The refrigerator it self was great they deliver people had to take doors off and then the bottom of it to get through my doorway to kitchen they forgot and lost a screw to put bottom back on and I was told now I have to call manufacturer to get the screws and call them back out to replace on a new refrigerator too much time off work lost for this.

I looked and looked for something decent that had good reviews from her and other sites. At first we were thinking of Samsung until I read the reviews on the ice maker issues. Then LG until I saw all the people have compressor issues. I wouldn't mind having a Whirlpool since it would match our other appliances but this GE refrigerator had more features that I was looking for such as- -Larger size that didn't stick out too much -Adjustable glass shelves -LED lighting -Large ice capacity -Reliability The large ice capacity was important since we like to fill up a small cooler and go places. Most of the other refrigerators have small ice compartments. So far its been a great appliance and no issues. Its quiet but you will here the ice fall when it has to some when the bin is empty. We also like the side by side models since its easier to find the frozen food you're looking for. It does have temp display on the front panel but it doesn't show you until you push the button to check or adjust temp. The stainless front seems to be fingerprint resistant but the handles are not. Oddly the handles match our Whirlpool appliances. All things considered we are happy with this model. Also, if you're weird like me and wanting this to match your other appliance brand, the GE front badge comes off and you can stick on your own badge. :)

It did not take long at Best Buy to see which fridges fit in my space and were in my price range. The time to purchase was fast. The delivery team worked quickly, helped clean up and were knowledgeable. I'm very happy so far with this refrigerator and with all the individuals who helped make it happen.

I ended up returning and getting one of the same model as replacement. I am Total Tech member and Best Buy was great about swapping it out. Also better return period than Lowe's for example which I understand is only 48 hours. The primary problem with the first one was that the refrigerator temp was not cold enough even when I lowered the settings. I decided to try again after looking at reviews of some other refrigerators which seem to be worse. Everything seems to be working okay on this one - not too noisy, ice and water dispenser works and freezer and refrigerator temps are okay. Nice looking. I'm disappointed that the water from the door dispenser is not cold but I was told by rep that this is because there is no water reservoir on this fridge. Stainless steel is nice and doesn't seem to show fingerprints as advertised. Not the refrigerator of my dreams but good enough.

We like the refrigerator it did have a dent in the front door and i am waiting for a check to make up for it. The delivery men where great and made taking out the old refrigerator and bringing in the new easy.

worked fine for 16 months and now it won't cool. 4 months out of warranty and i'm out $1400. Stay away from GE products - they appear to be made poorly.

It is comfortable for the things you have in a home. The bonus of water and ice at the door is great. Does not open repeatedly. Excellent refrigerator! I’ve had for a little over a year now. My prior refrigerator stopped working out of nowhere. Had to throw away so much food. My family and I recovered with this new refrigerator. This is a brand I trust and look forward to having for years to come. Lots of space and has everything I need in terms of function and space.

So far so good, knock on wood. I've only had this refrigerator for about a month now but giving it 5 stars because inventory is short in general and I'm just glad as heck to have a refrigerator. Quality wise, I think that the fingerprint resistant finish is great and easy to clean up against the odd butter finger smudges, etc., but it does not trap most finger touches. The ice maker/dispenser is great and works like a champ. I had another GE with the same ice maker and it lasted 16 years, so hopefully this one will too. And since the ice maker is actually in the freezer compartment and not the fresh food compartment (like the French Door models), you don't get the melting ice issues that drip out of the dispenser. Leveling: The doors fit fine but leveling is hard to do, so make sure your floor is as level as possible. I finally read that the front needs to be about 1/4 inch higher than the rear, so that helped, but if you have side to side leveling issues, that's going to be problematic. I finally just gave up. Interior: I love all of the little LED lights instead of the old-hot bulbs on my previous model; they really help shine up the interior. Regarding the bins in the fresh food side, their fit and quality seem to be a downgrade from the last model I had. The plastic appears thinner and not as stout, and the movement along the bin rails is clunky and gets off kilter easily, but it's nothing I can't live with; just have to close bins tenderly. Compressor wise, there is a ever slight high pitch sound that i can hear only while in the kitchen near the refrigerator. I'm not sure if it's the actual compressor or something vibrating at a high frequency, but I do notice it. Hopefully over time it will fade a little. But internal temperatures are spot on and keep constant throughout the day. That's is, overall it's a very nice unit for the price, which is about half that of the French Door models. Cons-The warranty is only for a year. My older model had a 5 year warranty on the sealed-system, but I guess now since GE Appliance is owned by Haier, they must have changed it to a one year warranty, which is quite frankly ridiculous.

