Allows you to mount your GPS where is can be easily viewed, but still maintain good sit lines for safe driving.

When I bought a GPS for my daughter I added this to the purchase since I don't like the idea of sticking a base to the dashboard or to the windshield. This one is heavy enough and has a friction base to stay put when driving and the GPS can be easily clipped to and removed from the base. Very satisfied.

I was initially skeptical that this would keep the GPS still while I was driving. But I have driven around with this on the flat surface area of my dashboard for at least a month now and I have not once noticed it slide around. Definitely much better than the suction cups that come with the GPS which in my experience tend fall down frequently during the drive.

Offers a much more stable platform for the GPS and lifts it up so that it is easier to see and follow.

Both my wife and I have Garmin Nuvi GPS units. She has the other style Garmin dash mount, which works well. Now that I have used this model for a month, I prefer it to hers. The mount is easy to store in my car, assembles and disassembles quickly, and, once attached to my Garmin Nuvi, makes the unit easy to read and use. The price I got at Best Buy was competitive (actually just a little less than other local retailers, since I bought it on sale).

l like the fact that it was real simple to setup and use. It stays in place for the most part. The only improvement I would make is to make the bottom side of the mount a little more sticky to help keep it in place better.

Nice size and weight. Doesn't slide or move around. A tad on the pricey side because it's a Garmin.

I was able to pick this up on sale for about $14.00, which is an excellent price for a friction mount. I was tired of the suction mount dropping my GPS unit on the dash, so I went out to find one of these. I have yet to have an issue with this moving around on my dash, and it does make transferring my unit between vehicles much easier.

This works great in my car. It's sturdy and holds securely onto my Garmin.

I never had luck with the suction cup attachment staying on the windshield. It would fall off during GPS use; not good. Returned to Best Buy and bought this. This keeps my Garmin in place even when I need to stop fast, I have had it for 4 years. My daughter, my brother, and my sister all bought one, and love them. This is my 2nd only because I gave my older GPS and mount to my son. Definitely a good buy.

I feared the behemoth (sp?) that is the 2798LMT would not work well with this, but it does! I will warn you, though, if you take off like a bat out of hell from a complete stop, it will come flying towards you, but under normal hard acceleration (at freeway speeds) it seems to stick just fine. Under any other regular driving, this thing won't even move! It's great that you can just move it around as you please.

I was not sure the friction mount for my new nuvi2597LMT would stay on the dash, but i am very pleased on how well it has kept my unit in place. if you are looking for a reliable portable mount for your GPS unit THIS IS TH E ONE!

This GPS mount held the unit in place even on the winding back roads. In the truck a window mount is too far away for easy viewing and adjustments, this mount kept the unit from blocking the view of the road, but still kept it within easy reach for adjustments and viewing. I like the adjustable arm that made it easy to change the viewing angle for driver and passenger without having to move the whole mount.

I needed something for an older Garmin GPS and this fit the bill. Easy to setup and use and keeps my GPS stable. Kinda outdated now with new cars having GSP built in, but for old school people this will work just fine.

I should of bought this years ago. It is weighted perfectly and does not move on the dash of my work van. The old one that was suction cupped to the window would fall off in the hot sun. Also,it would get in the way of putting up my silver windshield cover. The work vans windshield is large and I would have to reach to set the g.p.s. Now with the Garmin vehicle mount it is right there on the dash and I don’t have to reach to use my g.p.s. Also,it’s so much easier to put up my sunshade. Also fits in the recessed radio screen area perfectly in my 2012 accord. Not on the dash

After having issues with the windshield suction mount that came with my Garmin GPS, I started looking for a more reliable one to keep my GPS unit from falling. I bought this mount for our most recent road trip and couldn't be happier with my purchase. My GPS stays firmly in place on my dash and the mount does not slide even when making sharp turns. Just wondering why I didn't buy it sooner.

This is, by far, the only holder I will use for my Garmin GPS. It works much better than the suction cup on the window. The base sits steady on the dash, does not slide, and once you position your GPS, it stays. No slipping of the GPS or falling off the dash. I would highly recommend this holder over the suction cup.
