The outlet does exactly as advertised. It has a way to attach it to your original outlet with a screw in the middle but if your original outlet doesn’t have the hole to screw it into, you are left with just pressing it in, which means every time you unplug something, the whole outlet can come out. Would be nice to have a way to attach it in another way.

It may be a good multi-outlet power source with a built-in circuit breaker, but will not protect against surges (and says so on the box).