Really like this machine. The ice maker is a little different than our old one and a little slow, but overall, we are very happy with the space and performance of this fridge. I like that we can check the temp from the door controls. Inside is well organized, and though different from our old one, works beautifully. Bright lighting! Nice clean look outside and a good size foe us and for a small family.

So far, this seems to be a good, basic refrigerator/freezer. It is mostly quiet and keeps food at the correct temperature. One of the plastic shelves on the door kept falling out and broke the first day, but I was able to easily get a replacement. Overall, I'm happy with the unit.

Only had this fridge a few days, so if things change down the road I will gladly update. Good: Lighting, capacity of freezer/fridge, deli drawer(!), cold water dispenser, wheels on bottom, seems like it works well enough Bad: LOUD fan/compressor noise, dispenser always drips, doors are uneven (they are level, but fresh food door sticks out further than freezer door), temperature varies wildly in fresh food side, not fingerprint resistant Overall this seems like an adequate purchase to replace an old Maytag. If noise is at all a concern, pass this fridge up. The doors being uneven really bothers me, too: I've yet to find anyone discussing how to fix this issue and I'm unclear if it's just poor manufacturing or doesn't happen often enough.

Purposefully waited six weeks to give my review on this refrigerator so I could put it through its paces. When researching this purchased I saw that people were posting immediately after delivery and I was more interested in the longer term evaluation. First, Geek Squad delivery was the best, hands down. Professional and courteous! The fridge was covered in plastic protection wrap and interior drawers and bins were carefully packaged. Perfect! The fridge cooled down quickly and began making ice the first day. You can check the temp of fridge or freezer in the water/ice control panel and adjust up or down to your needs. I verified the temp shown with a thermometer an it was exact. The dispenser provides water, crushed ice or cube ice and easily switched between functions. THe quality of the build is top notch. The stainless steel skin is excellent and the handles are sturdy and smooth. Inside, the side by side is very roomy and all the space is usuable. The lighting is superb and you can see in all corners and the glass shelves allow you to see what is below as well. THe doors have deep shelves and can hold gallon jugs of milk or juice. THe door shelves slide down the be se urely attached to the door-- no flimsy shelves! If you ever had a door shelf give way you know what a mess that is. The shelves are easily moved and adjustable in the fridge side You have three drawers, one is humidity controlled. The roll in and out easily and have a good finish (no rough edges). THe lighting system is fabulous. The freezer was a pleasant surprise. I had a french door fridge for years and realize that the freezer in the side by side is much more usable. I can quickly see everything in the freezer without sliding shelves or racks! Really much more space. Th machine is pretty quiet and is perfect for us. I chose this one because it did NOT have a zillion bells and whistles. I really never needed to know the fridge temp when I wasn't home, or see inside without opening the door, so a "smart" fridge is a waste of money for me. Overall, I would say this is the best fridge I ever had in th last 40 years. Highly recommend.

It’s been over a year now and we are very happy with this refrigerator. Plenty of room and easy to clean. The lighting is fabulous. The pull out shelves make it easy to get the stuff in back. So far this ice maker works wonderfully which is so rare for us. Usually ours are a mess by now. The idiot light in the door for the filter and the ease of changing that is nice. I will definitely recommend this refrigerator but, make sure you buy the same numbers. I told a neighbor about this one and she thought she was getting the same refrigerator. It not only cost her more but is nowhere close to this one.

Purchased this fridge after a part in my 10+ year old Kenmore (which we loved!) gave out, and it just made more sense to take the plunge on a new (and hopefully long-lasting) one. After probably too much research, we decided on this one, and we are happy we did so. We now have more space, better tasting ice and water (the filtered water jug now gets much less use,) pleasant lighting and more features than our previous fridge. It's also easy to keep clean. On to the delivery experience -- although we had a couple of hiccups with actually getting the fridge in place (first one had a few dents, etc.) Best Buy didn't disappoint in resolving. The delivery and Customer Service teams we worked with were very professional and made sure the end result was a very positive experience. Finally... we did purchase the 5 year Geek Squad Protection plan. For $50/year, it just made sense... yeah, we may never use it, however one issue will probably cost more to fix than the entire plan.

This refrigerator is very well built and super quiet. It has ample room and keeps everything cold. It just does what it’s supposed to do, as all GE appliances do. Delivery was timely and everything went without a hitch. I would definitely recommend this model if you’re in the market for a side by side refrigerator.
