Customers regard this 24" Top Hidden Control Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher with Stainless Steel Tub as impressively quiet and a highly effective cleaner of dishes. Positive feedback also highlights its capacity, ease of use, and stylish appearance, particularly the slate color option. However, some concerns exist regarding the product's longevity and extended cycle times. The dishwasher's size has also been noted as a potential drawback by some users.

    Defective product

We've had this machine for about 3 years its been giving us problems this past year. At times it would just not power up. All lights on display are off. The outlet has been tested and it working. The solution is to unplug the machine and after some random amount of time when you plug it in it might start working. Seems to be a common issue on these models where the main control board or the user display board need replacing. I can understand why GE doesn't issue a recall of the defective units to get the issue fixed.

Bought this dishwasher April 2019. Loved the look and style. It worked okay while it lasted but it quit working less than 3 years after purchase. Disappointed!

    2 Years of low/moderate use - Machine won't run

I live with my fiancee, we run the dishwasher every 3 days or so. We don't put anything out of the ordinary into the machine since we know that somethings should be hand washed. After 2 years (just after the limited warranty ran out), the machine won't run because it thinks the door is open. I hired an appliance company to replace the door latch/sensor they did - the machine still won't run. The start and indicator button just flash and beep. I did the full reset/restart process. Still nothing. I called up GE customer service with no help whatsoever. They wanted to charge me $110 for someone to come to the house for a visit without even completing any repair/parts. The appliance company I hired said it was likely the machine would need to be replaced. I wouldn't recommend this GE dishwasher or any GE product to anyone. The once reputable company and brand has been plummeting in quality and reputation. 1/5 - Look at other dishwashers even if it's a few dollars more.

    Great dishwasher

Our dishes come out noticeably cleaner than with our old dishwasher. It's also extremely quiet! I did the installation myself and it wasn't too bad. I did notice water inside the unit straight out of the sealed box, but I've read that it is there to keep the pump lubricated. Turned out to be nothing to worry about.

Purchased in 2019. 5 years later and it acts up. The unit doesn’t get power all the time. From what I read online it’s most likely needing a new board. I don’t recommend this model

If I could give it zero stars, I would! This was my first GE major appliance purchase I ever made and I regret it. I had purchased this dishwasher in July 2017 and it has had three issues with it already! (Currently having it for 7 months) 2 issues dealt with the little motor on the bottom that made my water leak when not in use. Causing me to stop my hot water from running for two weeks in the kitchen! (Because 2 weeks was the earliest they can send to get repaired every time!) I asked if the dishwasher has a defect that is causing it to get damaged in a matter of 6 months and if so, would I get a new one (not a defect) and they said well they have to wait until same part and same problem occurs THREE times in ONE year in order for them to change the unit. Then they went to tell me that it has been an occurring issue because they had been fixing many other ones recently. Wow, great to know that I am not the only one blowing my head off! Okay, so what if it happens for the third time right after the 12 months of owning it? It's basically my problem. Spent X amount of money on this to last me a measly year with problems. No wonder they keep sending a brochure for extended warranty on this since its obviously going to need major repairs. The third repair was the gasket that had broken and started leaking right under the door. So I couldn't use the dishwasher for 2 weeks until the next available repair slot was open.(At that point, it was no surprise of the waiting time frame for repair). It also leaves ugly markings on the stainless steel even after cleaning it with stainless steel cleaner/polisher. It's like skinny hairlike rust lines. I honestly use the dishwasher about 4-5 times a week so I don't use it heavily to cause major issues! I owned an older dishwasher that lasted me 6 years without a problem until it finally gave out. (Was included when I bought my house.) This had been the most frustrating experience I have ever had with any major appliance. I do not believe I will ever make another purchase from them again, will never recommend and I don't want a new replacement of this model, I honestly just want my money back for a good working (unproblematic) dishwasher. This is the same review I had also posted on the GE appliance website since I registered the appliance there too.

    GE D.W., nightmare

I was forced to wait several months in 2019, before the supply chain issues. The buttons to set wash are terrible, they’ve been replaced, yet they are still defective. The detergent drawer gets stuck at times. Worse of all, I was charged twice for this, when I purchased, it was on sale. However, I purchased a five year warranty. It’s time for Best Buy to replace this terrible machine. It does clean the dishes well, yet breaks my glasses, no matter how carefully I load the dishwasher.

This did great for four years...and then suddenly started having electrical problems, turning on and off randomly. Doesn't seem to be available anymore, which is probably good.

It’s really a good dishwasher cleans very well We have used it now for 5 years and we love it only one downside is the board on the control panel went out and we have to have the geek squad to come out and fix it twice already other than that it’s perfect

I bought this new about 2 years ago. The only time I use it is when I want to keep the thing running and in good order so when I sell my home I know it's still working. It takes 3 hours to run the entire cycle. The dishes still come out wet and stained. Not sure the top arm even works where the jets are attached because the coffee cups still look dirty. Big waste of money. Now I do dishes by hand. You can't tell me that by doing by hand you're not saving energy. And water. This machine is a joke. They've made them so energy efficient that they don't clean at all. I will never use my dish washer for dishes.

Wish I never bought this thing. Purchased the 5 year plan on it and thankfully I did that or it wouldn’t have lasted this long. And now that my 5 year plan has expired the pump has died for a second time. I am loathed to spend another $200 for a new pump so that can last less than 2 years too. When you spend this much for an appliance, you expect it to work.

I've had this dishwasher since July 2017. This week, 5 months out of warranty it quit working. I called the local dishwasher repairman and he said looking at the model number there was no need for him to come. He already knew it was defective and the cost to fix it would exceed the price of a new one. He said multiple components are bad and GE should recall it but it has not. He said not to waste the price of a $100 service call. I called 1800GECARES and no, it has not been recalled. They are no help. DO NOT BUY!!!!

    Only lasts a year

Worked fine for about a year and then stopped cleaning dishes. Warranty only lasts that first year. So I had to pay out of pocket for GE support to come a few times at $150 a pop - still no resolution. Will not be paying them anymore, that money would have been better invested in a new dishwasher which I shouldn't have to buy this soon. GE appliances are awful ever since they sold out to Haier.

    No 3rd Rack

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased this model because it was like the one I had for a year before it broke, BUT it had a 3rd rack. That is, I viewed a video shown with this model advertising the 3rd rack. The 3rd rack is actually on a very similar model but the model number is one digit different. I discovered this on the GE website. C'mon Best Buy, get it right. In trying to resolve the matter, after the appliance was installed, over the phone left me being transferred multiple times and after sitting on hold for 15 mins. I gave up. The installers were great.....not their fault Best Buy falsely advertises. Just checked and that 3rd rack video is still there. SO, if you want that 3rd rack, don't buy this dishwasher.

This dishwasher leaks. We have had multiple people come out and look at it and it is still leaking. Now it is to the point where it will not drain. It was a quiet dishwasher for the short time that it worked. It also did not do a good job drying the dishes.
