    Real smoked flavor indoors!

While I am not new to smoking, this is the first smoker I have ever used. I previously smoked using my propane BBQ which requires constant attention to make sure the temperature stays where you want it to be. I have seen other smokers though and am familiar with how they work. The main drawback of the GE indoor smoker is the small size compared to outdoor smokers. That being said, being a unit that can be used indoors gives it so many advantages over other smokers, especially in northern climates like where I live. Now I can smoke year round, rain or shine, even if it's freezing outside! In my opinion, this more than makes up for the limited capacity. I've made 2 things with this smoker so far, here is my experience: 1. A recipe from the recipe book that comes with the unit for S'mores. This was a disaster, it almost seems like no one actually tried this recipe before publishing it. First, it says to use a temperature of 140 F - the unit does not allow you to go this low, the lowest temp is 170 F, so this is what I started with. The estimated time for the marshmallows to slightly brown is given as 6-8 minutes in the recipe - it ended up actually taking almost an hour and I raised the temp to 240 F after about 15 minutes. The marshmallows did finally brown slightly, but after so long in the smoker, both marshmallows and chocolate had been completely dried out. So instead of gooey, melty s'mores, we had some hard crunchy things that tasted like cardboard. If I were to try this again, I would use the max temperature (300F) and hope the marshmallows browned and got gooey instead of drying out. I am only knocking off 1 star for this because I'm mainly concerned about how this unit performs with meat which is what we'll talk about next. 2. Pork Back ribs. Here I used the rub recipe from the included recipe book, but I did a 3-2-0.5 smoke on them - that is 3 hours level 5 smoking unwrapped at 225F, then 2 hours just cooking (no smoke) wrapped in foil with some butter and brown sugar added, and then 1/2 hour cooking unwrapped after brushing my favorite BBQ sauce just to caramelize. These ribs were just awesome! Great bark, just shy of fall of the bone tender, nice smoky flavor, all the fat was rendered nicely, better than most ribs I've had in any restaurant - couldn't be happier with the result! Some other notes, GE claims 3 full racks of ribs can fit in this unit - this is probably only true if your rack are on the small side. 2 racks would comfortably fit however. Smart HQ app is nice to use and seems to provide full control over the unit remotely, so you can control your cook even if you're not at home. One other big advantage of this unit is that pellet usage is quite low compared to conventional smokers, so far I have done about 4 hours of smoking and still haven't completely used the 1 lb pellet bag that came with the unit. Clean up is also pretty easy, the internal racks are dishwasher safe and the inside can be wiped down with warm soapy water for cleanup. The water from pellet waste bin can be strained, and the bin it self just needs a rinse after emptying. Overall, I think I will be using this unit a fair bit and I am very happy with the performance. It is a bit pricey, but being able to smoke whenever you feel like it, makes it worth it!

This has been a bit of a joke, spent about an hour and a half on phone with support to only end up frustrated at the lack of understanding. The first pick is a bad omen for what was to come the box was completely damaged along with the foam and it was not returnable. I live an hour and half from nearest Best Buy. After reviewing the damage I found that it seemed to be only cosmetic so I decided to quit trying to call. I have used a fire times and it works well just not sure if it will quit working. I like the way it cooks and if you can buy one in store and take home I would recommend it but do not ship this.

The GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker (AKA Arden indoor pellet smoker) is the appliance I never knew I needed. I have always been intrigued by cooking with smoke and have acquired several “smokers” including a pressure smoker but have never used any of them - until this one. The smoker is well packaged and protected. There is lots of tape and packing materials to remove. Once unpacked, a quick trip to the wash for the parts and wipe down for the interior. Setup of the racks is easy, the sides snap in place and the three racks just slide in along with the drip tray in the bottom slot. The unit does fit on my counter top but know it is pretty bulky so if you have a smaller kitchen, you might want to have another place to put it. Unfortunately, it's not very portable but it is easy to move. Now it's time to try it out. A one pound bag of Hickory pellets is included in the box so you can get started immediately. I was able to find various flavors of pellets at my local discount store as well as a big box lumber store. The smoker has pre-sets for the most popular products but each can be customized to your liking. There is also a custom option to set your own. There is the GE app which was great. It keeps you informed of the probe temp, all the settings and allows you to change settings mid-stream if needed. Simply fill the pellet hopper with food-grade wood pellets, fill the waste chamber with water, select your product or program your own and press start. It really doesn't get any easier than this. My first attempt was a 3 pound piece of pork shoulder. I loosely followed the recipe in the included book as far as time and temps and made a few adjustments to the rub. Overall, it took about four hours and I have to say it was tasty but not my finest work. I expected the first time to be more of a learning experience but the final product did make a nice meal. A couple of things I learned from this - first, wrap the drip tray in foil for a much easier clean up! (I understand you can also purchase pre-formed disposable tray liners, but the foil worked just as well). Second, smoke is dirty and the interior will need to be cleaned after each use. The racks and side supports come clean in the dishwasher. A sponge with a touch of dish soap and hot water make the rest of the cleaning pretty easy. Third, this is not an appliance that you can make last minute meal decisions with - smoking takes time and lots of it. Just remember low and slow wins this race! My second attempt was much better. This time I used two larger pieces of the pork shoulder that had been marinating in Caribbean jerk and the other in Belizean style seasoning for a couple of days. These two pieces weighed about eight pounds total and fit on two racks. I was surprised that these two larger pieces seemed to cook faster than the first single smaller cut and the finished product as seen in the picture was incredible and just falling apart. This time it took about five hours to complete. One thing to note, this is an indoor smoker and other than opening the door during the smoking process, there was absolutely no smoke coming out of it. There is however, lots of smoke smell which I really like - think blazing fireplace on a cold winter day. A full hopper of pellets will last about four hours and is easily refilled during the process. Cleanup of the waste bin was as simple as dumping it out in the yard. Do not dump it down the drain as there are still solid pieces of pellets in it which the company says is normal. While the price is several times higher than most outdoor smokers and pellet grills, the convenience of not having to get up and potentially trudge through rain and snow to go outside to check on your food is a game changer. From chicken, ribs and pork to spices and fruits, I am excited and looking forward to trying new foods in the GE Smart Indoor Smoker and highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in cooking with smoke!

    A new way to smoke

With indoor smokers I have always been skeptical... I imagine that whichever room you place the smoker will still look and smell smokey. I'm happy to say that I was partially right, but mostly wrong. First, this thing is heavy. I think the package weighed about 55 lbs. I felt bad for the delivery person, and even worse for myself as I lugged this thing into my kitchen. The box shows that this should be a two person job, but I was by my lonesome, so onward I marched. Once I got the smoker out of the box and onto my counter, I began removing tape, and more tape. Out of the box you get three grill dividers/sections?, two side mounting brackets for said grill dividers, a temp needle, a small scrub brush, a base pan, some starter wood pellets, and some inserts and a smoking guide. I handwashed the mounting brackets and dividers before using because food safety. Set up is extremely easy. You set up the side mounting brackets on the side of the smoke chamber, and that's it... and plug it in of course. Fill the auger with the wood pellet. I decided to fill it to the brim to get maximum smoke flavor. I then filled the water container to the min level because I was afraid of it overflowing. Once you have prepared whatever you want to smoke, place it in the chamber. The instructions said to run the auger before its maiden run, so that I did. Using it is easy thanks to presets. I was making baby back ribs, and so I used the preset. You can still change settings manually from temp to time to smoke level, so you have setting control if you prefer. I wrapped the base pan with foil because I didn't want the base pan to get all gunked up. Once you get past the preheat portion, you set it and forget it. I sat there and watched it run for the first ten minutes to see how it worked. I began to get a little apprehensive when I didn't see any smoke, but around the 20 minute mark, I saw the chamber being filled with smoke. If for whatever reason you need to pause the smoking, you can clear the smoke so your area doesn't smell like smoke, or just open it and enjoy the aroma. The choice is yours. As I mentioned earlier, one of my fears was the kitchen smelling like smoke... While it ran, it did has a minor plastic melting smell. I'm guessing that's just how it smells like on its maiden run. I did smell smoke, but it was minor. I opened a window and that took care of it. I even opened the chamber without clearing the smoke, and still, not an issue. The best way to describe the smell of the smoke is like that of a campfire. Once I got past the 6 hours of waiting, I pulled out the ribs. The ribs were tender, smokey, and had that beautiful dark bark. I brushed some bbq sauce on it and ran it for another 30 minutes, and that was dinner. It works well, and I'm excited to try smoking every type of meat in my fridge/freezer. I am very impressed by the smoker. I have no negative thing to post except that I do wish it were bigger so I don't have to cut the meat into smaller portions to fit into the chamber... maybe with smoker 2.0...

The GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker is just amazing! I have used it for beef, chicken, fish, and vegetables. Each and every one of these have come out with a scrumptious smokey flavor and the meats stay juicy and cooked to perfection. This innovative technology has brought my cooking to the next level. Set-up is fairly easy, but it does take a while to read the manual and get connected so it is best to get started on that before planning on smoking to avoid delayed food. Once you download the SmartHQ app and sign in, the smoker can be connected to Wi-Fi. The SmartHQ app and Wi-Fi connection really make everything easier. The smoker will send alerts to the phone when food is almost done, when it’s done, and whenever the door is opened. Also, for other things, like when the smoker needs to have its water to be refreshed. As for the food, it comes out so mouthwateringly good! The smoke impregnates the meats deeply with smokey flavor and the thermometer allows it to finish cooking at the set temperature to keep the meats perfectly juicy. The settings allow you to set cooking temp, smokiness level, and toggle between probe temp or time length. It also comes for presets for specific foods like brisket, chicken, pork, and fish. Cleaning is super easy to do once done. The racks, rack holder, and drip tray remove for easy washing and the interior wipes aways with little effort. It is evident that this smoker was made with safety in mind. There is a button that will clear the smoke in the machine before it is opened to prevent smoke from getting into the house. It takes about 10 minutes to fully evacuate the smoke. I have a very sensitive smoke alarm quite close to where I placed my smoker, and it has not once gone off in all the times I have used it. I recommend this machine to anyone looking for a smoker that is easily accessible indoors at all times, rain or shine. There is no doubt that this machine will get lots of love and use in my house considering just how good the food comes out with it.

If you like ash on your food….

No matter how well you clean the vent after a few hours of smoking the auger spits out ash all over your food. I was two days past the return window so Best Buy isn’t honoring the return despite having a paid membership with them. Also, it’s not really indoor. I had to keep it in the garage because it would make my house overwhelmingly smell like burning wood. GE customer care told me to clean take the vent apart, clean it with a wire brush while I was cooking. So, stop a brisket halfway, clean and throw the brisket back in. Seriously. For the ease of use, not that easy. If you use the temp setting, meaning you want the meat to cook at a certain temperature, the machine starts to clear smoke and turn off if you take the prong out and it registers the set temperature. For example, let’s say you set the brisket to 200. When you take the prong out to wrap the brisket, the prong registers +200 degrees because it picks up the ambient temp of the smoker. The smoker then starts clearing the smoke and going into “keep warm” mode. You will then have to restart the entire process all over again.

