Mewsette, a starry-eyed cat who grows weary of life on a French farm and heads for the excitement of 1890s Paris. Her tomcat suitor, Jaune-Tom and his furry cohort, Robespierre chase after Mewsette, but she's already fallen under the spell of a feline modeling-school racket run by the plump Madame Rubens-Chatte and her slimy assistant, Meowrice. Can Mewsette avoid corruption in the big city?

Judy Garland and Robert Goulet lend their voices to the main two cats, Mewsette and Jaune Tom, so this is filled with wonderful musical numbers. While not as famous as the Disney's Aristocats, I think it stands just as strong and should be in the home of everyone who loves a good classic cartoon with great animation and fantastic music. It depicts Paris beautifully in its plot of a poor country cat wanting to go to Paris and be rich. It even has a small segment in the middle honoring a few famous artists such as Claude Monet, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Georges Seurat, Henri Rousseau, Amedeo Modigliani, Vincent van Gogh, Edgar Degas, Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin and Pablo Picasso. Over-all it is well done and well worth adding to your cartoon collection either for yourself or for your children.

Musical animated cats in Paris with Goulet & Judy Garland doing the singing. Loved this when I was a kid and now have for grandkids. Remember old school animation when you watch it
