I loved my VivoFit in the beginning, but just 2 1/2 months later - it is not working as well. It isn't measuring my steps correctly. I can be out all day - walking, and it says I haven't met my steps, and yet - I'm in the house all day just doing a few chores and it tells me I've met my goal. (Even when # of steps to meet goal is the same)
It tells me to get moving - when I've been up and around for 20+ minutes.
I love the feature that allows me to read texts and know my phone is ringing if phone is on silent. I like the fact that it adjusts my number of steps required to meet my goal based on previous days. As I have a disability that doesn't always allow me to move as much, it helps me feel successful without having to reach the same number of required steps each day.
I researched the different monitors and decided on this one, I just wish it had continued doing what it did in the beginning. I have not contacted Garmin yet - but do plan on it.

Great product! Soft band and water/sweat proof! I used to own a Nike fuel band until it stop working because it was more of a hard plastic which ended up breaking easier. The iphone application interface face has improved a lot but it still needs some work. The band is really soft and light, i can bearly feel that im still wearing it. The battery needs to be recharged about every 7 or 8 days, takes an hour or two to fully charge. Phone alerts on the band are great, i didnt really think it would be useful but it is. Over all i think its a great product.

I definitely enjoy this fitness tracker. It does a lot of things well, however, in my experience, the battery life is not what is advertised. My tracker also seems to have some bluetooth connectivity issues from time to time. Other than those two gripes, it does it's job well.

I am very pleased with the Garmin Vivosmart. I previously owned both a Fitbit Force and a Fitbit Flex. Although I did not get a rash from the Force, I returned it with the recall and ended up with a rash from the Flex. Fitbit was very gracious and returned my money. I really wanted the Jaybird Reign, but when I found out that the software would not be available for android until sometime in 2015 I went ahead and bought the Vivosmart, with the heartrate monitor. I previously purchased a Vivofit, which I did not like for many reasons, but the Vivosmart solved all of the issues. The Vivosmart holds a charge for at least a week, and that is using it quite frequently. I love the way it keeps track of activities and melds with my other Garmin products. The software is getting better and better. I would recommend this to everyone.

Longer Battery
More Durable
Waterproof
Easier to wear
Been through 2 fitbits (flex & hr) both fell apart within 6 months. The Garmin is holding up much better and has virtually the same features.

The steps were not 100% accurate. As I opened box and started using for the first time. I kept looking at band to see it counting steps but it didn't. Later I realized it needs hand in motion. Notifications were great. Shape of band and fit on wrist was great. Overall satisfied. But for professionals, it can be a toy.

I've been trying this out for about a month but it will be going back to the store. My primary reason for buying it was so that I did not have to pull my phone out for notifications all the time. It does that fairly effectively (though it misses some sometimes). I also wanted an alarm clock that wouldn't wake my wife. It does that well too.
However, it will not stop counting steps when driving. I have a long commute (about 25 miles) and it adds between 2000-3000 steps each way. I've tried just about everything and it just doesn't work. It's a known flaw and there really isn't a way to fix it. So, back it will go to Best Buy. Which is a shame because I really wanted to like it and, for the most part, I do.

This product has been great! Way better quality feel, also it feels more secure on your wrist with the added rubber cuff! Furthermore the functionality of the software is more user friendly. I love it! My only problem is that it doesn't track your heart rate through your wrist. It comes with a (perhaps more accurate) cumbersome contraption that goes around your chest. Unless you are really concerned about HR with workouts only then it's ok. If u r just curious from time to time ... This may not be for you. Personally should've saved some $ and got the one without HR. Otherwise it's perfect!

It's a neat little gadget for the price. It's scratch resistant and durable. It's super easy to read all texts and other media from a smart phone. You can control music with it. Keeps track of fitness if you want that as an option. You can add or take off features depending on what you want it to do.

I wear my wristband every day, don't even notice it. I like that I can get messages on it. I like that it changes my average daily steps if I'm walking more than the present average.

Need heart rate? Step counting? Movement reminder? This does it all. Finally one with a slim adjustable band that fits larger wrists. Wish the software was a bit better but still the best fitness tracker on the market.

A lot more accurate than the fuel band I had. Plus it is water proof and rated to go deeper than a lifeproof phone case. I have enjoyed it and the heart rate monitor with it is a plus.

This tracker is my first, so there's not much to compare it to. It does what I expect. Seems accurate enough on step counting. The HRM works well and syncs to my bike computer. The bike speed sensor syncs to the Vivosmart easily, but there's a known issue where it loses the signal and when it picks it up, it'll show an unrealistic max speed (such as 25,000mph) which throws the stats off. The Garmin app is supposed to sync to MyFitnessPal, and sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Both the max speed issue and the app sync issues should hopefully be able to be corrected in time with software update. I like the iPhone vibration alerts, but wish I could turn some off on the tracker and leave them on on the phone. Overall it's got me up and about more than I was without it, which is what I was looking for.

Overall I am fairly satisfied with the performance of this tracker. The heart rate monitor is fairly accurate, the step measurementsare a bit off, but overall a very good guide. Integration with smart phone for message and call notificatiosn is pretty good. Screen resolution is what I consider the weekest point. Difficult to read in bright light. Battery life is fairly consistent with other trackers.. Prefer Fitbit app over this, but not a deal breaker.

I actually love the watch. It's got great features and it works well. The app doesn't do the product much justice. I also have a Fitbit and the Fitbit app blows the Garmin app out of the water. In addition you have to download a second app for the map portion of the app to work with the Garmin. The initial app is free but the one you need to use the map feature cost. This is a wonderful product for someone looking to get motivated about fitness.
