Customers are enthusiastic about the large capacity, cleaning ability, and ease of use of the 4.6 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer. Many appreciate its strong washing performance and find it a good value for the price. However, some customers note that the washer can be noisy and that the spin cycle may present challenges if the load is unbalanced. The machine's tendency to become unbalanced is also a recurring concern.

Works well, after lid locks it takes a while to unlock if you pause load or want to change settings, if laundry is running while power goes off can’t unlock lid . At least I havnt figured out how

The G.E. washing machine works great and was small enough to fit into our cramped laundry room. Having a flat back really helped.

Basic washer does job using minimum amout of water. Can add more water and usually do. Do not like that it has no agitator or fabric softener dispenser. This is what you get with inexpensive model.

This machine is nice looking on the outside and works as it should. The only problem is that I’ve had the drum replaced 2x in the first 8 months of owning this….Rust is forming on the top, both inside and outside of the drum…My previous washer lasted 10 years and was in good shape when I sold it! The customer service for GE is not great, so plan on being on the phone for a while and then them telling you that your brand new washer warranty doesn’t cover what’s wrong with it.

Unbelievably bad product. Water does not even reach the top of the clothes. Was told low water was intentional bc of water conservation purposes but that machine pulls the clothes down (;impeller model) to clean clothes efficiently. Not true. After complete wash, some parts of clothes actually came out dry. Never touched by water. Pls see pic. Also NO FABRIC SOFTENER dispenser. Tried to manually adjust water - stood there hitting the dispenser button. Ridiculous. Called GE 3 times. Totally useless conversations. First time I called, rep told me fabric softener goes into the bleach dispenser. Wrong!! Shocked at the quality of this product

Hi there, we're so sorry to see you're unhappy with the water level and that this unit doesn't have a fabric softener dispenser. We can certainly understand how this would be disappointing for you and we're happy to help. It's true that you may see less water due to regulations, but if you want more water we suggest selecting Deep Fill on your washer. In addition, if liquid fabric softener is desired, wait until the Rinse cycle status light is lit and the final rinse fill is complete before adding the recommended amount of liquid fabric softener directly to the rinse bath. When adding liquid fabric softener, pour into deeper areas of rinse water while avoiding direct contact with fabric. We hope you find this useful and we're wishing you nothing short of the best. Let us know if you need anything else. - Guy@GEA

Does the job real well.

Soak is good too to lift stains.

I purchased this washer and within 6 weeks it broke. It complety spun around, pulled pipes from my wall and flooded the laundry room. With GE warranty it takes 3 to 4 weeks before anyone can look at it and anotjer 5 to 10 days to repair or replace. So buy the extra warranty.

The washer was delivered by polite and knowledgeable drivers who removed the packaging to allow me to inspect before accepting item. The washer itself has a large capacity with a load size sensor for the correct amount of water to go into the tub. the wash comes out very clean and gives no residue . the only reason for not 5 stars is that the drain hose did not have a hose clamp in the install. the pressure of exhausting the wash water caused the rubber hose part blew off of the machine and flooded my garage after 2 days of use. I went out and got a adjustable hose clamp . It would have been nice to not have to go out to buy when obviously it could have been included for next to nothing cost.

This washer is awesome. It automatically knows how much water to use and has great settings such as towels and sheets, bulky (for fishing gear and such) and there's even a speedwash setting to be used when you don't have time to wait.
The machine really drains the water from the clothes well, which reduces the amount of time needed to dry them. Energy efficient right there.
Do not use a lot of detergent. I'm serious: you only need about a table spoon of liquid detergent for a large load.
There are so many options for washing. You can add an extra rinse and spin, you can add a soak, it's up to you. It's a quiet machine and I love how washing my winter blankets has been so easy - because there is no agitator in the way, there is more room for king sized blankets and comforters and they don't get caught up in anything.
We're really glad we purchased this machine, it's been nothing but magic for doing laundry and it takes the guesswork out of "small, medium, large, extra large" loads because it senses how much water is needed. Been using it for a few months now. Learning curve was quick.
I purchased GE because our last one lasted 16 years.

I went from a Samsung Top Loader to a GE Top loader and I find the GE is loud when it is on a washing or spin cycle. The machine sounds like it straining to get through each cycle. I am not sure what is going on. I need to contact customer service. The clothes come out very clean, however, it is far from quiet.

The only reason I can't give this washer 5 stars is because it IS noisy. I knew this before I bought it, however, as several online reviews complained about the noises this machine makes. It doesn't bother me that much as my biggest concern is whether it gets the clothes clean and it does. Pro points - it actually comes with a MANUAL and doesn't simply tell you to go online and wade through pages to find what you want. It has several choices for water temps and soil levels and actually lets you CHOOSE what you want (unlike my LG dryer which seems to think that it knows better than I do how long and at what temp I should dry my clothes). Con points (other than the noise) - it doesn't have a timer that lets you know how far into the cycle the machine is. It doesn't appear to have a soap dispenser - or if it does, it's not labelled as one.

So far so good. I don't have any major issues with this washing machine, but I will say that I have only had it for about 2 weeks. It is a rather silent washer and it saves on water tremendously so, if you are washing and so happen to stop your washing machine you will see way less water so, you will need to push the deep fill when needed for larger loads. It weighs your clothing which determines the fill of the washer but, I do love the option of the optional settings and the pre-treatment. I think as time progress I will be able to get a better feel of the machine. I will say that it plays a tune when turning the knobs, starting your washer, and when your cycle has ended.
