This wasn't my first choice, but im glad I bought it, its fast, when its on and no programs are running its using 1.5GB of RAM out of 6GB, with 640GB HD its pretty nice, graphics are good, played Halo 2 on medium settings, though it has a ATI Radeon 3200 HD with 512MB shared, which isnt what i had in mind but it does the work, its very quiet and cool, you cant even hear it, keyboard feels solid, mouse a bit fast but i am going to upgrade keyboard and mouse anyways, could use a DVI port, but does come wit VGA and HDMI port, this is a great computer, its cheap and runs GREAT!!!

Alright, I am a 16year old student who does some gaming, not too intense, but i do lot of downloading, multitasking, surfing through myspace while itunes is on, with downloading stuff from internet, while writing a essay or so.. This product.. seems like it's never going to be slow. Heavy multitasking possible, and people say graphic card suck or is not that good, but it is more than what u need. it's FINE. Well if you don't know that much about computers, 6gb ram means really fast processing, while most computers have 1-4gb.. and 640gb hard drive is enough for any downloads you want to have and save. laser mouse, flat keyboard came in handy, mouse simple to use, works right away, keyboard has cool eject, volume control buttom, making it a good keyboard for itunes.. controllable.. wired keyboard and mouse doesn't bug u that much as u think, so don't tire yourself on buying 70bucks cordless mouse and keyboard. I wouldn't recommand the speakers for this computer, because not that it doesn't work good, but that it has amazing sound supporting system. I got 5.1 logitech surround sound speaker system, 80bucks, sounds like a singer is singing right infront of me. I WOULD SAY BUY THE PRODUCT DEFINITELY!!! BECAUSE well you try to get a features like this computer for under 600-700bucks.. no way that's gonna happen.. Boots up in 50seconds,(faster than what u think if u actually time ur computer) LOADS ITUNES IN 3 SECONDS FLAT 3!!! TURNS OFF IN 10 seconds FLAT. CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Windows VIsta 64-bit is really not that great.. PEOPLE SAY THIS WITHOUT TELLING YOU WHAT IS NOT THAT GREAT WELL HERE YOU GO-----------IT NEEDS 64-BIT DRIVES AND PROGRAMS!! EXPLANATION=== alright, i used windows xp 32-bit computer for 5years, and i downloaded some programs, wireless adapter drive for my new computer. BUT!!!!! MOST--I MEAN REALLY MOST of the programs out there have only 32-bit support, which in 64-bit vista, DON"T WORK!!! SO I HAD TO BUY A NEW WIRELESS ADAPTER, NEW 64-Bit SUPPORTABLE ITUNES, AND WHOLE LOTS OF ANTIVIRUS,PC CLEANING PROGRAMS. Trust me, it's pain in the somewhere.. However, more of 64-bit programs are coming out, AND IT's WINDOWS & FREEEEEEEE UPGRADE. YOU'll HAVE TO PAY LIKE 150BUCKS AFTER NEXT YEAR, SO BUY IT!!! DEFINITELY RECOMMANDED.. I LOOKED OVER FOR COMPUTERS FOR 3WEEKSl, NO DEAL WHATSOEVER AS GOOD OR SIMILAR TO THIS COMPUTER..DEFINItely REcommanded.!!!

i bought this pc because of what it offers for the price...and it is a monster for the price...ive always preferred amd...they always seem faster to me than intel and hard drive, ram is huge on the pc...on the down side the hdmi port is useless....mine doesnt work half the time...forced to use vga but whatever...i call gateway technical support and they dont want to help you...for support you have to pay gateway or acer because it really isnt a gateway..but good computer...

Today I brought this machine home to replace a dell that was fired during a thunderstorm. I'm not brand loyal to neither a pc nor processor. Most manufacturers produce good and bad products. The trick is to buy what you need for a price your willing to pay. My previous dell served me well but a comparably equipped dell would cost me almost twice as much as this gateway did. I wanted a dual core, DVD burner, and plenty of USBs at the minimum. Pretty standard for most PCs these days. This machine has all that and a bunch more. Huge hard drive, tons of ram for Vista (which comes with free upgrade promise to Windows 7 in the fall), media card readers, firewire, super convenient USB ports in a little tray on the top of the case for the camera and ipod, and my favorite feature of all, a HDMI out. Simply put, this pc looks great on my 47" Toshiba Regza! Razor sharp 1080p full screen. And even better, all I had to do was plug in the cable and select the proper input from the menu on my tv. The computer automatically detected the TV via the HDMI cable and set itself up. Nothing has ever been that easy. I played a quick round of Call of Duty on the big screen and it was flawless. I know that the ATI integrated video card is not a gamers first choice, but to be honest it does just fine and the same can be said for the 7.1 channel audio which btw comes thru loud and clear on the tv via the HDMI. But your not stuck with this card as there is a free PCI express x16 slot to expand the video capabilities and the case is roomy enough to allow a full height card. The weak parts (all budget machines have them) of this setup are the keyboard, mouse, and speakers. But in all truthfulness most people (myself included) prefer to add these themselves. I will be reusing my logitech cordless keyboard/mouse combo and the cambridge 5.1 speaker setup carried over from my dell. In regards to the 5 stars for reliability, since I have only had this computer running for a few hours I can't make a true determination about the reliability of this system. Only time will tell how reliable it will be down the road.

