I don’t usually write reviews, but when something this good comes along, I can’t help myself. The GE Opal 1.0 Nugget Ice Maker is, hands down, one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. From the sleek black finish that looks way better than any ice machine has a right to, to the fact that it makes THE BEST nugget ice (you know the kind, soft, chewable, perfect for crunching), this machine is pure magic. First off, setup was a breeze. I thought there’d be a complicated manual or something, but nope—plug it in, fill up the side tank, and within minutes, you’ve got a refreshing, icy treat ready to go. It’s that easy. The side tank makes all the difference, too. No more constant refills, and the ice keeps coming consistently. You’ll never run out of that sweet nugget ice! Now, let’s talk about the speed. It’s surprisingly quick—15–20 minutes and boom, ice. And don’t even get me started on how quiet it is compared to other machines. You’re not waking up the whole house when you grab a cup of ice in the middle of the night. I’ve used it for everything from iced coffee (the best iced coffee ever, seriously) to cocktails, sodas, or just straight-up snacking on ice like it’s candy. I even caught my 12-year-old Raelynn sneaking ice out of it, and she’s picky, so that says something. Honestly, if you’re debating this, stop. Just pull the trigger. Nice machine…it is big so make sure you have plenty of counter top space..needs is own section..makes good ice, basket stays when the machine cycles correctly, a few quirky things mine will say add water when it is full so I have to add water in inside under basket..for price the operation should be a little smoother..

I had to replace an ice machine (different brand) so I chose this one. It is absolutely amazing. Works so much better than the other brand I had. I love the side tank and how easy it is to clean. The ice is so much softer as well. I would give it ten stars if I could.

Works great! Has the side tank, which needs to be filled up about every 5-7 days. It continuously keeps ice and we use a lot. Great purchase!

What a wonderful mini ice machine we added to our home. It is quiet, always full and quick to replace ice. It is also sleek and classy and just Gorgeous! This appliance looks like an art piece and is always the talk when these tiny little soft and crunchy pieces of ice pop into refreshments and cocktails.

I am surprised by this ice machine. It has held up longer and the opal 2.0. I would recommend this one more than the upgraded one. I’ve had nothing much trouble with the upgraded one. Yes, I must buy. You will not regret it. Just do it already. You know you want to.

Best purchase I have made ! This makes ice within 10 mins after plugging it in . The ice is better than Sonic’s ice my kids and wife told me . My Samsung fridges ice maker died and this was a great replacement .

The GE Profile Ice machine has made a wonderful addition to our home. We love how quick it makes the yummy chewable ice! Definitely recommend it!

This thing is amazing and makes ice all day, it’s like everyone favorite hospital ice, best gift I ever got my wife, her words not mine.

I have always enjoyed crunching on Sonic, or Wawa, "nugget" ice. When my ice maker went out in the fridge, I picked up this Ice maker as opposed to buying a whole new fridge. We love it. The kids got a kick out of the ice scoop. The only draw back is that with everyone pulling from the ice bucket, we some times have to fill the reservoir once a day.

Amazing it works as designed or better Make sure you follow directions and everything will work flawlessly

Great device wish it was a little quicker at making the first batch of the day. Takes about 2 hours to make a full basket other than that love it if it wasn't for the amount of time it takes to create ice I would give 5 stars

This is everything and more! Loving everyone's reaction to having the "good ice". Works exactly as described. We always store some in the freezer and leave a full basket so we never run out. Just make sure to keep up on the cleaning cycles!
