The shelves of your refrigerator should not exceed 50 pounds total weight for full width shelves and 25 pounds for half width shelves. These same limitations hold true for glass and plastic vegetable bin covers. Needed as much space as possible without needing an ice maker (although that’s an option with this fridge). Great value for a SS unit.

DIDN'T NEED STAINLESS STEEL BUT THAT WAS THE COLOR THEY HAD IN STOCK.

Regarding noise, we do expect the refrigerator to make some sounds as it operates; newer models can sound a bit different than older models because of newer technology and additional features. If it may be helpful, more information on what noises the refrigerator may make is available on page 19 of the manual; that can be viewed on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. It was so difficult to tell them to take it back redeliver due to work schedule so took the delivery and customer service was not appreciative at all

Six months later, service was required because of loud knocking & failure to cool. This refrigerator is SO LOUD with intermittent knocking.