I had been shopping around for a pc with 4ram and 500gb memory (this one has 640) for a few months. I saw this on sale and jumped on it. You won't find a price that compares to it. Super fast, super quiet, lots of USB ports, looks good. Monitor is great too.

I have not purchased a new computer for nearly 6 years, so I took my time looking at them when I was ready to upgrade. I have to say that this computer is the best value for under 500 that is on the market. I looked at every website, store, even tried to build it myself and I could not match the features for the same price. Best Buy ran a special: This computer 20 inch Gateway Monitor Epson Printer for 499.99....Bought it the next day. I have had it almost a month and must say it is a great computer. Does everything I need and more. I use it for photo editing, movies, and the Internet. I will soon use it for some small video editing, can't wait to see what it does.

i buy this computer because has a lot of space for upgrading. this computer is very fast, works very well. can play some games like crysis in low settings and age of empires 3 in high settings the first day i use it work fantastic then the next day it dosnt turn on and it was very frustrated to go to best buy again (i live 40 miles to the nearest best buy) but i have no problems to change it for a new. I think i will upgrade the video card for some gaming. i am very satisfied with this computer. i recommend this to everyone

this thing if very fast and unless the HD is running you cant tell if the thing is even on..lol. Vista performance rates the CPU at a 5.5 out of 5.9 The Ram and HD are rated 5.9 And the Integrated Video is ...3.7 out of 5.9(What do you expect?). All in all this is a very good base for anyone to build off of, plus it didnt have much bloatware(A plus in my book.)

Gateway still seems to impress me with their products. I bought a laptop about 4 months ago with a lot of memory, webcam, and a cheap price of $499. SO I saw this offer and wanted to jump on a desktop with a lot of memory and Gigs and thought that this was a pretty good deal. I'm very happy with the product and I'm hooked on gateway products. I would have given it all 5's in ratings but when I took it out the box the hard drive was not connected to the computer. Best Buy simply connected it and its been working fine. I bought a nice 23 inch flatscreen to match it and payed a total of $709 and it came with a printer and a free upgrade to Windows 7 (not bad Gateway not bad!) I'm saving up to get the Netbook with Windows XP if Best buy does not sell out of them as an outlet item. :)

This is the first time I have taken the time to sit down and write a review about a product purchased. I could not continue that practice in this case because this computer is an exceptional value. I spent 2 weeks looking at various system that would meet my need. I am a mid-range gamer (Battlefield 2, 2142, Steam Source Games like Day of Defeat, CSS etc) and even without a discreet video card and just relying on the integrated HD 3200 I am impressed with the ease to which this system handles what I need it to. I do plan to add the additonal card but am not in a big hurry due to the outstanding performance experienced thus far. The AMD x2 7550 + processor at 2.7 ghz, in my opinion from my research, blows away some of the lower end Quad core processors due to it's exceptional design and the fact this machine comes stock with 6 gb of RAM. This machine is sleek looking and has room for expansion....if you need to. This machine is FAST and very very quiet...The hard drive is very speedy in itself and need I say more about this system? If you are on a budget....need exceptional performance and would like to spend less than $500.00 THIS BEAST IS FOR YOU! I'm sure you will enjoy yours as well as I (and everyone else in my family) do. Good job Best Buy!

Great computer, haven't had any problems with it from day 1. I got this computer so I could play computer games and do homework and stuff. It has performed awesome with World of Warcraft, and a few other games. Definitely reccommend this to anyone

I just got this yesterday but it is so fast I can't believe how slow my old pc was......so far I love it and the price was awesome for all you get. It's nice looking, has quite a few slots and so far is just awesome for the price.

This pc is fast and great. What a great deal. Best Buy tested it out and everytthing worked. Even the hdmi works on this one. If you need a pc and have the money, then get this system.

Bought this for my parents to use and they love it. I did all the setting up and transfering, quick and easy. Not top of the line, but for the price really an excellent buy. If you are looking for a good desktop PC at lower price this is great.

the is a great computer especially for a sub 500 dollar price tag i added a 650w psu and a new graphics card and now this baby really cooks great rig to build off

Purchased this to to replace my previous gateway with a 2ghz sempron and 1.5gb ram. Definitely saw an improvement. Only down part is the integrated radeon hd 3200. Runs most games older on mid settings with it , so you only need to upgrade the card for higher settings.

I use this computer for internet browsing and basic applications. It doesn't come with a monitor, but that's ok the price is still great. Easy setup. Howeer, one USB port doesn't work. Come with Vista; transferred my previous hardware and had to get approprite drivers. Some devices like my scanner would not work with Vista. Runs fine, no issues except USB port. It does have 4 other working ones.
