Customers highly value the GPS, heart rate tracking, and long battery life of the vivosmart HR+ Activity Tracker. Many appreciate its ease of use and waterproof design, finding it accurate for tracking steps, sleep, and other activities. However, some find the device bulky and the display could be improved. The design also received mixed feedback.

Best fitness band bang for your buck!

This Garmin fitness band is the best I've tried so far! To start off with I loved the battery life which lasted almost a full week on 1 single charge. It is water/sweat proof and I tested fully in the ocean as well as the pool. I like to use it for tracking heart rate along with tracked activities like hiking, running, swimming, and everyday step counts. Steps and heart rate are accurate in comparison to a few others I've tried as well as price point is great! Also it was more comfortable than both the Fitbit HR and Applewatch for a woman with a small wrist like mine.
All in all, best fitness band I've tried thus far!!!

I've only had this fitness tracker for about a month and have no complaints. The battery life is good, I use a lot of the features to monitor all of my activities, and the iPhone app works really well. I also really like the GPS feature and use it a lot though it does run the battery low really quickly. We did an 11 mile hike in Grand Teton and the battery went from full to about a quarter. The only reasons I don't give it a five star rating is: 1. I haven't had it long enough; and, 2. it is a bit bulky compared to some.

This thing does everything I need it to for an intermediate fitness tracker. I had a Fitbit Charge HR and never noticed how big of a pain it was taking it off all the time in the pool or hot tub. Having a tracker that is water resistant to 50m or whatever, is so much more convenient. Plus I think this tracks steps and floors much more accurately than fitbit. The only downside is that it's a little big and I find myself bumping into a lot more things because it sticks out a little farther than I am used to.

Very nice product. I had a Fitbit but didn't like the clasp so wanted to upgrade to one with a closure more like a watch and with heart rate monitor. Was ready to purchase the Fitbit charge 2 but decided to check out this garmin product. I went with Garmin because it is waterproof. I'm really happy with my purchase. It was super easy to set up and fit comfortably. I also like that it's a lot more accurate than my Fitbit. At first I wondered why my step count was lower than on my Fitbit when I thought I did the same amount of steps. Put both on and discovered my Fitbit gave me double the steps and would count brushing my teeth even drying my hands. Definitely glad I chose what I did.

The Garmin Vivosmart HR+ is the all-in-one fitness device that really rises to the top. Not only is this device sleek, smart, and waterproof, (allowing for worry free workouts from the pool to the mud runs), but it also now has GPS capability. I had the Garmin Vivosmart HR, and my only complaint was the lack of GPS. Thank you Garmin for creating the ultimate sleep, activity, and fitness tracker that still keeps me updated and connected through smartphone notifications.

This was a replacement for a FitBit Blaze with a dead battery - mere weeks after the warranty period expired. While I loved the FitBit Blaze, I was not getting caught up in their "planned obsolescence" scheme anymore with batteries that can't be replaced, so purchased this Garmin instead after lots of research. The Vivosmart HR+ definitely tracks steps better than the FitBit, but stairs not so much. It has many of the same features - just takes some getting used to! Still learning all it can do...

The garmin watch has some really nice features and best of all is water resistant. Some of the nice features that stand out are access to text messages, calls and weather. Also tracks sleep, heart rate, steps, calories, miles, running, cardio and other. The downside is the profile is kind of high and is annoying when it catches on sleeves.

Did I mention it's water proof. Excellent. I was looking at fit bits but this one is completely water proof. Love it and all the features. It's just s little big when it comes to sleeping. But not too bad.

On the plus side, it is compact, water proof, has reasonable battery life and works well with my iPhone. But it does not have the functions promised, or at least the way you'd expect them. While it is advertised for running, cycling, swimming and walking, this is really just a runner's watch and the other three functions are variations of the running function that you have to set up in your phone using "workarounds" One major disappointment is that the GPS tracker is very querky -- takes a very long time to find a satellite, and on occasion will not lock on. So you end up standing around for 5-10 minutes waiting for the GPS to say "ready". GPS also very sensitive to battery life; you need a full charge for it to work well. (frustrating for a company known for its GPS strength) Bluetooth connection, too, seems erratic. Both could be fixed by a firmware upgrade if Garmin was interested. The Garmn Connect iPhone app works well but is hard to navigate. The combo of watch plus phone is a great idea, but a little more thought is needed to make the two work well with the vivosmart HR+. So overall, for under $200, I suppose it's ok, but I would think twice next time.