Though I can BBQ fine enough here in TX, I've never actually used a smoker before. Main reason is due to time and quite simply, space. The GE Smart Indoor Smoker is great for anyone that has certain limitations on their situation. Great for apartments, city living and those stubborn HOAs that won't allow a bigger one on property. The box was a hefty 55 lbs. Inside was the smoker itself with dimensions of 16.5" x 16.25 x 20.5 deep, instructions manual, recipe book, a 1lb bag of "premium" pellets, wire racks that need assembly and the temperature probe. Setting it up after making space for it in the kitchen was rather simple. There is a ton of tape and carboard protecting it so make sure it all comes off. Make sure before actual use for the 1st time only, you prime the auger. It's a 1 1/2min process and really easy. You load your choice of pellets (in my case hickory) into the hopper and choose the "auger" setting in the menu. Then make sure the waste bin has water in it and you are all set. The performance for being an indoor smoker is excellent. While smoking and cooking foods, I can smell the aroma of the meats but absolutely no smoke whatsoever to be seen. My 1st trial was making a dry rub brisket with my friend. After preparing the meat and using 3 trays we set it to the brisket setting and changed the temp and time. Fair warning, I would NOT use the factory presets of the cooker for any food you are making. For example, it wanted to cook my brisket @ 245 at 12 hours. That is way too long and had I let it go, I probably would have beef jerky instead. Even the recipe book included said to do 235 @ 8 hours, but I ended up doing it for 220 for 6 1/2 and it came out great. The included temperature probe is amazing for keeping track of the internal temps. Now the smoker is smart and will learn and adjust the presets the more you use it so it'll be even easier for you to use. So far personally, I have made 2 briskets, 1 rack of pork ribs and some chicken. I would say after learning to tweak it to my preferences everything gets a solid 8-9 / 10. Flavor is wonderful and family approved. I'd definitely recommend downloading and using the app. Setting up the smoker to your wifi is simple and once connected, you can literally watch and cook your food without even going near it. Display shows temp (if connected), time, your smoke level, etc. It was really convenient for me to not constantly get up and check the status. The GE Indoor Smoker is the real deal and I would highly recommend it. If you are an apartment dweller or simply lack space and want to smoke meats, this is a no brainer. I have used it multiple times and have even more plans for other foods to try.

Never smoked a thing in my life. Had a chance to try the GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker and decided to give it a try. I like that it’s indoor, has a digital temperature control, an automatic pellet feeder, and can also be monitored via a smart phone app. Setting the smoker up was relatively easy. Put the hardware in, pour in the pellets, use the Settings app to prime the auger, put some water in the waste bin, and get started. I started off with pork chops. Put a nice rub on them, smoked them on level three for an hour, and then seared them quickly on the stovetop. The GE left a nice smoke ring around the meat, the chop tasted great, and I could definitely taste the smoked flavoring (I used the pellets that came with the smoker). Since that went so well, I decided to try out something much more difficult: Brisket. I’ve heard that brisket can be tough to get right. It can come out like shoe leather if it isn’t done right. I bought a bag of Hickory pellets and put them in the smoker. I used the rub recipe suggested in the included recipe book that came with the smoker, and followed the recipe to the T. Using the digital control and the temperature probe on the smoker, I smoked the 2.5 pound brisket using the highest smoke setting, at 235 degrees until the internal temp was 180 degrees. I then pulled it out, poured a glaze on it, wrapped it up in foil, and put it back in the smoker with no smoke until the brisket hit 200 degrees. I let it rest for 30 minutes and then sliced it up. It was absolutely fantastic. The pictures are below. A lot to like about the GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker. It is easy to use, easy to clean, and opens up a whole new world of cooking for my family. Next up, baby back ribs!

