    Purchased in Aug of 2018..April of 2019 sparking occurs. Called GE, you will love this... The WaveGuide Cover needs to be replaced. Scheduled a service call. booked it.. they canceled it with an email that went into my junk email. GE will not repair this part. I asked for the part myself. They do not provide it. Keep in mind it is the little square cover made of MICA by the interior light of most microwaves. It literally slides off and on. Their directions are as follows: 1) Send them a copy of the model and serial and proof of original prof of purchase 2) Wait 5 to 7 days for a warranty request form 3) Once received buy a replacement GE microwave 4) Send proof of new GE only purchase 5) wait 4 to 6 weeks to get original purchase refunded by check side note: the built in "Opt" trim kit is NOT included in the reimbursement as it was optional. Trim kit = 230.00 So this means buy the same model or run the risk of buying a a different GE model with a trim kit that does not fit. I am done with GE. a 350 dollar microwave dead in 8 months and I have to shell out 350 bucks and wait 2 months to get my money back.

    Broke After 1 Month!

    I replaced a GE Microwave that was about 18 months old and beyond warranty. The Magnetron tube broke ( Creates the Microwaves.) In any case I bought a new one and this one had the same issue after 1 month. GE Finally agreed to ship me a new one as they refused to send over a repair person and cancelled the appointment unilaterally after booking a time. It took a lot of push on my part to get them to agree to ship a new one. Note the Warranty does not cover repair but only replacement as GE described it as "more cost effective" - not for the client but for GE as I pointed out! Hopefully the new one will be fine. #4 in 10 years though! Order placement and shipment was easy through Best Buy but GE ruined the experience!

    I bought this as part of a kitchen remodel along with the Cafe Appliances fridge, slide-in range and dishwasher in Black Slate. I absolutely hate stainless steel appliances so was really happy to find this color and finish - more sophisticated than standard shiny black. The micro works fine - it's quiet, sensor cook function worked as expected for two baked potatoes last night. The interior is much roomier (taller) than I had expected, so that's a bonus. The only thing I am not thrilled with is the moderately cheap feel of the push-in door handle - get the feeling that it is going to be the first thing to fail...

    Microwave replacement

    Our microwave of 15 years died so we had to replace it and the trim kit for the space provided in our kitchen. Although it was suppose to be the same size the trim kit and the microwave was slightly larger. We ended up hiring a cabinet maker to adjust all. We had to shave off some of the plastic on the trim kit that you could not see so the microwave door could open up all the way.

    We don’t cook much at home except for things we can put in the Microwave. Have had GE in past so knew it was a quality product. We needed a larger unit so this was a great size. Works well and looks great. Only wish that it had a pull door rather than the push button to open. Apparently the only units that have the pull open are those that are over the range with exhaust and light.

    I purchased the total line of GE appliances in black slate for a kitchen remodel. The ordering process and delivery was smooth and simple. Better service than I have received working on similar purchases. The color is great. I love that the microwave has a mute feature for the keypad. Exactly what I hoped. Can't wait to get the rest of the items installed and working.

    Our old GE microwave died and we liked the 16” turntable and the ability to warm large casseroles. This new one has fewer automatic settings and is less programmable. The documentation/instructions are minimal. It works fine but I miss the rice settings, the ability to modify fresh vegetable times and other features.

    Our built in microwave of 15 years died so we had to replace it. Had a little trouble with the trim kit and space provided so had to shave off some plastic. It went unnoticed and is behind the trim kit. I think this microwave is slightly larger than the previous one.

    The microwave works great! I have only had it for a few months, the reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is that I am used to my old microwave which had settings like; frozen veggies, defrost chicken. S defrost beef or bread. This microwave does not get that specific.

    Our built in microwave of 15 year broke and we got this new replacement. It was the only one that would fit the space. The inside plastic left side of the trim kit had to be cut out so the door would open without rubbing the side. It definitely has a manufacture flaw in sizing but we forced it to work.

    Our 9 year old GE built-in that the builder gave us in our new home broke down and we wanted to use the existing trim. Did some research and with a slight modification, this one worked! Looks great and we saved a ton of money not having to buy a new trim.

    Only issue I have is the key pad is not back lit and does not stand out well in lower ambient light. We had the same microwave prior to this updated version and didn’t have this issue. I do like that it’s quieter than the previous one.

    I would not recommend this particular microwave. I have had this one for less than a year before it started burning electrical inside the unit. I have never had a microwave last for such a short period of time.

    Good microwave. But, I was trying to buy a unit that would install with a trim kit I already had. Not possible. GE makes minor changes each year to force you to buy another kit for a couple of hundred dollars.

    Microwave looks nice in cabinets. The trim kit didn’t look as nice as old one so we used the brackets to new one & used exterior of old one. Good fit and good opurtunity to recycle.
