We love this thing. It gets our clothes clean. It’s convenient and easy to use. I have the app so it alerts me when a load is ready to remove. With dogs in the house, we run the pet hair feature with every load. If you use the pet hair feature, don’t put any dry detergent or oxy in the drum with the clothes—use the dispenser drawer. The pet hair feature blows air through the clothes, sending pet hair and any loose dust or detergent powder through the lint filter. Our first load with oxy in the drum left all the oxy caked in and around the lint filter. Lesson was learned, instructions were read and followed, problem solved. We have yet to run every feature, but the ones we have used have worked well.

The GE Profile UltraFast Washer & Dryer Combo presents an innovative option for those seeking efficiency and convenience in their laundry routine. With its compact design and ventless heat pump technology, it certainly stands out as an ideal solution for small spaces or apartments where traditional units can't fit. However, while the concept is promising, there are a few aspects that potential buyers may want to consider before making a purchase.
Pros:
Space-Saving Design: One of the most significant advantages of this combo unit is its compact size. It offers the functionality of both a washer and dryer without occupying the footprint of a conventional dryer, making it perfect for tight living conditions.
Ventless Technology: The ventless feature is a game-changer for anyone who has struggled with installation limitations. Without requiring an external vent, this appliance can be placed anywhere there's a power source.
Low Power Requirements: Operating on just 120 volts or 15 amps makes this model very accessible for a wide range of homes, ensuring that it can be installed without extensive electrical modifications.
Adaptive SmartDispense Technology: This feature is particularly noteworthy as it automatically dispenses the right amount of detergent based on the load size. It simplifies the laundry process, ensuring optimal cleaning with minimal effort.
Cons:
Drying Efficiency: Unfortunately, the drying functionality of this combo leaves much to be desired. Despite the load size, it seems unlikely that clothes will emerge completely dry. This may require a second drying session or the use of an alternative drying method, which detracts from the unit's overall convenience.
Noise Level: Users should be prepared for a fair amount of noise during operation. While some level of sound is expected from any washer/dryer, this model could be disruptive in quieter homes or apartments.
Fragile Lint Collection Mechanism: The lint trap is essential for maintaining performance, yet its fragile construction could lead to issues. There are concerns about durability and the potential for it to break if not handled carefully, which could affect efficiency.
Weight: The appliance is considerably heavy, making relocation a daunting task. Once placed, it may be challenging to move it again without assistance, which is something to consider when choosing a laundry setup.
Conclusion:
Overall, the GE Profile UltraFast 4.8 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Smart Combo Electric Washer & Dryer is an intriguing option that balances space-saving design and innovative technology. However, it’s clear that there are several areas, particularly the drying capability and noise level, that need improvement. For those who can manage the limitations and appreciate the features it offers, it can serve as a functional addition to their home. For others, however, it might be worth waiting for subsequent versions where these issues are resolved. If you don't believe me after reading my review . . . do yourself a favor and go to the closest Best Buy Outlet near you and you'll find a large number of these appliances being sold there due to all of the consumers that have returned this washer/dryer combo for the same reasons that I have indicated above in my review.

Literally, the ONLY drawback is drying time.
Also, you don't vent the dryer lint to the outside and it runs on 110v. So, you can put it anywhere you have water access and drain. No lint hose. No 220v out necessary.

I love the large capacity and the fact that i dont have to be here to move laundry from the washer to the dryer! Just throw in a load before bed or before heading to work, and it’s clean and dry by the time i wake up or get home! The only issue i have with this is that when washing a bulky item such as bedding, it takes multiple drying cycles to get it dry.

I was a little worried about this because it's a big purchase and I've had read some reviews with concerns on the drying time and drying efficiency, but it's been great so far. I do laundry once or twice a week and not very large loads. You can't expect clothes will come out burning hot because it's whole different drying method but it definitely does the job. The machine is quiet and a medium load takes about 1:20-1:30 to wash and dry. Just pay attention to the maintenance it requires and should be goofld. I'm happy with my purchase.

This is the best investment ive made. Love it you can put in load and set and its done by and waiting in the morning or whenever you are ready. Ive washed 12 loads so far. It does take little getting use to when load is done you open the door the clothes feel like they are slightly damp but they are not. When you give a quick shake they are fine. This has to do with heat pump drying. Even though i have a dryer vent i love that fact i dont have to vent this unit. The laundry room doesnt get as hot. Also these units produce less lent.

