First washer was DOA and had major motor issues. Second washer did not have the Wifi sticker to connect the washer to the internet app and it took over a week to retrieve this info from GE. GE told me the retailer store would have this on file.....YEA RIGHT. Top loading washer is not like a front loading machine. It has to be perfectly loaded otherwise it bangs when spinning up each time.

This is Megan at GE Appliances. I am sorry to hear about your experience so far with your washer. Please take a moment to check that the washer is level as this could be contributing to the banging you are experiencing. You can check this by placing a level on the lid from side-to-side and then on the lid from front-to-back. This should be helpful in determining if the unit is level in both ways. If it is level you should also be sure that you are not overloading and that the loads are evenly distributed. This will also improve the balance of the machine.
