Looked at many top end models and narrowed it down to this one and the kitchenaid. Kitchenaid though had a poorly positioned vent up high that shoots out steam on your cabinets. Otherwise features were pretty much the same. First install had a leak after 1hr through the door.- manuf. defect. BB came out the next day and scheduled pickup/replacement, and install. 2nd one works like a charm. Dries well, cleans great and no leaks.

I did a good amount of research for a new dishwasher and for the money it's hard to beat. I found if you put the wash on auto and use the type of recommended dishwashing soap you can put dried dirty dishes in and it will clean it no problem. Very quiet. I have had it for 8 months now and not a problem. We have a 2 year old and trust me it gets used all the time!!

Hello Dave - this is Nancy at GE Appliances. We are very happy to hear that your dishwasher is working well for you. It is important to get the dishes clean the first time, especially if you have a two year old at home. Thanks for sharing your feedback and for choosing GE Appliances! GE_Appliances

    Better options out there

I did A LOT of research before buying this dishwasher and I'm sorry I made the choice I did. Forget getting clean dishes if you run it on normal. I have been using the 'Boost' feature or 'Heavy' and 75% of the time I can count on not having to rewash anything but this means I still have to carefully inspect each item that I take out of it. This is after thoroughly rinsing the dishes prior to putting them in the dishwasher and never putting in pots and pans or anything heavily soiled. You would think that after running for over 2 hours (148 minutes on 'Heavy' with no heated dry!), it would produce clean dishes. The placement of the tines on the bottom rack is horrible which means fewer dishes per load and more time wasted trying to puzzle them in there. There are far better options within this range!