Semi-accurate Fitness Tracker

This is my first fitness tracker and I must say that in general, fitness trackers supplement very well with all lifestyles. I'm an engineering graduate student, and there are times when I'm very active, but other times when I am in the office all day. It's good to get the statistics for both times.
I bought the Garmin Vivosmart Hr+ for its waterproof capabilities, "thin band" (I have small wrists), and GPS tracking. My biggest issue with the watch is that the heart rate monitor is not very accurate. When I'm in the shower for example, my heart rate will definitely less than 100, but it will record 130 bpm. On the flip side, when I run track workouts, the heart rate will stay at 150 when I know I'm somewhere near 185-190. I believe that somehow, the gear is coupled with surface skin temperature, which can lead to pretty inaccurate results.
I really reap the benefits of having the bluetooth connection to my phone, and now I actually check my phone less because in a sense I'm always checking my phone (always wearing the watch). The sleep tracker is rather useful for knowing the quality of my sleep (deep vs. light sleep hours). I'm not sure how accurate the number is, but they correlate well with how sluggish or rested I feel.

This is an excellent fitness tracker. The built in GPS is great and lets me leave the phone at home. Also it's waterproof which is good for runs in the rain. Only downsides are that it's a little bulky and the app is not as user friendly as other trackers out there.

I purchased this device for my wife as an upgrade/replacement for her previous device, a Garmin Vivofit 3. Best Buy had it on sale for 25% off and I had to take advantage of that deal. This product has only one flaw that prevented a 5 start review: the screen scratches ridiculously easy. There should have at least been a recommendation to purchase a screen protector when I was shopping for it online. Lesson learned.
This thing does everything she needs: tracks steps and activities, utilizes GPS for accuracy, provides alerts for her choice of phone apps, and the most important of all, IT'S WATER RESISTANT. Unlike your average Fitbit, sweat and rain during our morning runs won't kill it. When the budget permits, I'll also upgrade my Vivofit 3 to the Vivosmart.

I got this tracker as a gift for my wife. She loves it and all the features it comes with. She's very active and loves to swim that's why i choose this one because of the waterproof factor. Easy to use and it syncs with any phone weather its android or apple. Battery is great. She charges it every 3 or 4 days depending on usage.

the software works well but there are some problems. It doesn't register stairs climbed. The screen is so small it presents a problem with swiping to different aspects. There doesn't seem to be a way to change some of the data, I can change weight but can't change the heart beat that indicates the intensity level (I'm 74 and have a heart issue-the preset level is not accurate for me). The battery life is good as long as you're working out inside, once using GPS you drain it fairly fast. It is however waterproof (at least as far as I've used it for kayaking and swimming).

I had a FitBit that I liked but it didn't seem very accurate. So I looked around for a reasonably priced fitness tracking watch with GPS and landed on this Garmin. Overall I'm happy with the watch but there are a few gotcha's that I have run into. One, the GPS has a hard time connecting to the satellites. Maybe it's my location but it takes a few minutes to connect. Once connected, it's fine. Two, the watch sit very high on my wrist. The FitBit was much slimmer. I run into issues when I wear a button down shirt. And three, the reporting and capabilities are so extensive that it can be cumbersome to get to the information that you want. Overall, it works as advertised and the battery life is decent - 3 to 4 days.

Love the fact it is waterproof since I work around water most of the day. It is comfortable to wear and I hardly ever take it off. Keeps good record of steps. Also was able to manually add data from a stationary bike workout which I do almost every day. Battery seems to last a decent amount of time.

After several other activity trackers failed (Jawbone Up and FitBit Charge) to remain durable, I decided to go with the Garmin VivoSmart HR. So far, I am not disappointed. It is lightweight and adjustable so you don't get the rash issue that some experienced with the FitBit. The charge lasts about a week but recharging is quick and easy. The display is large and easy to read. A quick swipe of the screen lets me know what time it is, how many steps I have taken, how many floors, I have climbed, calories burned, how many active minutes, and how many miles have been logged. Using bluetooth, I can access local weather, notifications, and control music on my synced device. Bonus: This one is waterproof so I can wear it in any weather conditions and even in the shower or the pool.

Bought this as an upgrade to my VivoSmart that was very basic. Love that it keeps up with my HR while I'm walking. I also love the GPS I can use when walking for accurate distance. Battery will last about 7 days on one charge. Numbers are nice and big and easy to see.

Good daily activity tracker with wrist-based HR monitor and GPS. A little higher profile than the original vivosmart and I sometimes catch it on things.
