The Garmin Vivosmart does almost everything that the fitbit does (except count stairs), but allows you to see notifications from your cell phone as well. While many might not need this feature, I find that it is very helpful during meetings and dinners to glance at my wrist rather than pull out my cell phone for everything that comes across. Then I can decide if it is important enough that I need to excuse myself, or ignore it.

I tried new batteries in it and all and it still did'nt work. I'm not one to return things so I just kept it. The watch was great until a few months later when the display screen started to fade away. I'd rather not buy this item again.

Great fitness tracker

Bad Screen

Only reason I stay with this one is for the HR monitor. The vivosmart HR is not accurate during weight training. If it were I would get it but since it's not, I'm stuck with this one.

Posted .There are many different motivational tools available for the device such as our leader boards and connections with other people and friends in our Garmin Connect app and website. You can also set goals for yourself on a weekly basis and badges to unlock as you are more successful.
You mentioned the alarm clock function not waking you up or setting. With our Garmin connect app and website you can adjust the alarm and would recommend trying it when you are awake to emphasize the reliability as well as see if the vibration is strong enough for your sleeping habits.

Horrible purchase!

Called Garmin and we have to pay shipping to send it to them to get it replaced. Best Buy would not accept the return or exchange. Not happy about having to pay for a defective item and Best Buy not willing to help. Don't buy this product!!!