I am not getting anything for this review. After a year, I am happy with the combo unit. Saturday delivery crew fast noobs but not professionals. I ordered the ped with combo. Best buy delivery flipped my washer upside down in street and put the ped on it. They then took the shipping bolts out before coming in the house. Stuff 14" of drain hose into drain guarranteeing it would not dry. Did not give me drain hook or covers. Required a separate trip to store. BB price matched so I saved $50 more. I had to moved over myself and level it. I bought a vacuum attachment for it and use electrical tape on the filter housing. I clean the lint filter every use. The foam filter about every 25 uses. I use two different brushes for coils. So more maintenance but I can fit a lot in the combo with no problems. Use ditty bags for delicates clothing. Definitely have manual handy for questions. More tham 4 people in house may not be a fit. Pet air cycle is nice. The combo works with goat milk laundry soap. I leave door, lint filter, and washer open when done.

I recently purchased the GE Profile UltraFast Washer/Dryer Combo with Ventless Heat Pump Technology in Carbon Graphite, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my purchase! This innovative appliance has transformed my laundry routine and deserves a solid 5-star rating.
The standout feature of this washer/dryer combo is the one-door convenience. Loading laundry has never been easier, and the seamless transition from washing to drying is a game-changer. No more waiting around for one cycle to finish before starting the other – it's all done in one go!
The built-in storage for soap and detergent is an absolute game-changer. No more guessing or measuring required. The machine knows just how much detergent to use, ensuring my clothes come out fresh and clean every time.
The Ventless Heat Pump Technology is a brilliant addition, as it not only saves energy but also means I can place this combo unit in more locations without worrying about ventilation. Plus, it's environmentally friendly!
In addition to its functionality, the Carbon Graphite design is sleek and modern, fitting seamlessly into my laundry room's aesthetics.
If you're looking for a washer/dryer combo that simplifies laundry, saves energy, and makes your life easier, the GE Profile UltraFast 4.8 cu ft Large Capacity All-in-One Washer/Dryer Combo is the way to go. I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a laundry upgrade.

Still amazed that one unit can both wash and dry. Definitely saves on space. The one drawback is that unlike with a separate washer and dryer, you cannot start a second load while the first is drying. Thus, laundry seems to take a bit longer, but overall we are happy with our purchase,

It's amazing. At less than the cost of a washer and a dryer, you get a modern, all in one, smart capable, ventless drying, high capacity machine.
While run times are much longer than you would normally expect, it really doesn't matter. Pop in a load before you leave for work and when you return, it's dry and ready.
Very quiet compared to our old machines. It does have a few moments in certain cycles that are a bit louder and when it's drying a low frequency hum can be heard. Not a bother for our setup, but something to be aware of. The clothes don't feel the same either. At first we thought they were still wet but no funky smell or wet film was found. Clothes smell fresh and clean, even without scent boosters or any dryer additives. Static also seems very low.

Overall the good outweighs the bad but there are definitely kinks that need to be worked out. It regularly needs to be drained and cleaned. I have a larger family and pets but about once a month we need to drain and unclog it. It also takes about 2.5-3 hours a load. The ease of throwing your load in and it being done the next time you open the door is a comfort I wouldn’t give up at this point though.

It is so nice to toss the bedding in there in the morning and have it warm and ready to go when the cycle is done. The dog hair feature is awesome to get dog hair off before the wash cycle. And the phone notifications are a great reminder to change out the loads.
It does seem to take a long time to dry. The ventless design does create a lot of extra lint in the lint holder. I find the lint filter cavity and door seal are always covered in hair and lint.

I love my Beast! It's huge and heavy, but now that it's in place, it's a Beauty. Works great, so convenient; love the energy efficiency of the heat pump technology and the delight of having only one machine to wash and dry. Also, my clothes don't seem to get static-clingy; no need for fabric softener. I use detergent sheets, which work great.

Very Happy with this unit. We have run 10 loads through this machine so far. Mostly normal, 1 bulky bedding, 1 towels and the rest normal loads. For all of these loads I believe the machine performed very well. All loads have taken from about 2 hours to 2 hours 45 minutes. The only items we have had to extend drying time a little were when we had Jeans in the load. I would highly recommend this unit for anyone. Love the App and the notifications received. Also, the Smart Dispense seems to work very well and it is great not to have to measure out detergent and softener every load.

