    I'm Impressed

We had to replace our Frigidaire dishwasher that we inherited when we purchased our house 2 years earlier. It didn't seem that old, so we were quite disappointed when both of its motors burned out. We shopped around quite a bit and settled on this GE at Best Buy, who had the best price. Overall I have been very impressed with its performance. It is vastly quieter than our old Frigidaire. It is located very close to our TV room, and we can't hear it at all when the TV is on. With the old Frigidaire, we used to have to close the door to hear the TV! It is true that the control panel is silver-colored plastic, but it really blends well with its stainless tub and with our other stainless appliances. I don't think it's a big deal. I thought it was much more important to have the stainless interior, which repels odors. The steam cycle is fantastic. Everything comes out clean and dry. I never have to use the heated dry cycle. It does well with dirty dishes, though it may not completely clean off dried caked-on food material. I noticed once it didn't completely clean an oatmeal bowl. Other than that, I've had no issues. It has great room for odd sized dishes and multiple configurations. The silverware caddy is located on the side and keeps well out of the way of the other dishes. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

    Very Quiet

My appliance repairman recommended I get either Whirlpool or GE, with a slight preference to GE. I went with this GE model because of the features for the price. I had to replace a low budget Fridgidaire that crapped out after only two years. Our other appliances are Professional Series, but the dishwasher was not. This GE is way quieter than our old dishwasher. I shopped around, and getting this low of a decibel rating with a stainless steel interior tub could not be found with Whirlpool. The GE also has three spray arms compared to most brands only having two. So far the unit is really good. Cleans well. Easy to use. And again, very quiet. We have no problems running this thing when people are watching TV. Our kitchen is open to the family room too. I have only had it for a month or so, but so far we love it. I got the extended warranty since our other dishwasher only made it two years, but hopefully with GE we won't need it. I usually don't get the extra warranty, but Best Buy had this dishwasher a lot lower than other retailers, so I could afford it.

    Nice for Price

After searching to replace ours...we wanted value and reliability for a modest price, in stainless with good reviews. And frankly that took us 5 months to find!!! This dishwasher seemed to have all that. We liked the reviews, and are still in agreement with them. I think it's one of the lowest priced stainless models out there. Best bang for your buck! GE seems to have a decent rapport ~ anymore nowadays one model is great, while another is horribly reviewed. My husband had it installed in no time..and not really anything surprising. We were pleasantly suprised on the first run just how quiet it is...you can hear it (unlike some reviews...it's not that quiet) but it's quieter than most. I don't mind the set up - fits our dishes nicely. I think I would've loved to know about the upgraded model with smart dispense. Our model is not, but that sounds cool! Might've paid more if I had known. Anyhow - all in all - very satisfied, and enjoying the dishwasher cleaning my dishes quietly so I don't have to! Oh and the fact that it's Energy Star adds the bonus of a rebate from our Utility Company!! Always nice.

    Great quiet dishwasher

Had this dishwasher for 10 mos - cleans great! glasses shine! however, I do not put food caked plates/utensils in the dishwasher -never have. I mostly use the Normal Wash/Heated Dry - everything comes out very clean. Best feature is how quiet the dishwasher is - you can barely hear it washing. I also enjoy the delayed start too. I would recommend for anyone looking for a good dishwasher!

After owning a plastic tub dishwasher for many years, it was a huge change switching to the new stainless model. We never realized how loud our old unit really was until we first turned this unit on. We could barely hear it. The flexibility in terms of loading is much better than our previous unit and we have yet to need to re-run a load of dishes due to insufficient cleaning. We love it and have had no regrets.

Have had this dishwasher for about a month, and it is great. I use the steam option, and it cleans everything. I like the tray on the top shelf for small glasses. It senses how clean the dishes are, so no timed cycles or minutes left display, but who needs these as long as the items are clean. Use normal cycle, have not tried the other cycles. Like the stainless interior, avoids smells and stains. Excellent product, especially for the price.

