier choices. Thank you Garmin!

Got tired of having to transfer all my data to my phone and purchased this. I already wear a garmin watch, so having all my data readily available on the connect app was a bonus.

I have the Garmin Index Smart Scale, not the S2 version, but have run into an issue that is also being reported on the S2. My scale has stopped providing any metric other than BMI. There are over 11,000 views into the Garmin forum about this issue but in looking all over the place there does not seem to be a solution being offered by Garmin for this issue. There are people reporting the same issue with the S2 so just be aware and do your research as this is not a cheap scale. There are multiple reports of difficulty in getting the scale to connect with WIFI, but that is a problem I had, briefly but was able to resolve.

not worth that kind of money

The scale weighs approximately accurately. But body fat and water testing is obviously weird. At some point, they suddenly begin to show weight loss due to muscles and water. This can’t happen because I regularly go to the gym. It is quite obvious that the scales come up with these indicators using some of their own formulas. I don't recommend it.

Didn’t think there would be a problem from a Garmin product but even with some bad reviews i took a chance. It stopped connecting to WiFi and nothing I have tried has fixed it. Troubleshooting talks about changing my router settings even though it was working just a few days ago. Left Fitbit over the same kind of thing now this scale with Garmin. If it’s not Bluetooth I’m not buying a scale. My GE it was supposed to replace has never had an issue, just less data until the Garmin stopped working that is…

No guarantee to function accurately!

I just contacted Garmin support about the purchase of this scale. I asked them about calibration and periodic calibration. They said the scale does not have the ability to be calibrated. I also asked what the accuracy was and the response "it will be accurate" but there are no written guarantees of any value. So, if you buy one and put a known weight of 100#'s on it and it reads 105#'s you are out of luck. This is NOT a normally quality item from Garmin! I would NOT purchase it!
If your scale has recently been moved or lifted up, you may notice that the scale's measurements are incorrect. Taring, or "zeroing out", the scale will allow it to reset its zero weight point. To tare your scale:
Place the scale on a hard, flat surface Firmly tap the scale to wake (do not step on the scale) Allow the scale to go to sleep Wait about 10 seconds Firmly tap the scale to wake Take a weight measurement Your scale should now be tared and provide correct measurements.

Slow to register

You have to hold very still to get your weight to register. I have had much better scales at a fraction of the costs.
The scale should be on a solid surface unless you're on carpet and using the carpet risers.