Wrinkles Steal the Scene

There are MANY 4-5 star reviews, and understandably so - there is lots to love about this machine. However, I rate it 3 stars and sadly chose to return it primarily because of DRYING and WRINKLING. I’ll explain why, and you can decide for yourself whether the pros outweigh the cons.
CONVENIENT - No question, there are enough great reviews about how convenient this unit is. I love having a dryer that automatically takes over after the wash cycle completes.
CONNECTIVITY - I don’t connect my appliances to WiFi and thankfully, this washer does not require WiFi unless you want to download different wash programs. The buult-in programs are plentiful.
CYCLE SPEEDS & CLEANING PERFORMANCE - I coupled these because a medium sized “Normal soil” load will take about 2 hours and 20 minutes start to finish, close to advertised. However, it’s very important to note that the Normal soil setting washes well enough only for slightly dirty clothes. After having washed dozens of loads in this machine, bedding, towels, and anything that is slightly above moderately soiled such as stains of any kind, construction work clothes, and dingy whites absolutely require the “Extra heavy” soil setting and often the pre-wash setting as well. Otherwise, the clothes and stains simply will not be cleaned well enough to your satisfaction. This is to be expected, but be aware that this dramatically increases the cycle times (+ 45-60 mins.).
DRYING - As many other reviews have stated, the dry times are VERY long. Especially for heavy items- they do not come out fully dry (Towels, Denim, Bedding, Hoodies). Though, light-weight clothing such as T-Shirts, undergarments, and workout gear dry just fine and in less time. Yes, shaking them out or laying/hanging as GE support have suggested does help to dry the remaining dampness over time, but my expectation and requirement is for the unit to dry to completion on its own. This dryer falls short for the items listed above.
WRINKLING - This is by far the oddest and most dissapointing thing about this unit. With a traditional vented tumble dryer, if you remove your clothes right away, they won’t be wrinkled and you can avoid ironing most articles. However, with this unit, clothes AWLAYS come out very wrinkled no matter how quickly you remove them. The Wrinkle Care option makes no difference. Perhaps a side effect to the ventless heat pump? I don’t know why it is, but expect to iron more often with this unit.

Machine is great. Installers were amazing!! The machine is so convenient for a small family. It’s longer to do a load because you have to wait for the entire wash and dry cycle before you can start another load. But for me, I only do one load of laundry once a week so this is perfect. I do not have to switch the laundry back-and-forth. Everything is clean and neat and high-tech. I can start the laundry cycle from upstairs on my phone. I can restart the wrinkle free process if I leave it too long in the machine It’s absolutely great.

If you look at the majority of reviews, they are from people who have only owned the unit for just weeks or several months. I would have given it a glowing review 4 months in! We have had it for about 2 years now, and it has been a nightmare. In fact, there is a class-action lawsuit against GE for this unit. About a year in, we started using it only for wash and taking our clothing to dry at the laundromat - now we do both washing and drying there because the unit barely dries at all. We have had a service tech come out several times but to no avail.
The unit's primary design flaw prevents users and service technicians from accessing areas that need to be cleaned or serviced. The design of the unit has users interfacing with the lint trap in a particular way - via an extremely narrow 2 inch wide by 7 inch tall slot at the top of the drying unit. The recommended brushes for this unit do NOT address the buildup, nor reach the major buildup spots. You are unable to reach with a proper cleaning or vacuuming tool per the narrow slot mentioned. Most importantly, the amount of buildup of oils and residue, per the closed loop nature of the condenser system, can only be cleaned and removed with efforts beyond a vacuum or brush, requiring the units costly and impractical disassembly.
The user manual states "clean inside the filter compartment by removing the filter frame. Use either a vacuum with a crevice tool attachment or the Appliance Brush Set. When cleaning, be careful not to damage or bend the fins of the evaporator which is just inside the area to the right of the opening." Upon first servicing of the unit, said damage to fin was present. Given the design of this unit, it is clear that there is literally no way to clean this unit short of recurring disassembly without knowledge that regular maintenance will cause damage to this unit. Users are being instructed to clean their units and are provided no way to do so without damage occurring due to the access design per manufacturer.
The filter compartment does not create a tight seal with the filter itself, which allows fine lint and debris to blow around the filter itself and naturally this clogs and combines with evaporated detergent inside the closed loop of the condenser and its fins.
In short, we do NOT recommend this unit.
