Decent for tracking steps but a good pedometer could do that. The battery life is too short, mine runs down in 2 days.

I was looking at the Fitbit charge and decided upon this one. Glad I did. Love the screen display and all the tracking abilities. Main plus is the notification alerts.

I went through numerous fitbit products due to their quality. After getting frustrated with all the exchanges, I went into Best Buy to see my other options. The gentleman that helped listened to what I had to say and recommended the Garmin Vivosmart HR. So far, it had outlasted any other brand I have owned only downfalls are no option to set multiple alarms and no challenges :(

This new version makes improvements in the right areas from the previous. A bit bulkier than previous version, but better display with heart rate monitor nice trade off.

I missed the boat on tracking my bicycling. This unit doesn't have GPS. I should have bought in store versus on line, as a Best Buy rep would have saved me from myself. Two concerns-- this unit losses it's link with my iPhone too often. Also, my wrist isn't particularly large, and the standard band is too small.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I’m sorry to hear about the Bluetooth connection trouble that you experienced with your vívosmart HR, and that the standard band is too small for your wrist. I would like to take a moment to offer some troubleshooting suggestions that may help you with these issues.

It’s important to ensure that the vívosmart HR, Garmin Connect Mobile, and your iPhone are all up to date. The vívosmart HR can be updated via Garmin Express (j.mp/GRMNXP), and steps on how to do so can be found in the following FAQ (http://bit.ly/1I21mhx). Garmin Connect Mobile can be updated through the iTunes App Store (iTunes App Store > ‘Updates’ > If an update is available, Tap on ‘Update’ next to Garmin Connect Mobile), and the iOS on your iPhone can be updated through iTunes on a computer.

It’s also important to ensure that you’re following the pairing steps as they’re listed here: (http://bit.ly/1HUU84d). The vívosmart HR periodically synchronizes data with Garmin Connect Mobile automatically, but instructions on how to manually sync your data at any time can be found here: (http://bit.ly/1MESpg0). If syncing issues persist, please visit j.mp/GRMNSupport to contact Garmin Customer Care for additional troubleshooting and assistance.

With regard to your wrist band concern; there are two wrist band sizes for the vívosmart HR. We recommend using the vívosmart HR sizing guide to help with deciding which size would fit best: http://www8.garmin.com/fitness/pdfs/vivosmartHR-band-sizing-guide.pdf

Again, we appreciate taking the time to provide us with your feedback. (KS) Garmin

My Garmin Vivo is an overall great product. It keeps track of all the necessary stats for me to stay on track with my fitness goals. The app is user friendly and easy to navigate. My only issues with it is th at it is rather bulky - it's not as sleek as the FitBit. And sometimes it has to be worn really snug to accurately read my HR. But all in all, it's worth the investment.
