My last dehumidifier purchased at Best Buy leaked and became non-functional 11.5 months after it was purchased. Best Buy total tech coverage was awesome and took it back for a refund (only reason I’m still here, honestly) and this unit was what was available for replacement. The pump control seems to be flawed and runs the pump excessively. It was very loud and eventually just stopped on a P1 alarm and would not run unless the pump was disabled on the control pad…probably just burnt out the pump. I returned it and tried the replacement, which basically did the same thing. The quality of these units are truly bottom of the barrel any more. GE is a shell brand stickered over offshore designs that aren’t any better than the cheap stuff. Didn’t even bother trying to contact GE, as all they ever do based on any online feedback is issue a replacement voucher, which I already have two data points to predict what will probably happen with the third one. I was tired of wasting time with it and just bought an aquarium pump and a basement sump pump float switch controller and rigged it inside the water basin to pump the water tank out since I do not have a floor drain conveniently located in the middle of the living room floor. At least if the thing leaks refrigerant because the evaporator coils are made out of 0.01” wall thickness tubing anymore to save cost, at least I will still be able to get it replaced in another 10.5 months thanks to Best Buy total tech coverage. It is better than buying at another big box store and battling with their convoluted warranty claims processes. The state of small appliances these days are just truly awful. I am about ready to just build one myself next time…am sick of replacing dehumidifiers…

So far so good after about 3-4 weeks of operation. Anyone who uses these GE dehumidifiers knows they are basically disposable and don't last past 6 months. This seems like an updated design over the gray ones it has a larger humidistat opening on the side. The humidity range / display only works in 5% increments versus 1% increments on the older model. Aside from that I would say get the one with the pump instead of the one with just the bucket because those buckets can get moldy and nasty quickly as the water stagnates. Even though the pump is another thing that can break its better than having to manually clean it every 2 weeks. You will never get the bucket fully clean anyway as they have odd shaped nooks and edges.

The device works great. So worth the $10 for the water pump! It’s run continuously for 2 months - only had to wash out the plastic filter. Had to take 2 starts off. Upon curbside delivery- the kid hit my car with the cart. He tried to ignore it. When I asked - he responded with it’s no big deal. I can see why it’s no big deal to him, but he didn’t pay for my Lexus Coupe! Service needs to do better!

I am on my THIRD unit trying to get one that works. First unit showed E6 code and constant shut-down after about 2 months. Replacement had very noisy pump and P1 code (pump) with shut-down, right out of the box. Replacement for that has illuminated filter light, indicates 60-65% humidity but compressor is not running even though it is set at 45%, again right out of the box. Unbelievable. Hard re-set did nothing. I have received vouchers for the first two (waiting for payment), but what a waste of my time. Run away from this product. Actual rating is ZERO stars.

Pump broke on first one purchased. Error “P1”. Best Buy was kind enough to replace today. When I get home this afternoon the pump was not working and displayed error “P1” again. Very frustrating.

This unit does not work with the hose attached. Poor design!!! The tank still fills up with the hose attached no matter how it is routed. Pretty lame for the price. I will bring this back.

I should have followed the reviews to avoid the dehumidifier. The pump came defective so I never got water in the bucket or hose

Item works well. Easy to determine the performance changes when settings change.
