Amazing scale it helped us watch my mother in law gain weight she said it was a fluke but it wasn't she maxed out the limit you would have thought she hit the rev limiter on her car she just kept going higher and higher sadly she finally started to figure the scale out shes now on the lighter side of 300 but it showed every stat of the weight gain surprisingly her bone mass never increased

I tested a couple of other scales out and had problems with them. This one works. It is a bit pricy but it works as advertised. It doesn't have blue tooth. It uses a wi-fi connection to send data to the phone. I think it actually uploads the data to Garmin and then downloads it to the phone. There is a little work to set it up but nothing too difficult.

Bought this scale after selling my Apple Watch and getting a Garmin Venu 2 Plus. Nice looking scale and has a nice display. Only issue I have with it, is that stepping on the scale every now and again won’t immediately turn on. I have to move it slightly to come on, other than that, it is a great scale.

Setup the scale is quite tricky, Fail several times before I get it working. The blutetooth would not connect, even though the phone was a couple of feets from the scale. The worst: need to redo it after changing the battery: the scale was no longer able to connect to the wifi. Otherwise, it provide valueable information.

This scale is seemingly worthless for purposes of measuring body composition. I had been using it for a couple years without questioning those features until I got a DEXA scan last month. Lo and behold, my muscle mass is actually twice as much as this Index S2 scale stated. In fact, the DEXA results were nearly identical to readings I was getting from an old Withings Body+ scale I had lying around. One of the nice things about the Garmin scale is that you can input results from a DEXA scan and presumably a person’s readings will be accurate going forward. Again, not the case. My fat and muscle mass readings have remain virtually unchanged while my body has shown significant recomposition after starting a GLP-1 agonist and intense exercise program. The Withings scale, on the other hand, shows my continuing improvements in its results. I’m normally a big fan of Garmin’s products. I bought the new Fenix 8 as soon as it was available, for example, and wear it every day. But they need to completely rework the algorithms in this Index S2 scale. If you want to spend hundreds just to get your weight then more power to you. But if you’re looking for any other info from it, I’d recommend a scale from a different manufacturer.

It's a Garmin product, it just works and synchs easily with the smartphone app. However, I would not recommend it for the following reasons.
1. It is extremely difficult to see what your weight is, one little movement and it changes by up to 5 lbs. Step off and it's gone.
2. The other data shows up on the screen, then it's gone. I have no idea where it is stored for use. I only saw weight in my app.
3. It is a shiny black surface. If you've had any piano finish items, you know it shows everything. Micro dust, finger and foot prints. My wife said, "We'll have to clean it every day."
4. It's expensive to only get weight into the app.
Overall, it's fine, but I'm returning mine.
I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with your Index S2 scale. Please be sure you are standing on the scale long enough for the data to be gathered. Please go to support.garmin.com where you'll find many hepful FAQ's and video's on the functions of the device. As well, if you still need assistance you can reach out directly to a prodcut support associate from that link for assistance.
