Easy to program. Has book to teach you how to change cooking times for fast bake / broil features. Mic. wattage seems less powerfull than the posted 900W. Auto-cook features work great.
Drawback would be stainless steel requres a little more detail in cleaning. Exhaust fan WAY too loud / strong on high.

Not a bad unit at all

I have to start by saying we got the unit for a great price out of the box and used reward points towards it as well. With that said, the unit works very well. No you can't set the timer in less than 5 sec increments but who really cooks in anything else? I'm still trying different settings out so I can't speak to everything but I cooked a butterflied turkey -half in my new convection oven and the other half in my regular oven and the convection was awesome!! Bad note...the instruction manual said the unit came ready to vent up and out of the ceiling (house) which is how we wanted and how we installed it never thinking to double check it...low and behold it wasn't and now we have to take it down and reverse the blower/fan motor.

Overall this a very good microwave. We have not been using the convection feature too much. The controls require some extra manipulation to do basic things, such as: You must choose time-cook, twist the dial for time, press the button to select the time, then hit start. Not hard, just extra steps.
Ours seems to have a hard time completely closing, you have to push the door pretty forcefully to get it closed to enable cooking.
Overall, very pleased.

I have had this GE Profile Convection Microwave for over five years and LOVE it. It's never had any problems, never needed service, and it actually bakes cookies, pies, cobblers, cakes, and cooks chicken, stuffed mushrooms, casseroles and more to perfection. The two racks for baking are large enough to hold baking sheets for cookies or galettes. I am buying the exact same model in stainless - along with the newest wavetouch slide-in GE Profile Convection Oven (double ovens) - and can't imagine using any other appliances. I'm sorry I didn't take the opportunity of sharing this before.

This is overall a good microwave with some great features. It's got convection baking (this is the feature that made me buy this microwave). the only downside is that it's a bit difficult for typical microwave users to get used to this but onceyou get used to this this is just really cool and also users who choose to recycle the air have to buy the charcol filter by themselves ( I guess this should be added as part of the package)

Buyer Beware

If I could give it a negative star, I would. We purchased GE because we felt that the brand was superior to others and would last. Unfortunately, this microwave only lasted 2 years and 2 months. Up to that point, it was okay, nothing to brag about. The convection oven took quite awhile to heat up and the knob was not ideal. We notified GE and the response we received was that we had to pay someone, $90, to come out and diagnose the microwave. When the gentleman came, he informed us that in order to fix it, it would cost approximately half of what we paid for the microwave. GE does not support the product that they sell and therefore, we have to give it a poor rating. Buyer Beware

Good oven for cooking a meal. But not so for short warm ups or reheats. You have to keep pushing the micro cook button to gain 30 seconds at a time. I wish it had buttons with numbers to add more time.

I purchased my first GE Profil convection microwave in my new house in MI. After I sold the home and left the oven, I had to buy my second for the new home in VA. I highly recommend this oven to all my friends.

This microwave/convection oven is part of my kitchen renovation project. The unit arrived at the date promised, and the box the unit was housed in looked to be in good shape. The unit sat in the box for several months until I had completed the renovation in the area the unit was to be placed in. Upon taking the unit out of the box, I noticed damage to the back side of the unit that could have happened only prior to the unit being placed in the box. Unfortunately I used a razor to open up the side of the box, so if I had asked for a replacement, I probably would have been turned down, since, at that point, it would have been impossible to tell how the damage had occurred. Luckily, when testing prior to hanging on the wall, the unit appears to work fine.
This is the second problem I've had with the appliances bought through Best Buy. The first was a Professional Series Fridgidaire 36" range that sat idle for nearly a year, waiting for its place after renovation was complete. That unit worked fine for the first few months, just long enough to get past the warranty, and then the wiring for the ignition died. $300 and something later it seems to be fine. Glad I bought the hood for that unit elsewhere.
I will only buy from Best Buy again when I take the item out of its packaging and scrutinize every last inch. No more delivery.

I've owned this item for only a few weeks. So far it works perfectly but I've only used it to zap frozen entrees and boil water. The vent and surface light work well also.

Good for Warming bad for Convection

This is a very strong microwave when it comes to microwaving, but the convection oven/fast cook has a lot to be desired. It takes a tremendous long time to heat up. So much so, that on smaller dishes, it is actually just as fast in the conventional oven.
