I thought it would be more powerful considering how much it cost but that was not the case. I installed it in a very small room and 1hr later the room was still warm. Temperatures outside were around 80 degrees.

If you want an AC that gets the room under 64 DO NOT buy this one. It only goes to 64 which means the rooms gets to about 67 before it cools it down.

This AC is really not that good. I had a much smaller one and it cooled about 3 rooms. This AC is in one room and barely gets cold. I would only recomend for a very small room or office. The price is way to high for the quality.

We know this issue may have been an inconvenience, and would like to assist. This unit has 6,000 BTUs of cooling power, and is best used to cool a room of 150 to 250 square feet. If the room does not fit that size, the cooling performance may be negatively impacted. A new unit can take a couple days to cool the room down to the desired temperature. You may want to check that the air filter is clean, and nothing is impeding airflow to the unit (such as curtains, furniture, etc.); these factors can affect cooling performance as well. Additional troubleshooting steps are available in the manual and if you think you may need to take advantage of it, information on your limited warranty is available on page 17. Small, But Efficient Unit

After some consideration, we purchased the GE 250 SF 6000 BTU Window AC for a small bedroom. The ordering process was easy. It arrived in time and was placed on our back deck as requested. The unit is very lightweight and was easy to install.
It is quiet and cools the room very well. It comes with a remote as well. The only feature that bothers is that it does not 'remember' the last setting that was used. So, each time the unit is turned on, you have to press the buttons to set it. No big deal though.
I would recommend this to a friend

One side of the ac blows NO air: Thermostat doesn't WORK... AT ALL, as in NEVER: NOW red light is flashing and won't turn off, even though I cleaned the filter! Can't find anything online about any of these issues, nor can I get an answer on the phone... Sad because GE was once a good product... Too bad I was thinking about the before vs possible now >:-(.... And I've only had it about a fecking month!!!

Wish I could give negative stars. Worked for less than six weeks. Went completely dead. Warranty is a joke. No parts to fix. Customer Service wanted me to buy another one, and it had to be GE. You pay out of pocket for two units, then submit a claim and I would get my money back for the bad one in 6 weeks. What a joke.

I bought this product in May 2020 and it broke in December 2020. Even before it broke, it wasn’t a good product. The hotter and humid it was outside, the worse the air conditioner worked. I was a sweaty mess all summer! I like to keep it on year round; however, it didn’t even stay cool in the winter. It was horrible. The only good thing is GE gave me $250 towards a new one when i called to say it wasn’t working. My Best Buy warranty was out, but GE backed their product. Once I bought a new one and sent the receipt, they sent me a check for $250. So I was happy about that. Though I have a new GE product. Hopefully this one works!

Does not cool 109sq ft room. On the initial power on the unit has run for 40 minutes before the compressor kicks on. not worth the money. When I purchased the unit sales staff said I have 30 days to return. My account shows my return option ended after 21 days.

Just bought this 6000 BTU. Took a view days to build structure for my sliding window but I was so happy for cold air. I can’t get power to stay on for more that a second or two. I plug it in, display lights up for maybe 2 seconds. I’ve tried different outlets some Gfic protected one not. and always same result. Fault/breaker isn’t set off at house or at GE plug. All indicator lights are green but no power. Can’t find anything at GE page except try voltmeter.

Does not cool like a normal window unit. If I would have know that, I would never have made the purchase. Lowest temperature setting is 64 and on a hot day that does not make much of a difference