Indoor product with no outdoor mess

This is the first smoker I have ever owned. My neighbor has had one for years and I have been able to reap some of the benefit though. Some of the bigger name smokers our there are great but they require a lot of space to be used outside and end up generating (although a great final product) a fair bit of a mess. This smoker does give off a great outdoorsy smell inside the home but does not require any of the initial set up or prep. When I first opened this item I was very surprised with how user friendly the smoker was. The interface is that of a microwave or something similar. The dials and provided instructions are all very easy to comprehend too. For my initial test run I used a rack of ribs. I seasoned with a dry rub, set the dials to the desired temp and began the preheating process. Once I knew the internal temp of the smoker was where I wanted it, I put my ribs in and let the process begin. 6 hours later I was able to eat a very flavorful rack of ribs with my family. Clean up is a breeze too as the internal pellet bin is easy to empty and clean. The drip pan has been a bit of a challenge to get clean but aside from that its been a very good experience. This smoker is also able to connect to a smart app which can then control time, temp, etc. This was a nice touch as It aligns with my other GE appliances. All in all, If you are looking for a smoker that can be used by a novice or expert inside the home then I would highly recommend this unit as it was easy to get up and running and has since been providing top notch meats for my family!

First thing is the unit is larger than you think. You definitely need substantial counterspace if you want to put in on the countertop. This thing is absolutely amazing (see pictures). I immediately made chicken wings and they were incredible. There is a faint smoke smell directly near the unit when cooking but its not a big deal at all. There are some reviews noting there’s no smoke taste to which I think these persons either didnt prime the auger, didnt cook long enough, or do not know how smoke tastes but associates it with that charcoal/propane taste which this doesnt have at all. The only obvious con is price. At $1000, this is not worth it due to its small capacity. At $700 which is what I paid, its competive with the cheapest Traeger 575 which is $799. Clearly, this is not a Traeger but is more convenient, easier to use, easier to clean, and can be used indoors. If you want smoked food but not the hassle of setting up a grill or dont have adequate outdoor space for a grill, this is pretty much your only option. If you are cross shopping the Ninja Woodfire, don’t even bother. This is in a different league than the Ninja Woodfire which actually doesnt add any smoke flavor at all.

Indoor Smoker That Is True To Its Name

The new GE Smart Indoor smoker is as the name says; a way to bring the cooking of smoked, BBQ taste inside your home. The smoker was very easy to setup and took about 15 minutes before I was able to start using it. It was simple; set up the food racks inside of it, add water in the container that catches the used pellets, and add pellets to the hopper container. After this, a setting needs to be chosen in the menu to prime the auger (adding pellets from the hopper to burn) and takes about a minute and a half. Then, the smoker can be pre-heated to start the cooking process. This takes about 10 minutes itself and then the food can be placed inside the smoker. In total, not including setting it up for the first time, it takes about 15 minutes before the food can start being smoked. Additionally, you can use mostly any wood pellets except for fuel or softwood pellets such as pine pellets. I used the included sample Kona pellets and the results were amazing (as later mentioned). The smoker itself isn't large and can be placed on a kitchen counter. To have an idea of how much food can fit inside of the smoker, there are 3 racks that can be added all at one time and each can hold about 10 regular sized wings (in total 30 wings). I only wished it was a tad bit bigger to be able to fit more food! As more space is taken inside of the smoker, it does take longer for food to cook, though. The smoker has six preset modes you can choose from (wings, chicken, salmon, brisket, pork ribs, and pork butt) depending on the type of food or meat you'd like to smoke, and also has the option to set a custom time and go based off of the temperature probe included with the smoker. The level of smoke was also able to be adjusted. If you want a lighter smokey flavor, you are able to set a lower smoke level and vice versa. For my wings, I set them to the recommended level, 3, and then changed it to 4 for the last 30 minutes of smoking them. When the smoking time is done, the smoker goes into an auto warm function to keep your food warm as well. After using it to smoke wings, there are a few things I noticed. The biggest observation I had was that it did create a large aroma and filled my home with the smell of smoke. Although it does keep actual smoke inside of the smoker, the aroma of it passes through. I strongly recommend putting it near a window or fan due to the heat and smoke smell emitted from the bottom vent. The second thing I noticed was that if you would like to open the door of the smoker, you would first need to start a feature in the smoker to remove the smoke from the inside. This process takes about 10 minutes and alerts you when you can open the door. I needed to open the door to flip my seasoned wings over and after putting them back in, was able to pick up the smoking process from where it left off. Like I mentioned before, the smoker filled my home with the wood smoke smell and each time I couldn't wait to try my food. My wings came out fantastic! I know that the taste is subjective and based on how you season your food but the wings did in fact have a flavorful, smokey taste. Trying my seasoned wings in an oven, grill, and now the indoor smoker, it definitely tasted better with the indoor smoker. They also came out crispy and everyone that tried them and other foods that came out of the smoker loved it. Some of the other things I loved about the smoker (other than it smoking my food!) were the smart features it had. I was able to connect it to my home WiFi via the SmartHQ app and it sent me notifications based on the status and alerts I was waiting for. If you start preheating your smoker, a notification will be sent once it's done preheating. When I set the function to remove the smoke inside the smoker to open the door, the app also alerted me when it was ready to go ahead and open the door. Having tried other products in the past to help with outdoor cooking, this by far makes it easy to make grill-worthy food. The longest part of using it (other than waiting for your food to be ready to eat!) is the cleanup. Taking apart the racks and side pieces to setup the racks is quick (and they are also able to be washed in the dishwasher), but I do recommend using a good degreaser to wipe off the grease from the racks and especially the drip pan. As far as the inside of the smoker, I sprayed a Scott’s blue towel with degreaser and was able to wipe off and clean most of the grease. Overall, this indoor smoker is very nice and ideal for those that will only be cooking for a smaller group of people (don't recommend for parties or gatherings) as it is not able to smoke a lot of food at once. While it does keep smoke inside of the smoker, the smell can become too much, and again, recommend putting it near a window.

