I never understood why a cooktop is more expensive than a full range but on deciding to upgrade I can't blame GE on the price point. With that out of the way, I really like this cooktop. My previous one, was also GE convertible down draft and it was a mess to clean not so with this one. No grime under burners, easy to wipe off and keep clean. Very solid burners and the middle one gets the stuff done in a hurry. But by far the most amazing feature is child lock. When engaged it shows that it is engaged and if the child twists the burners it makes very loud noise but it won't turn on the gas and light up, making it one of the most child proof cooktops that I've seen.

Perfect fit to my kitchen remodel!! Replaced my old 4 burner range with this model and we couldn't be happier

Renovating a older home that had a 4 burner GE gas cook top. Buyers today expect at least a 5 burner cook top...

I have this cook top in white, but I also wrote this review for the stainless steel. Grates on this product are set so high that when you try to bring water to a second boil after adding ingredients (even on the power boil) it takes a long time. It is a definite design flaw. When I phoned GE they said the product is working so there is no buyers' remorse and I could sell the product and buy a new one. They also told me to start cooking on the main burner and switch pots around - so now I'm playing musical pots. My daughter-in-law and husband have also complained about this product. GE has a buyers' beware policy, so you won't get cooperation from them. If I could have given them NO stars, I would have, but if you want a product that looks pretty, but doesn't work, this is for you.