    Great Dishwasher

We've had this dishwasher for 6 months and I'm comfortable saying it's great. This was one the lowest priced all-stainless steel dishwashers (including tub) available with a steam-clean option. I'm obviously not counting the gray control panel here. This dishwasher does a fantastic job cleaning even with tough baked on casseroles and pastas. It is much quieter than our old kenmore, and has quality construction. The rack layout is good, but there are no fold-down tines like some of the other models in this price range offer. The heated drying option works well, but plastic items do come out with some wet spots.

We've had this about 2mths & just love it! It is very quiet & cleans great! We use the heated dry & have not had any water spots & very little water left in things like tupperware lid crevices or the tops of cups. Love the look!

Works well, replaced my 2001 Maytag (junk) with this GE, I has been great, can start while watching tv and not notice it. I do have to rinse pots and pans, but compared to the old one this is heaven.

This is a dishwasher that really washes your dishes! My previous dishwasher was basically just a dish sanitizer as I had to completely wash the dishes before I put them in. Now the dishwasher does the job! It is also very quiet! I love it!!!

    Does Not Clean Dishes

I am so disappointed with this machine. I had high expectations, but unfortunately it did not deliver. In every load that I've done since purchase there have been MULTIPLE dirty dishes in each load. And I am even a devoted pre-rinser, too! Also on about 20% of the loads I've done, the detergent packet hasn't released, thus resulting in having to re-run the load. AND there is considerable streaking down the front of the machine. At first I just attributed this to steam, water, etc. However, come to find out it is detergent vapor leaking out through the seam where the control panel meets the stainless steel. Lastly, and I will blame this on myself, but I didn't realize how small the bottom shelf was. It's not very big. Note: I will say that is quiet.

Finally a quiet dishwasher in my house! It does a great job cleaning dishes while doing so quietly! I love the racks; plenty of room and layed out nicely.

We've had our dishwasher installed for about 1.5 months. So far there have been no problems with the exception of soap residue, which is due to hard water issues. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a good quality, reasonably priced dishwasher.

    absolutely HORRIBLE product

We stumbled on a big sale at our local Best Buy on floor model dishwashers and selected this model, the GE, over Maytag and LG...what a mistake! This thing is a PIECE OF JUNK! Seriously, it does not wash dishes! The first few loads, I kept blaming myself thinking: "Well, I must have overloaded." "Maybe the glasses need to be angled." "Oh, I know, I'll try the extra heat setting." But the fact is, the thing just cannot clean a dish to save its life. I hesitated to say anything to my husband because this was a gift for me and I felt like I would be ungrateful, but the last straw came when I made a cake and not ONE saucer was entirely clean. Even the icing wasn't removed from the top of the cake dish! What a joke. I admit it, I was attracted to the stainless steel (who isn't these days) but TRUST ME...no matter how decent a dishwasher looks, it has to WASH dishes! Buy this dishwasher and, tonight after dinner, you will be ANGRY because you will be washing everything over by hand. As an aside, I was so disappointed in the performance of this machine (and that an American company produced it) that I tried for an hour or so to get in touch with the design team in Louisville to give them feedback. I finally gave up after interminable run-arounds but stumbled on a website that is almost entirely dedicated to the shortcomings of GE appliances in general. They have an entire section of horror stories about this particular dishwasher and others like it. Whatever you do, DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO BUY THIS MACHINE! If you do, just be absolutely sure you can return it, because, trust me, you will be kicking yourself if you can't.

THE PICTURE ONLINE IS VERY MISLEEDING. THIS IS NOT ALL STAINLESS STEEL. THE TOP PART WHERE THE CONTROLS ARE IS ACTUALLY A GREY COLOR. FOR THE PRICE YOU ARE BETTER OFF GETTING THE SAME MACHINE WITH THE BLACK TOP FOR $400. OR FOR AN ADDITIONAL $100 GET THE 100% STAINLESS STEEL.