This GE Profile smart Indoor smoker is pretty amazing to say the least. I was pleased at how sleek it looks once I got it unboxed and on the counter. There are some vertical racks that have to be installed and then you are good to go. They just kind of snap into place. Not hard but definitely read the instructions that come with it. There is also a Recipe book that comes with the unit too. Has lots of good information inside. Also one bag of wood pellets to get you started. I decided for the first smoke that I would do a rack of ribs as that is what I had handy. I prepared my ribs with a dry rub and allowed the smoker to preheat. The preheat process seemed to take about 20 minutes. I set the unit to the pre-programmed setting for pork ribs. 235* for 6 hours and a smoke level of 5. I prepped the auger with wood chips prior to preheating the smoker which allows the wood chips to become fully seated into place for smoking. (This step is in the instruction booklet). A full rack of ribs will not fit on the shelf/rack so I had to cut it in half, then it was not an issue. During the smoking process there was zero smoke coming out of the vent in the front, the house smelled great. But there was quite a bit of heat which did heat up the kitchen a bit. As this is designed to be on your counter top, i'm not sure it was designed to actually be under a cabinet as I have mine. The reason I say this is the cabinet above also heated up and the door knobs got a little hot and inside the cabinet had some heat too. So if you are forced to place this under a cabinet then make sure there is nothing thats going to get ruined by the heat this produces. Luckily the cabinet above the smoker was just glassware and plates ect. I certainly wouldn't use this smoker under a cabinet that has any chocolate ect...haha don't want that to melt. Its not going to get hot enough to start a fire so there is no worry there but just be cautious about where you place this smoker. The control knob and the interface are easy to use and understand. again read the instructions. Also there is a bit of a hummmm from the auger turning the wood chips but it is pretty quiet. Overall I will give this 4 out of 5 stars simply because of the way it heats up the cabinet above the smoker. The ribs came out darn near perfect, they had a nice crust on the outside with a smoke ring on the inside and the meat was super moist and fell off the bone. Also the smoker was easy to clean, the racks and drip pan went into the dishwasher and the inside was wiped out with a wash cloth and some soapy water.

