Great AC Unit. wish it had better window fitting

Furthermore, they have to be cut precisely to keep the hose from disconnecting from window panel. (Set it up and you'll understand) Duct tape helped as did putting a few shims of wood under hose because it would pull out window panel under its own weight. Now it's secure

We had to change it around to have the clamps on the correct side. The “locking” slider for where the hose meets the window portion didn’t lock as well. There is a large gap between the window and the window adapter. Contacted GE about it who basically told me they don’t warranty the window part. I was disappointed with GE customer service. We Jerry-rigged it and it works. Just not ideal when you spend 500 on something.

The best thing about the portable A/C is I have set it up with Alexa to change the temp down at night before we go to bed and increase in the morning to a temp appropriate for us not being in the room. This has saved us a lot of money on our electric bill.

Other than being significantly louder than a box fan on high, it worked pretty well at keeping our bedroom cool for the last half of the Summer 2020. We plugged it in and turned it on today for Summer 2021 and it is no longer cooling. I spent the last 2 hours on hold and in Twitter DM's with GE Appliances to get the unit returned. I'm looking for another unit to get us through this summer now. When it worked, the app was decent and the remote control was OK. The plastic exhaust adapter just barely fits in our 20" wide window.

So we bought this to get her thru this horrible heatwave. She loves it. Now mom won't melt away!! LOL

But since I've been WFH during coVid, this thing has made some hot days very bearable. Would buy again

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The manual shows that the exhaust plastic piece you put in your window has the vent hole on the RIGHT side.However, the piece that comes with the air conditioner has the vent hole in the MIDDLE. As a result, the extension piece can only slide a few inches before hitting the vent. So, despite what the manual says, take heed: If your window is between 20" and 30" wide, THIS UNIT WILL NOT FORM A PROPER SEAL IN YOUR WINDOW.