I’ve always wanted a smoker, but worried about where to set it up especially in the winter when we get lots of snow, the GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker solves that problem. I have used it in an extra room, as you do get some of the smell of the smoke and depending on what you’re cooking you may need to open the door so I’d recommend somewhere close off at least a little to control the smoke and smell. I would say a closed kitchen or even one with a fan in case you need it will be good. For me, even in that small room its never been so smokey you couldn’t go in except one time when the breaker went off. Important reminder to plug this into the wall directly, because if you’re smoking and power shuts off the smoke does go out. Besides the fact that you can smoke indoors, how else does it work? For me its been an overall great experience and the food has been amazing. Setup is simple as you unbox it and take off the tape, then add water and pellets and you’re ready to go. The app and preset options are great especially being able to monitor the temperature of your food when you’re using the probe. The one issue I’ve had with the app is not being able to change the temperature from it, as it sends it to the smoker but you have the physically press the button to start it. The food so far has tasted amazing, and you know when it’s done when you use the probe. Of course, a lot of this is from the pellets you get, so make sure you pick ones that work and ones that meet your taste needs. Only issue I had was the auto keep warm temp was too high for a beef roast I did, so it ended up a little overcooked as it hit the temp and stayed too warm. The one thing with the indoor smoker is the size is smaller than regular smokers that I’ve been. This is good because its easier to fit in an indoor space, but does limit what you can smoke, as for example I cannot smoke a whole turkey. While it is smaller than a regular smoker, its still a pretty large size and you need to have it 4 inches from the wall so you’ll need some space. For the size of the family, I have and food I make it works great, but something to note. I highly recommend this is you’re looking to get into smoking (or already are) but don’t have a great place to smoke outdoors.

For those who know me well, I’m a griller and BBQ enthusiast. I've always dreamt of enjoying the smoky goodness of smoked meats, fish and veggies year-round, without the limitations of the hot and often rainy Miami weather. The GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker is a game-changer that's revolutionized my indoor cooking routine. It’s a beautifully looking smoker; all black and more compact than I thought before I took it out of the big box. It measures a little over 16 inches high and 16 inches wide and fits perfectly under the hanging cabinets in my kitchen. The set-up is quick and easy and the smart features are done through the GE SmartHQ app. I owned other GE products that are connected to the Smart HQ app and adding the smoker was seamless. The built-in Wi-Fi connectivity allows me to monitor and control the smoker remotely through the GE SmartHQ app. From preheating to setting timers and adjusting temperatures, I can manage the entire smoking process from the comfort of my couch. This electric smoker uses wood pellets to generate authentic smoke, eliminating the need for charcoal or messy cleanup. It has a water tank to collect the pellets, a drip tray and the racks are dishwasher safe making the clean-up much easier. I own an outdoor smoker and I’ve noticed that I don’t need to use as many pellets with this one to get similar results. The five adjustable smoke settings and six preset food settings take the guesswork out of achieving great results consistently. Using this smoker has been a real joy; I’ve enjoyed it so much that I find excuses to cook for my family and friends. It comes with a recipe book that I have yet to try and also with pellets. I used maple or apple and cherry pellets for salmon, and hickory for beef and other meats. I have to say that the technology used in that electric smoker is impressive; the smoke distribution and the cooking results have yielded great results for me. I've smoked everything from brisket and pulled pork to salmon and vegetables, and each dish has been a mouthwatering masterpiece. My results are on par, if not better, with my outdoor smoker at less than half the size. And something I’ve noticed about this GE smoker is the absence of smoke and odors. GE claims it is the ‘First and Only indoor smoker with Active Smoke Filtering.’ This technological feature seems to neutralize smoke and odors. As expected, it gets quite hot around it when cooking. At first, I was nervous about the amount of heat under my kitchen cabinet but the heat dissipates quickly. With the removable drip pan and dishwasher-safe crates, cleanup is a breeze, and it is one main reason I much prefer to use it over my outdoor smoker. In my opinion, the GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker is a true innovation for indoor cooking enthusiasts or beginners. It's packed with smart features, delivers exceptional results, and is so easy to clean and keeps my house odorless. If you're looking to enjoy delicious smoked food year-round, without the hassles of traditional smokers, this is the appliance for you.
